Abstract: Understanding of the changes in corporate governance lies at the heart of contemporary debates about transformation of capitalism. Asia is no exception to this phenomenon. Asia’s corporate governance has undergone significant changes since the financial crisis of 1997. Our study, based on the theory of institutional change, seeks to examine current transformations. The concept of corporate governance is viewed as being dependent on institutional environments in which the firm evolves. The analysis of the changes in corporate governance is therefore needed to understand institutional change.On this basis, we argue that the current transformation is experiencing a process of hybridization and we suggest a framework to understand ongoing corporate governance reform. Hybridization carries two opposed forces: drivers for change and resistance to change. The dynamic process of adaption of newly imported practices leads to new model adapted to local conditions. Our empirical analysis allows us to apprehend the diverse pattern of corporate governance in Asia even within the current context of adherence to the Anglo-Saxon model: we find three hybrid models and one other model which has not committed to the reform. We also study the sources of change and the factors that give rise to resistance. We provide an overview of the recent changes in corporate governance practice in Asian countries.
Distribution of Electromagnetic Force of Square Working Coil for High-Speed Magnetic Pulse Welding Using FEM  [PDF]

Magnetic pulse welding process, one of high speed welding processes, uses electromagnetic force from discharged current through a working coil which develops a repulsive force between the induced currents flowing parallel and in the opposite direction in the pipe to be welded. For achieving the successful weldment and using this process, the design of working coil is the most important factor, because working coil has to generate a high-intensity magnetic field on the surface of the workpiece during the process. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the distribution of electromagnetic force of square working coil for magnetic pulse welding. For this, FE-model has been developed to analyze the distribution of electromagnetic force; after that, distribution of electromagnetic force, results of numerical analysis and experimental results for verifying the developed FE-model were compared. A 3-dimensional electromagnetic FE-model has been developed using a general commercial computer program, ANSYS/EMAG code. Effects of Guhanyangshengjing Tablet on Testosterone Synthesis and Expression of SYCP3 in the Testis of Aging Male Rats  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: The objective of this article is to investigate the effect of Guhanyangshengjing Tablet (GT) on expression of synaptonemal complex protein 3 (SYCP3), a meiotic marker, in the testis tissue of aging male rats. Methods: Forty aging male rats were randomly assigned into 4 equal groups (n = 10 per group). Rats in each group were treated with GT at dose of 0 (control), 1.5 g/kg, 3.0 g/kg or 4.5 g/kg respectively by gavage daily for 30 days. At the end of the experiment, all animals were sacrificed and the blood samples were drawn to evaluate serum testosterone levels. The reproductive organs of each rat were taken and weighted. The right testis of each rat was removed for the analysis of intratesticular testosterone (ITT) concentrations, and the left one was used for immunohistochemical staining. Results: Compared with the control, reproductive organs’ weights, serum testosterone levels, ITT concentrations, quality of sperm, and expression of SYCP3 in the GT-treated groups were all improved in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion: GT can improve testosterone synthesis and promote spermatogenesis simultaneously, indicating that GT is suitable for late-onset hypogonadism (LOH) patients with fertility requirements.
A New Interference Alignment Algorithm in the MIMO-OFDM System

Abstract: As is known to all, the inter-cell interference of the cell-edge users in cellular network is serious which deteriorate the quality of communication to a great extent, so this study formulated a distributed, low system overhead linear precoding to solve this problem. It considered the downlink channel of a cellular broadband wireless system where base stations and users are assumed to have at least two antennas each and are scheduled based on fractional frequency reuse. Then, the study introduced a balancing algorithm which helps the adjacent base stations to simultaneously beamform to its own user while still minimizing the interference on the non-intended user. Finally, in this study, it also analyzed the degree of freedom can be achieved in the cellular network. The simulation results showed that this new scheme can improve the performance of the cell-edge user significantly while causing only a mild degradation in the performance of the in-cell users.

Abstract: As the large change of the grid load, many large capacity units of our country had to change the load in order to meet the gird need. When a thermal power plant receives a given load instruction from the grid, it is necessary to set an optimal steam pressure to maintain the high efficiency of the plant. In the past optimization methods, during the process of calculation, the output of the turbine often changed, it was hard to maintain the output constant. Therefore, in combination with the theory of variable condition of turbine, calculation of governing stage and the matrix equation of thermal power system, an optimization method were put forward and an optimal solution was got in a given load.

The prevention and treatment of epidemic is always an urgent problem faced by the human being. Due to the special space structure, huge passenger flow and great people mobility, the subway lines have become the areas with high epidemic transmission risks. However, there is no recent study related to epidemic transmission in the subway network on urban-scale. In this article, from the perspective of big data, we study the transmission risk of epidemic in Beijing subway network by using urban subway mobility data. By reintegrating and mining the urban subway mobility data, we preliminary assess the transmission risk in the subway lines from the passenger behaviors, station features, route features and individual case on the basis of subway network structure. This study has certain practical significance for the early stage of epidemic tracking and prevention.

Abstract: Objective: To observe the effects of puerarin on the expressions of leptin receptor mRNA and phosphorylated Janus kinase 2 / phosphorylated signal transducers and activators of transcription 3 (P-JAK2/P-STAT3) proteins in the liver of rats with non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD).Methods: A rat model of NAFLD was successfully established by feeding high-fat diet. All SD rats were randomly divided into blank control group, untreated group, simvastatin-treated group and puerarin-treated group. After four-week treatment, the levels of hepatic triglyceride and total cholesterol were analyzed by using an automatic biochemical analyzer. The pathology of the liver tissue was observed by light microscopy. Serum leptin level was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the expressions of leptin receptor mRNA and P-JAK2/P-STAT3 proteins in the liver of NAFLD rats were quantified by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot analysis respectively.Results: Puerarin significantly decreased the levels of hepatic triglyceride and total cholesterol in NAFLD rats. Fat degeneration and inflammatory reaction in liver tissues of NAFLD rats were ameliorated after puerarin treatment. The serum leptin level was increased and the expressions of leptin receptor mRNA and P-JAK2/P-STAT3 proteins were up-regulated in puerarin-treated group.Conclusion: Puerarin can effectively attenuate liver lipid disorder and inflammation by improving the leptin resistance and enhancing the expressions of leptin receptor mRNA and P-JAK2/P-STAT3 proteins
Gluon Helicity Delta G from a Universality Class of Operators on a Lattice

Abstract: We show that the total gluon helicity $\Delta G$ in a polarized nucleon can be calculated on a Euclidean lattice through a universality class of QCD operators that describe the helicity or polarization of the onshell gluon radiation. We in particular find some operators whose matrix elements in a nucleon of momentum $P^z$ are directly related to $\Delta G$ with only power-law $(1/P^z)^n (n\ge 2)$ corrections.
