Determination of the Risk Function for Survivors Using Beta Pert Method

Abstract: In emergency at sea the most important is to start the rescue action as fast as possible, whereas the decision to terminate the action, in case the survivors have not been found, is made by the coordinator on the basis of his practical experience. To estimate the level of risk it is necessary to face the problem of lack of credible statistical data. The paper presents a new concept which allow to calculate the risk, taking into account data uncertainty. The method and probability model are presented and discussed.
Sampling Jitter in Audio A/D Converters

Abstract: This paper provides an overview of the effects of timing jitter in audio sampling analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), i.e. PCM (conventional or Nyquist sampling) ADCs and sigma-delta (ΣΔ) ADCs. Jitter in a digital audio is often defined as short-term fluctuations of the sampling instants of a digital signal from their ideal positions in time. The influence of the jitter increases particularly with the improvements in both resolution and sampling rate of today's audio ADCs. At higher frequencies of the input signals the sampling jitter becomes a dominant factor in limiting the ADCs performance in terms of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and dynamic range (DR).

Abstract: The distribution of Chrysanthemum segetum L. in Poland, based on a field research, herbarium materials, literature and unpublished data, is described with a list of localities. Altogether, 352 localities (210 ATPOL squares) for this species have been identified. Most localites are concentrated in North and West parts of Poland.
String picture of 1+1 dimensional QED in light--front formulation

Abstract: We study quantum electrodynamics in 1+1 dimensions in the light--front frame using numerical methods. We analyze confinement and charge screening which are key features of this system. By direct analysis of wavefunctions of bound states in two parton sector we determine the string tension. In four parton sector we introduce inclusive distributions and inspect structure of energy eigenstates. We conclude that they are composed of two weakly interacting $f\bar f$ pairs. These four particle states are responsible for the screening. Finally, we study time evolution of a fermion--antifermion state separated by a specific distance. We demonstrate that for sufficient separation it decays into a multiparton state and the number of particles in the product depends on separation of particles.
