Abstract: A 7 year old boy presented with multiple, raised, hard nodules of varying sizes over both elbows and right knee and small milia like lesions over the chin. Serum levels of calcium, phosphorus and uric acid were normal. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) followed by excisional biopsy was done. A final diagnosis of calcinosis cutis was made based on histopathological and clinical findings. This is a rare case of mixed variants/subtypes-subepidermal calcified nodules and milia like lesions.

Abstract: The present paper attempted to detect the all possible methods used in archaeology and also tries to pick up modern tool which is to some extent less destructive to the archaeological sites in modern time. The methods can be put into three regions: selecting sites, collecting artifacts and ordering the past artifacts. The prehistoric time involves uses of organic and inorganic materials which may crumble to dust when exposed to atmosphere. So, it has also been explained in the present paper about the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) which is a Non-Destructive Techniques (NDT). Secondary sources served the purpose to track out all the possible methods. The methods help to discover archaeological sites and artifacts which are then dated by different dating methods and are arranged in an order. Later, the experts may trace about the prehistoric settlement pattern, trading system, religious belief, artworks and social organizations by interacting the artifacts.

In the absence of medical diagnosis evidences, it is difficult for the experts to opine about the grade of disease with affirmation. Generally many tests are done that involve clustering or classification of large scale data. However many tests could complicate the main diagnosis process and lead to the difficulty in obtaining the end results, particularly in the case where many tests are performed. This kind of difficulty could be resolved with the aid of machine learning techniques. In this research, we present a comparative study of different classification techniques using three data mining tools named WEKA, TANAGRA and MATLAB. The aim of this paper is to analyze the performance of different classification techniques for a set of large data. A fundamental review on the selected techniques is presented for introduction purpose. The diabetes data with a total instance of 768 and 9 attributes (8 for input and 1 for output) will be used to test and justify the differences between the classification methods. Subsequently, the classification technique that has the potential to significantly improve the common or conventional methods will be suggested for use in large scale data, bioinformatics or other general applications.

Abstract: Nilgiri hills being a part of biodiversity hot spot, is a home of colossal life forms including bryophytes. Bryophytes have a great diversity in Nilgiri hills which includes both terricolous and corticolous forms. This study deals with morphotaxonomy of three extremely infrequent terricolous taxa of order Jungermanniales, viz ., Gottschelia schizopleura (Spruce) Grolle, Lethocolea javanica (Schiffn.) Grolle and Jackiella javanica var. cordifolia Schiffn, occurring in Nilgiri hills. These taxa were located to a few restricted pockets and facing high risk of habitat loss which need urgent/immediate conservation management. Abstract: Paper includes information on population status of Conocephalum conicum collected from diverse habitats in Bhader-wah (J & K state). Taxon exhibits tremendous diversity in morphoanatomical details of various gametophytic charac-ters. Isozyme analysis was performed to find out whether variability in the taxon is only environmental or has genetic basis as well.

Abstract: Agro-industrial residues are primarily composed of complex polysaccharides that strengthen the microbial growth for the production of industrially important enzymes like cellulases. In the present study we aimed to characterize the Exo 1, 4-β glucanase that was indigenously produced from Trichoderma viride MBL. T. viride MBL was cultured in the Solid-State medium of orange peel (50% w/w moisture) under optimized fermentation conditions and maximum activity of 412 ± 12 U/mL was recorded after 4th day of incubation at pH 5.5 and 30℃. Exo 1, 4-β glucanase was 4.17-fold purified with specific activity of 642 U/mg in comparison to the crude extract. To confirm its purity and molecular weight, sodium dodecyl sulphate poly acrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS- PAGE) was performed. The enzyme was shown to have a molecular weight of 60 kDa with an optimum pH and temperature of 5 and 50℃, respectively. Lineweaver-Burk reciprocal plot revealed that the kinetic constants Km and Vmax of purified Exo 1, 4-β glucanase were 76 μM and 240 U/mL.

Abstract: The aim of this study is to compare the family and cultural factors among run away and normal girls. To conduct this research 25 runaway girls from girls living in Darul Aman in Gujrat and 25 normal girls from different colleges and university areas were selected and studied. The result indicates that bettering of the family, affairs before marriages, gender discrimination within family and educational problem is more frequent in the runaway girls than the normal girls.
