Discutindo a educa??o ambiental a partir do diagnóstico em quatro ecossistemas no Brasil

Abstract: this article brings the main results of a study called "an investigation of environmental education in five states and a biome in brazil" carried out in four networks of environmental education. the study was commissioned by the brazilian network of environmental education, and was concluded in november 2004; it was based on data of the diagnostics performed by the following networks: state of s?o paulo network - repea (sp), southern network - reasul (pr, sc, and rs), aguapé network (mt and ms/pantanal biome), and acre network - raea (ac). they all fed data into the brazilian system of environmental information of the ministry for the environment (sibea/mma) in the 2001-2003 period. the objectives of the study were to present a systematization of common categories researched in each network, to discuss the possibility of comparing the features of environmental education for the regions researched on the basis of the consolidation of the data gathered, and finally to highlight challenges, limitations and opportunities perceived in the development of environmental education. the analysis of the data emphasizes aspects such as: the institutions offering activities of environmental education are mainly public and of the civil society and, on a small scale, private; institutions of environmental education, educators/experts, and researchers are concentrated in southeastern brazil; activities are mostly of awareness/mobilization, followed by capacitation in environmental education; the concept of environmental education is not understood evenly across networks; there are more projects than programs of environmental education; there is a predominance of short duration courses in the training of environmental educators. the final considerations of the text analyze these tendencies in the light of the political and educational contexts, and suggestions are made for further reflection on the relations between environmental education and its social insertion.

Abstract: the article discusses transformations in the contemporary public sphere and the emergence of new types of political action, which are related to the creation of a political and pedagogical environmental field. the political environmental action may be considered as part of the counterculture and the new left movements. therefore, it may be taken as one of the expressions of the crisis of modernity, which is redefining the role of social action in terms of individual, private, public, ethical and aesthetic action. this dilemma exposes the conflicts which constitute modernity and its emancipating project. in the face of this problematic, some analyses emphasise the dissolution and the decline of politics whilst others underline the emergence of a new way of doing politics. finally, the article explores the aftermaths of these social changes in the educational field, especially in environmental education, which is concerned with the construction of an ecological self.

Abstract: This article analyzes, from a hermeneutic perspective, the historical production of meanings about the nature and the environment in order to think what could be called an environmental tradition in the context of modernity in the West. This tradition refers to a long duration history of the senses of the environment which are located within the (re) interpretations of contemporaneity and from where one (re) construct the meanings of the actual experience of nature and the environment. In this environmental tradition is possible to detach: enlightened understanding of nature controlled by reason, the vision of the idyllic pastoral; the english naturalism of the seventeenth century; the new bourgeois sensibilities of the eighteenth century; the european romanticism of the XVIII-XIX centuries; the imaginary about America like a Eden. Go along with to these different historical landscapes evoke different kinds of nature as fields of meaning, memories and experiences that are constantly renegotiated in contemporary modes of experiencing the environment. This is the case of the ecological movement and its intersections with the counterculture and new left movements. By drawing this line of analysis the article highlights the elements of a historicity that is (re) update in permanent renegotiation of meanings in contemporary experience. Este artigo tematiza, desde uma perspectiva hermenêutica, cursos históricos de produ o de sentidos sobre a natureza e o ambiente significativos para pensar o que se poderia chamar uma tradi o ambiental no ambito da modernidade no Ocidente. Esta tradi o remete à uma história de longa dura o dos sentidos do ambiental dentro da qual se localizam as (re)interpreta es contemporaneas e a partir de onde se (re) constroem os sentidos atuais da experiência da natureza e do ambiente. Destacam-se nesta tradi o ambiental a compreens o iluminista de uma natureza controlada pela raz o, a vis o pastoral idílica do naturalismo inglês do século XVII; as novas sensibilidades burguesas do século XVIII; o romantismo europeu dos séculos. XVIII-XIX; e o imaginário edênico sobre a América. Ao percorrer estas diversas paisagens históricas s o evocadas as várias naturezas da natureza enquanto campos de sentido, memórias e experiências que s o renegociadas permanentemente nos modos contemporaneos de experienciar o ambiente. Este é o caso dos movimentos ecológicos e suas intersec es com os movimentos contraculturais e a nova esquerda. Abstract: this paper reviews the scientific literature in environmental education (ee) in the period 2001-2009 through the studies presented at the annual meetings of the anped anppas and epeas. the approach integrates survey and analysis of published studies regarding the thematic emphases and characteristics of the authors. the results indicate: i) a female predominance in all degree levels, ii) most authors doctors in the events of anped and anppas while teachers predominate in epea, iii) works mostly coming from public higher education institutions in the three events surveyed iv) greater representation of southern and southeastern regions at the anped and epea meetings, and at anppas meetings dominate the southeast and midwest, v) ee in formal education stands out as a thematic concern in all events investigated. this paper also dis cusses the relevance of these indicators for the legitimation of ea as an area of scientific production.

