Abstract: This work treats about the professions related with the fishing in the Kingdom of Toledo, in the high and middle course of river Tagus, from XII-XVIth centuries. Along these pages we have seen many different kind of people, public servants, great merchants, workers of the fisheries, involved in the fishing, trading and delivering of fish in this time. So with this article, we break with the idea which identified the fishing only with fishing men and boats showing how the medieval society was interested in every economic activity which produced profits.

Brazilian Journal of Physics , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-97332005000500005
Abstract: concentrations of trace metallic element as well as macronutrients were measured in water and plants from pond water. the aquatic macrophyte salvinia sp. was evaluated for its trace metals removal potential in river water under laboratory conditions. the experiment were performed using several healthy acclimatized plants salvinia sp. the water and grown plants were collected from ponds. for the trace element removal′s test, 30-35 grams of fresh aquatic plants were grown in river water into a greenhouse for ten weeks. control plants were also grown during the experiment. every two weeks, both plants and water samples were collected. after the end of each experiment, the growth rate was calculated. trace element concentrations in plants and pond water were obtained using txrf techniques. values for the elements (k, ca, ti, fe, cr, mn, cu, zn and sr) concentrations in plant dry weight have been obtained after deducting metal contents of control plants. for each trace element, the aquatic salvinia sp. plant showed to possess different affinity for the incorporation of the metals in its biomass. results suggest the use of aquatic macrophytes salvinia sp. for metal abatement in dilute wastewaters.
Saavedra S,Iván; Quiones S,Luis;
Revista médica de Chile , 2006, DOI: 10.4067/S0034-98872006001200015
Abstract: once drug patents expire, the health authorities can approve the registry of similar products. they must request to the manufacturer, the bibliographic background of the original product and the analytical results that certify drug quality. an inspection of the premises of the manufacturer is also required. the main goal of this approval is to decrease cost, considering that the original product is usually more expensive. this is a current situation due to the imminent expiration of the patents of many biopharmaceutical products. therefore, in chile, the public health (isp) and the ministry of health should consider that for this kind of products, until now, there are no interchangeable generic drugs, and that the similar drugs that are offered have a different chemical composition, since they have been manufactured through different processes. in the case of biological drugs (e.g. erythropoietir, somatotropin, heparin) the quality and homogeneity depend from the manufacture process. its complete composition can not be absolutely elucidated; therefore small impurities or conformational variants can elicit an altered immune response or unexpected adverse reactions. this indicates that the approval of a biogeneric drug requires in addition to pharmacokinetic studies, preclinical and clinical analytical studies such as physicochemical assays, biological and immunological test. this issues have been established by who and have been incorporated for the main drug registry entities all over the world (fda, emea, anvisa) to approve biogeneric products

International Journal of Morphology , 2012, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-95022012000200030
Abstract: melatonin is a hormone that regulates circadian rhythms and many of the reproductive aspects of mammals and is secreted by the pineal gland during the hours of absence of light. this hormone has high affinity receptors coupled to g-like proteins, termed mt1. a polymorphism of the sequence coding for these receptors was involved in the control of seasonal reproduction in sheep. the purpose of this study was to determine the presence of mt1 receptor polymorphism in araucana creole sheep, a local breed with a short reproductive anestrus. to carry out this work, we used a technique called polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment lengh polymorphism pcr-rflp, for which samples were obtained from genomic dna of 50 araucana sheep, which were digested with mnl1 restriction endonuclease. it was possible to identify the presence of mt1 receptor polymorphism in araucana sheep. the genotypes were found in a genotype frequency of 68% for genotype + / +, 28% for genotype + / - y4% for genotype - / -. this high percentage of animals with genotype + / + could explain the short reproductive anestrus featuring this breed.
