Abstract:
Seamless Handover For Unidirectional Broadcast Access Networks In Mobile IPv6
Ilka Miloucheva,Jens M?deker,Karl Jonas,Dirk Hetzer
Journal of Communications , 2007, DOI: 10.4304/jcm.2.6.46-55
Abstract: Mechanisms and protocol interactions for seamless handover of mobile multicast/broadcast services using unidirectional access networks in heterogeneous Mobile IP infrastructures are discussed and proposed. QoS based applications, such as content delivery, mobile TV, carousel and reliable downloads, requiring interaction channel, are considered, as well as recent standardization efforts for converged broadcast and mobile IP infrastructures. The proposed mechanisms are aimed to support handover of interactive mobile services using unidirectional broadcast media (DVB-H) combined with bidirectional mobile access technologies (UMTS, WLAN,WIMAX) in heterogeneous Mobile IPv6 environments. In particular, the focus is:- Enhancement and interactions of link layer tunnelling mechanisms (IETF RFC 3077) for provisioning of bidirectional connectivity in heterogeneous Mobile IP environment;- Access network selection and intelligent handover mechanisms based on IEEE 802.21 for services using unidirectional networks;- Proactive resource management for interactive services using unidirectional access networks.
"IMPRóLOGO" DE OCTAVIO PAZ: APUNTES POéTICO-POETOLóGICOS SOBRE LA POESíA DE VASKO POPA
Kressner,Ilka;
Revista chilena de literatura , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-22952009000200004
Abstract: this study is a close-reading of octavio paz' "imprólogo" (árbol adentro), a poem that served as prologue to thefirst anthology of poetry ofthe serbian poet vasko popa. i propose to analyze the text under three aspects: first, it is a poetic practice that evolves through the examination ofthe poetry of paz 'friend and colleague. second, "imprólogo " is a study of the valué ofnegation, a lyrical exercise carried out through the repeated deferral to being carried out. thirdly the poem offers a new, poetological reflection on intertextuality, concei-ved as a poetic dialogue in suspense. thus, paz reqffirms -on the new terrains ofnegation combined with intertextuality- the potential of the poetic to allude, through the words, to something beyond words.

Theses for the deregulation of urbanism in light of the renewal of the physical planning legislature
Ilka ?erpes
Urbani Izziv , 2002,
Abstract: Present urbanism is not adapted to contemporary forms of development, therefore it is ineffective. Similar to contemporary development even contemporary urbanism should strive to meet forms of dynamically organised systems on the verge of chaos in which development is directed by constant and unpredictable flows. The goals of contemporary urbanism are economic efficiency, social equity and development, which respects resources and human health. Contemporary (deregulated) normative arrangements of spatial management determines development goals and conditions for their implementation, the rest is left over to self-organisation.

Ein Schritt auf dem Weg zur Emanzipation russischer Feministinnen? One Step on the Way to Emancipation of Russian Feminists?
Ilka Borchardt
querelles-net , 2001,
This book review has two parts. The first presents an historical outline of Russian feminist theory and politics from the early 19th century to the end of the 20th century. In part two, original texts reflect the discussions during the I. Russian Women’s Congress (1908) and public debates on the ‘question of women’s rights’ until 1914. Putting the women’s movement in Russia into an historical perspective is not only of academic interest, but also suggests theoretical perspectives for women’s politics in the future.
Wie rassistisch sind Anti-Rassist/-innen? How Racist are Anti-Racists?
Ilka Borchardt
querelles-net , 2003,
Anja Wei does a very thorough and committed job of presenting a difficult topic, investigating the racism of those who self-identify as anti-racist activists. This topic may often seem paradoxical, and is usually dealt with in a very emotional way. Wei attempts to recognise all the contradictions and emotions involved, and to creatively integrate them into her research.
Frauenbewegung und Zivilgesellschaft in Russland Women Activists and Civil Society in Russia
Ilka Borchardt
querelles-net , 2002,
Britta Schmitt’s work is not just another book on the current women’s movement in Russia, but offers a rare synthesis of social theory and empirical data analysis and represents an important contribution to the field of gender studies. Using the individual and collective living situation of different women activists as a backdrop, Schmitt investigates the current women’s movement and its role in the sphere of civil society in Russia.
Stereotype M nnlichkeit auf dem Prüfstand? Is Stereotypical Masculinity in the Process of Being Tested?
Ilka Borchardt
querelles-net , 2003,
The book Masculinities—Maskulinit ten, edited by Therese Steffen and published in 2002, introduces a number of texts in German and in English, all of which deal with diverse ideas about masculinity. The various contributions in this book do not only aim to deconstruct the category “man”, but also aim to critically evaluate the “reality of stereotypical hegemonic masculinity” among the diversity of experiences.
