A Decision-Making Method for Improving Logistics Services Quality by Integrating Fuzzy Kano Model with Importance-Performance Analysis  [PDF]

Abstract: In resources limited circumstances, seeking relationship between customer satisfaction and logistics service performance is meaningful for the development of logistics companies. Therefore, it is crucial for logistics companies to understand that logistics service quality attributes can increase satisfaction and their improvement priorities can help make better decisions. Thus, the identification of logistics service quality attributes importance and their contributions on improving customer satisfaction have become more necessary to logistics companies success. Considering traditional Kano model classification is subjective, the contribution of this study is, therefore, to integrate fuzzy Kano model with importance-performance analysis to address the shortcomings with using these two methods separately. What’s more, constructing a decision-making method can help logistics companies determine the priority of logistics service quality attributes. Finally, an empirical study on customer satisfaction was undertaken. The feasibility and effectiveness of this method had been verified.

Abstract: The fully-leaky guided wave technique has been used to study the reflective 90? MTN liquid crystal cell used for LCOS. The cell is comprised of upper substrate with indium-tin-oxide coating and lower substrate with aluminum coating. Reflective angle-dependent signals (Rss, Rpp, Rsp and Rps) were recorded over a range of angles of incidence with the cell under application of 0 - 7 Vrms ac electric fields. From the recorded experimental data, we found the reflective signals are quite strong, especially the polarization conversion signals. Fitting the data in reflection with the results of the modeling-program gives the information about the pre-tilt and twist of the director as well as the parameters of different optical layers. We found that the pre-tilt angle on the upper substrate is different from that on the bottom in the best fits, which suggests that the indium-tin-oxide and the aluminum coatings have different effects on the alignment layers.
Effects of Meteorological Factors on the Yield and Quality of Special Rice in Different Periods after Anthesis  [PDF]

Abstract: In order to investigate the effect of meteorological factors on the yield and quality of special rice during the filling stage, an experiment was conducted with 10 special rice varieties which were planted in three different regions during spring 2017. The results showed that the quality traits and yields from different regions of the same variety were different, which reached up to a significant level in most varieties. Among the quality traits, the grain chalkiness rate and chalkiness degree were the most sensitive to different climatic factors, and changes were found among them in different regions, while minor variation was found between brown rice rate and white rice rate. The parameters that were severely affected by temperature were gel consistency, gelatinization temperature, brown rice rate and yield during the filling stage. The critically affected factors by heat were brown rice rate, protein content, essential amino acid and amylose content while brown rice rate, chalkiness rate and gelatinization temperature were substantially affected by water factors. Grain yield and quality were closely related to meteorological factors on different stages after heading. Our results revealed that yield and quality of special rice were significantly influenced by meteorological factors during the grain filling stage.
Destruction of VOCs by combination of corona discharge and catalysis techniques

Abstract: The catalytic effect of alumina on the destruction of toluene, benzene, acetone and methanol, in DC pulsed corona discharge reactor was studied. In the presence of alumina the inlet concentration of the VOCs was varied from ~5×10-6mol/L to ~80×10-6mol/L, and their decomposition efficiency (conversion %) was found to be 99%—80% for toluene, 99%—97% for benzene, 95%—92% for acetone, and 72%—85% for methanol. Corresponding decomposition in the absence of alumina was 90%—38% for toluene, 89%—57% for benzene, 42%—30% for acetone, and 47%—19% for methanol. Feed gas flow rate was 400 cm3/min and power reading from DC source was 7.4 W in all of the experiments. Alumina also shifted the CO/CO2 ratio in the by products in favor of CO2. Ozone concentration at the reactor outlet was higher in the presence of alumina. Enhancement in VOCs decomposition by alumina was explained on the basis of higher concentration of ozone and its precursor atomic oxygen O] . Decomposition efficiency (conversion %) for individual compounds was found to be inversely proportional to the ionization potential of the compound, under identical conditions. Double DC high voltage sources pulse generator was tested and found to improve VOCs decomposition compared with the conventional single DC high voltage source. 

Abstract: A study has been made of the structure of the electrochemically deposited amorphous (Fe, Co, Ni)-P layers with relation to the process conditions, e.g. pH value, current density, metallic salt concentration, etc., by means of X-ray analysis, SEM and EPMA. Results showed that the effect of the process on the structure is realized by changing the P content of the layer. While P contained over 8%, below 3% or between 3 and 8%, a layer may be constructed as amorphous alloy, supersaturated solution or mixed structures respectively. The major factors affecting the structure of the deposited layer are found to be the concentration of NaH_2PO_2 and pH value of the bath. The structure of the layer may be also influenced by the potential of electro-deposition. The Fe-P, Co-P or Ni-P system is similar in amorphous structure of which the highest thickness of stack of the atomic face is 2.0, 2.5 or 6.5nm respectively.

Abstract: This paper presents a novel theory for understanding the mechanics behind non-conventional superconductors. It presents the hypothesis that non-conventional superconductors are 2D lattices of super-cells and that the superconductivity mechanism involves the ordered hopping of itinerant electrons along with phase transitions in the edge percolations.

Abstract: As the traditional methods and technical means cannot meet the quantitative research needs of the urban land use patterns, quantitative research methods for the urban land use pattern are established via the GIS(geographic information system)technique combined with the related theories and models. Taking the city of Nanjing as an example, a spatial database of urban land use and other environmental and socio-economic data is constructed. A multiple linear regression model is developed to determine the statistically significant factors affecting the residential land use distributions. To explain the spatial variations of urban land use patterns, the geographically weighted regression(GWR)is employed to establish spatial associations between these significant factors and the distribution of urban residential land use. The results demonstrate that the GWR can provide an effective approach to the exploration of the urban land use spatial patterns and also provide useful spatial information for planning residential development and other types of urban land use.

Abstract: The correlation between the shape memory effect(SME)and the ordering degree inmartensite formed through various heat-treatment processes,e.g.ice water quenching,step-quenching and aging etc.,has been studied in a Cu-26Zn-4Al alloy.The martensite or-dering degree is estimated by △d,the spacing difference of some pairs of diffracting planeswith indices satisfying a relation of(h_1~2-h_2~2)/3=(k_2~2-k_1~2)/n(n=1 for 9R martensite,n=4for 18R martensite).M 18R martensite is obtained from step-quenching,in which the valueof △d increases with the holding duration of step-quenching,and the shape recoveryrate η increases synchronouslly.9R martensite is obtained from direct water-quenching,thevalue of △d is quite large and SME is also good at just quenching state.But both △dand η decrease continuously with aging time at room temperature.This stabilization phe-nomenon of martensite is explained by the observation of TEM lattice fringe image,and itmay be attributed to the clustering of quenched-in supersaturated vacancies at(001)_M close-packed plane in martensite and decreasing the ordering degree.A reduction in△d and η occuring in the specimens on step-quenching or aging at higher temperature,which may be related to the precipitation of the α-phase and the enrichment of solute atoms,decreases the ordering degree.
Inhibitory effects of chitosan on superoxide anion radicals and lipid free radicals

Abstract: With the electron spin resonance (ESR) technique, the inhibitory effects of chitosan on superoxide anion radicals and linoleic acid lipid radicals were found. The inhibitory ratio E for these two kinds of radicals is in proportion to the concentration of chitosan. It was also observed that E for linoleic acid lipid radicals increased with the increase of the degree of deacetylation and decreased with the increase of the molecular weight of chitosan.
