NURE Investigación , 2010,
Abstract: During the first year of life, children develop a double-faced emotional tie with their parents or caregivers that provide them the essential confidence to approach psychological and social competences. This special link is called attachment.Attachment may be modified by different situations like the absence of an appropriate person to make tie, the absence of an identification through physical care are assured or the impossibility to assure the child psychical and emotional care (due to depression, psychosis, interest failing or any other wide range of subjects). So, during the first year of life, children may suffer from several kinds of disorders.According to DSM-IV-CR, Pervasive Developmental Disorder is characterized by difficulties in social relations, imaginative activities and verbal and nonverbal communication as well as reduced and repetitive interests. This work aims to decreasing anxiety and improving attachment between children with PDD and their mothers through the infantile massage. Establishing a program that involves 5 sessions of 90 minutes each, with theoretical and practical information about infantile massage, crying, birth, life changes, different roles, feelings of guilt, etcetera. Thanks to it, children with PDD get a quantitative and qualitative improvement of attachment that gets them closer to the external world, reduces their anxiety for changes and allows them a better adaptation to life.

Abstract: This is an exploratory research in which an attempt to describe cultural typologies in a group of four companies with an intensive use of technology and their relation with the innovative degree that these companies present is carried out, specifically in the software area. It is assumed that a relation between cultural typology and the company's level of innovation can be established. The conclusions answering the proposed hypotheses are presented for companies under study.

Abstract: multidisciplinary teams are a strategy that was suggested more than ten years ago by canadian groups. patients treated in an multidisciplinary environment show better knowledge of ckd and better biochemical parameters. the goals were to increase knowledge in our patients with ackd and their family about their illness, correct care and renal replacement therapy, through group education, to evaluate whether the information increased the patients' level of anxiety and to evaluate the degree of satisfaction with the group education. this is a retrospective study carried out with 19 patients, who attended both courses. two questionnaires were completed at the start and end of the course on the level of knowledge and level of anxiety (state-trait anxiety inventory stai). at the end of each course, an assessment questionnaire was completed. the variables studied were sex, age, level of education and presence of a relative. the level of knowledge reached a statistically significant difference between the two questionnaires (start-end) (p = 0.013). the results obtained in the evaluation of the level of anxiety showed a slight increase in anxiety. the satisfaction questionnaire showed a very positive evaluation of the action. we can conclude that most of the patients have increased their knowledge of ackd and replacement techniques, have shown a high degree of satisfaction with the experience of this intervention and most have experienced a slight increase in anxiety.

Abstract: background: the human immunodeficiency virus (hiv) epidemic in spain was characterized throughout the first few years by the predominance of infections among injected drug users (idu's), but everything currently points to a progressive predominance of sexual transmission. this study is aimed at describing the trend in hiv infection among several heterosexual populations groups and at characterizing the situations in which the infections occurred. methods: descriptive study of the individuals who had the test conducted for the first time at nine hiv diagnosis centres within the 1992-2003 period due to high-risk heterosexual exposures, not including injected drug users. results: a total of 47,870 individuals had serology performed during the period under study. the hiv prevalence among the population under study dropped from 3.2% to 1.0% (p< 0.001). among the individuals with an hiv infected partners, the prevalence remained at around 10%, the male users of prostitution having dropped from 1.9% to 1.0% (p=0.049); among women involved in prostitution, from 1.4% to 0.7% (p=0.008); and among all other heterosexuals, having dropped from 1.6% to 1.0% among males (p=0.014) and from 1.1% to 0.7% among women (p=0.012). conclusions: the results indicate advances in the control of heterosexual human immunodeficiency virus transmission, mainly among women, although it is necessary to still continue stressing prevention.

Abstract: Long term non-progressor patients (LTNPs) are characterized by the natural control of HIV-1 infection. This control is related to host genetic, immunological and virological factors. In this work, phylogenetic analysis of the proviral nucleotide sequences in env gene from a Spanish HIV-1 LTNPs cohort identified a cluster of 6 HIV-1 controllers infected with closely-related viruses. The patients of the cluster showed common clinical and epidemiological features: drug user practices, infection in the same city (Madrid, Spain) and at the same time (late 70’s-early 80’s). All cluster patients displayed distinct host alleles associated with HIV control. Analysis of the virus envelope nucleotide sequences showed ancestral characteristic, lack of evolution and presence of rare amino-acids. Biological characterization of recombinant viruses with the envelope proteins from the cluster viruses showed very low replicative capacity in TZMbl and U87-CD4/CCR5 cells. The lack of clinical progression in the viral cluster patients with distinct combinations of protective host genotypes, but infected by low replicating viruses, indicate the important role of the virus in the non-progressor phenotype in these patients.
Description of the General Procedure of a Stress Inoculation Program to Cope with the Test Anxiety  [PDF]

Psychology (PSYCH) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/psych.2014.58106
Abstract:

We set out the stages in the general procedure of a stress inoculation program for the treatment of test anxiety in university students, with the aim of adapting it to the characteristics of each participant. Research has previously been conducted to that end (Serrano, Delgado, & Escolar, 2010; Serrano, Escolar, & Delgado, 2002; Serrano, Escolar, & Delgado, 2011) on dismantling strategies in a real clinical field. We conclude that there are individual response patterns to test anxiety, so it is therefore necessary to adapt the intervention to the principle variable that is affected in each individual (Escolar & Serrano, 2012). We do not consider that training in study skills is appropriate, when treating problems of irrational anxiety.
