Health (Health) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/health.2015.74049
Abstract: This is a qualitative study that aims to describe the opinion of nursing students on the use of an educational hypermedia on Peripheral Venipuncture. We interviewed 16 nursing students of a private university on second semester of 2014. The interviews allowed the identification of units of meaning and categorization by content analysis and led to four categories: influence of hypermedia on learning, educational technology as support to teaching classroom, contribution of hypermedia for professional practice and access difficulties. Hypermedia showed positive results as most scholars reported that the material helped in learning and generated autonomy and interactivity in the moment of studying. However some reported difficulties in access hypermedia related mainly to the server used. So hypermedia proved to be a valuable tool to use, since it favored the learning and aroused the interest and curiosity of students.
Wardrobe Malfunctions and the Measurement of Internet Behaviour  [PDF]
Roland Pfister
Psychology (PSYCH) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/psych.2011.23042
Abstract: The wardrobe malfunction – an unanticipated exposure of bodily parts in the public – has become a prevailing issue in concerts, shows and other celebrity events that is reliably reported by the media. The internet as the fastest source for celebrity gossip allows measuring the impact of such wardrobe malfunctions on the public in-terest in a celebrity. This measurement in turn allows conclusions about intention, motivation, and internet be-haviour of a wide variety of internet users. The present study exemplifies the use of an innovative non-reactive measure of active interest – the Search Volume Index – to assess the impact of a variety of internet-related phe-nomena, including wardrobe malfunctions. Results indicate that interest in a celebrity increases immediately af-ter such an event and stays at a high level for about three weeks (the wardrobe plateau). This special form of ce-lebrity gossip thus meets a constant interest of a substantial proportion of internet users.

Abstract: The paper describes blended learningapproach to teaching resistor measurement. It is basedon “Learning by Doing” paradigm: interacticesimulation, laboratory plants, real experimentsaccessed by Web Publishing Tools under LabVIEW.Studying and experimenting access is opened for 24hours a day, 7 days a week under Moodle bookingsystem.
Deciding on the Type of the Degree Distribution of a Graph from Traceroute-like Measurements
Xiaomin Wang,Matthieu Latapy,Mich`ele Soria
International Journal of Computer Networks & Communications , 2012,
Abstract: The degree distribution of the Internet topology is considered as one of its main properties. However, it is only known through a measurement procedure which gives a biased estimate. This measurement may in first approximation be modeled by a BFS (Breadth-First Search) tree. We explore here our ability to infer the type (Poisson or power-law) of the degree distribution from such a limited knowledge. We design procedures which estimate the degree distribution of a graph from a BFS of it, and show experimentally (on models and real-world data) that this approach succeeds in making the difference between Poisson and power-law degree distributions.

Abstract: Measured sampled 6 754 active hosts at 7 measure sources with technology of distributed active measurement at the same time. The measurement returned 32 893 effective datas totally. After analyzing these datas, gave the Chinese Internet router-level hop count distribution and calculated the un-weighted average hop count was 14.938 89 and the weighted average hop count was 15.613 73.

Abstract: Sampling bias caused by few points was first present, and by increasing the measurement points can reduce the omission of network edge.Based on the giant data samples authorized by CAIDA,the distribution of network nodes was analyzed respectively. The distribution of frequency-degree presents that the nodes of network follows power-law,and the distribution of network nodes exists heterogeneity confirmed by the degree-rank distribution.Cumulative function indicates that Weibull distribution may be more suitabl...
The IT convergence framework design in the internet of things environment

EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking , 2013, DOI: 10.1186/1687-1499-2013-53
Abstract: In the Internet of things that could intelligent functions such as communications, context awareness, remote control, and provide services to users by assigning advanced communication functions to things, a convergence process between the general manufacturing industry and the IT industry. In detail, the IT convergence is divided into one for the product itself and one for the product manufacturing process. This study designs a model to objectively measure the IT convergence level for the automobile and shipbuilding industries, which are classified as a typical manufacturing industry, and applies it to them so that it would like to acquire availability of the model as well as to provide the present condition of current IT convergence level.
The Influence of Web- Versus Paper-based Formats on the Assessment of Tobacco Dependence: Evaluating the Measurement Invariance of the Dimensions of Tobacco Dependence Scale

Substance Abuse: Research and Treatment , 2009,
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of mode of administration (internet-based, web survey format versus pencil-and-paper format) on responses to the Dimensions of Tobacco Dependence Scale (DTDS). Responses from 1,484 adolescents that reported using tobacco (mean age 16 years) were examined; 354 (23.9%) participants completed a web-based version and 1,130 (76.1%) completed a paper-based version of the survey. Both surveys were completed in supervised classroom environments. Use of the web-based format was associated with significantly shorter completion times and a small but statistically significant increase in the number of missing responses. Tests of measurement invariance indicated that using a web-based mode of administration did not influence the psychometric functioning of the DTDS. There were no significant differences between the web- and paper-based groups’ ratings of the survey’s length, their question comprehension, and their response accuracy. Overall, the results of the study support the equivalence of scores obtained from web- and paper-based versions of the DTDS in secondary school settings.
Does Internet-Based Survey Have More Stable and Unbiased Results than Paper-and-Pencil Survey?  [PDF]
Pei-Wen Liao, Jun-Yi Hsieh
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2017.51006
Abstract: This study designed to compare responses from an internet-based survey to those from a paper-and-pencil survey in terms of measurement reliability, validity, and equivalence using homogeneous demographic profiles of the undergraduates studying in Taiwan. Several similarities and differences were found between two types of survey in this study. For examples, contents of the survey items (i.e., internet-related vs. behavior-related) and survey environments significantly influence the distribution of responses. The normal distribution, internal consistency, in addition to construct, and convergent validity for individual construct are quite similar. However, the homological validity evidence was demonstrated through structural equation modeling across two survey modes. Implications and future research are also discussed.
Internet: una red para capturar rehenes?
Dr. Raymond Colle