Abstract: Este artículo revisa la literatura científica en educación ambiental (EA) en el período 2001-2009 a través de los estudios presentados en las Reuniones Anuales de la ANPEd, EPEAs y ANPPAS. El método ha incorporado la encuesta y análisis de estudios publicados; los énfasis temáticos y las características de los autores. Los resultados indican: i) un predominio del sexo femenino en todos los niveles de titulación, ii) la mayoría de los autores tienen título de doctor en los encuentros de ANPEd y ANPPAS mientras que los maestros predominan en EPEA, iii) los trabajos en su mayoría son procedentes de instituciones públicas de educación superior en los tres eventos investigados iv) ha mayor representación de las regiones sur y sureste en las reuniones de la ANPED y la EPEA, y en las reuniones de la ANPPAS predominan el sureste y medio oeste, v) la EA en la educación formal se destaca como una preocupación temática en todos los trabajos investigados. También se discute en este artículo la pertinencia de estos indicadores para la legi timación de la EA como un espacio de producción científica.

Abstract: this article argues the question of the understanding since the experience of the work of art and the game as models of the understanding in gadamer. since this perspective, discuss the opening and the engagement as constituent aspects of the experience of understanding of the world in the perspective of the hermeneutics and explores its consequences in terms of the belonging to the environment, in the sense of a environment-world. it considers, in continuity with this perspective, the notion of landscape as engagement and belonging to the "body of the world". in order to propose this concept of landscape we use the ecological anthropology of tim ingold and the phenomenology of merleau-ponty who suggest, each one in its way, the continuity in the relation human and no human beings. finally, a comprehensive epistemology is pointed out from the reflection on an intervention of research-action in environmental education in the "vale do ribeira".

Abstract: Este trabalho investiga rela es entre ecologia, religi o e saúde, a partir de uma etnografia fenomenológica, que encontra em Merleau-Ponty, Thomas Csordas e Tim Ingold suas principais referências teórico-metodológicas. O lugar desta etnografia foi o Rinc o Gaia, a sede rural da Funda o Gaia, ONG fundada pelo ecologista José Lutzenberger. Localizado em Pantano Grande, a 120 km de Porto Alegre, o Rinc o Gaia é o lugar onde acontecem trilhas educativas, cursos de educa o ambiental, oficinas ligadas à temática ecológica e atividades de ecoturismo. Abstract: this article discusses the resources offered by the biographic methods about life trajectory analysis, emphasizing the contributions made by hermeneutic thought, specially in the works by paul ricouer (time and narrative) and gadamer (truth and method) on the interrelations between the experience and its symbolic articulation in the autobiographical reports, here taken to be forms of narrative. a context for these theoretical and methodological considerations is given several times in this article, the reference being a study previously made on trajectories in the environmental field, site of the research where this methodological view was applied.

Abstract: O artigo discute os recursos oferecidos pelos métodos biográficos na análise de trajetórias de vida, destacando as contribui es da hermenêutica, sobretudo a partir dos trabalhos de Paul Ricouer (Tempo e Narrativa) e Gadamer (Verdade e Método), sobre as inter-rela es entre as dimens es da experiência e a sua articula o simbólica nos auto-relatos, tomados como modalidades narrativas. Estas considera es teórico-metodológicas s o contextualizadas, em vários momentos do artigo, tendo como referência um estudo anteriormente realizado sobre trajetórias no campo ambiental, locus da pesquisa onde esta abordagem metodológica foi acionada.
