A Literature Review on Institutional Change and Entrepreneurship  [PDF]

Abstract: The literature argues that what is an institution, how institution changes, and the relationship between institutional change and entrepreneurship. I argue that institution is not only the rule in a hierarchical order, but also a rule as something spontaneously and endogenously shaped and sustained in the repeated operational plays of the game itself [1]. Culture and meaning are important in the definition of institution. An institution conceptualized is essentially endogenous, but appears to be an exogenous constraint to the individual agents [2]. Paths of in institutional change have two ways: Demand Induced Change—Bottom-up Change or Supply Induced Changes: Change from above and from outside. Entrepreneurship does an important role during institutional change. Most of researches about the relationship of entrepreneurship and institutional change are how nation’s institution or economic policy influence entrepreneurship, and how entrepreneurs’ actives make the economy successful or unsuccessful. I argue that entrepreneurship is not only concerned with business success, as measured by profits, but also with subjective welfare and noneconomic wellbeing. Entrepreneurship is a catalyst for structural change and institutional evolution. Evasive entrepreneurs could be viewed as a new rule-breaker. In most theories of institutions and entrepreneurship, causality is understood to run from institutions to entrepreneurship [3].
Adaptive Cascade Generalized Predictive Control  [PDF]

Cascade control is one of the most popular structures for process control as it is a special architecture for dealing with disturbances. However, the drawbacks of cascade control are obvious that primary controller and secondary controller should be tuned together, which influences each other. In this paper, a new Adaptive Cascade Generalized Predictive Controller (ACGPC) is introduced. ACGPC is a method issued from GPC and the inner and outer controllers of a cascade system are replaced by one cascade generalized predictive controller, where both loops model are updated by Recursive Least Squares method. Compared with existing methods, the new method is simpler and yet more effective. It can be directly integrated into commercially available industrial auto-tuning systems. Some examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

Abstract: In this paper, we prove a uniqueness theorem of meromorphic functions whose some nonlinear differential shares 1 IM with powers of the meromorphic functions, where the degrees of the powers are equal to those of the nonlinear differential polynomials. This result improves the corresponding one given by Zhang and Yang, and other authors.

Abstract: In this paper, under the reduced form framework and “Bottom Up” method, a model for pricing a basket Loan-only Credit Default Swap (LCDS), with the negative correlation between prepayment and default, is established. A general pricing formula for it is obtained, where one factor CIR (Cox-Ingersoll-Ross) and ICIR (Inversed CIR) models are used to describe the negative correlation between prepayment and default. In this situation, the positivity of prepayment and default intensity processes are guaranteed. Numerical computations are presented.

The limitation of accounting experimental teaching software leads to the level of teaching falling behind that of practical applications. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to construct an accounting comprehensive experimental platform. It is highly feasible to establish such a platform based on SaaS mode. Furthermore, when developing this platform, some new requirements are proposed to the functional design of the platform.

A Global Algorithm for Training Multilayer Neural Networks

Abstract: We present a global algorithm for training multilayer neural networks in this Letter. The algorithm is focused on controlling the local fields of neurons induced by the input of samples by random adaptations of the synaptic weights. Unlike the backpropagation algorithm, the networks may have discrete-state weights, and may apply either differentiable or nondifferentiable neural transfer functions. A two-layer network is trained as an example to separate a linearly inseparable set of samples into two categories, and its powerful generalization capacity is emphasized. The extension to more general cases is straightforward.

Abstract: Approximately half of all patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) develop central nervous system metastases during the course of their disease which indicate poor prognosis. A part of NSCLC patients demonstrates activating epidermal growth factor receptor gene (EGFR) mutations who represent effectiveness and well tolerance of EGFR-speci?c tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) therapy. Although the systemic efficacy of targeted agents is established, the efficacy of central nervous system (CNS) metastases is not as well characterized. In this article, we review recent data on the use of EGFR inhibitors for treatment of patients with NSCLC and CNS metastases.
Performance Study of a Cross-Layer Based Multipath Routing Protocol for IEEE 802.11e Mobile Ad Hoc Networks  [PDF]

Abstract: Communication over wireless links identifies significant challenges for routing protocols operating. This paper proposes a Cross-layer design based Multipath Routing Protocol (CMRP) for mobile ad hoc networks, by means of the node energy signal from the physical layer. The purpose is to optimize routing decision and path quality. The nodes’ mobility behavior is predicted using a notion of “Signal Fading Degree, SFD”. Especially, in combination of the IEEE 802.11e standard at the MAC layer, we determine that the IEEE 802.11e makes a significant contribution to performance improvement of CMRP. Performance evaluation of AODV in legacy 802.11 and CMRP in IEEE 802.11e shows that, as a function of speed of node mobility, a tremendous reduction achieved, in metrics such as the average end-to-end delay, route overhead, route discovery frequency, normalized routing load - almost more than 80%, 40%, 40%, and 40%. In the case of varying number of sessions, the reduction for route discovery frequency and normalized routing load are up to 70% and 80%.

The electrochemical study of corrosion resistance of silane-based hybrid films doped with rare earth salt on aluminum alloy

Abstract: In the present work, silane-based organic-inorganic hybrid films doped with rare earth salt (cerium nitrate) were prepared by sol-gel method using γ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (γ-GPTMS) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) precursors on 2A12 aluminum alloys. The electrochemical tests (such as polarization curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)) were preformed to investigate the preparing process of Ce-doped organic-inorganic hybrid films (including the concentration of cerium salt doped in films and curing temperature of coatings) and characterize the performances of corrosion protection of the coatings for 2A12 aluminum alloys. At the same time, the corrosion resistance of Ce-doped coatings was compared with non-doped silane-based hybrid films, chromate conversion coating and rare earth conversion coating. The results of polarization curve tests indicated that the polarization resistance value of Ce-doped silane-based hybrid films increased by more than one order of magnitude compared with that measured for non-doped coating, and much greater than those of chromate and rare earth conversion coatings. EIS measurements gave the results in good agreement with those obtained from polarization curves, suggesting that silane-based hybrid process present promising potentialities as alternative method of chromating by improving the preparing technology of these films.
