Modeling and Solution of Economic Dispatch Problem for GTCC Units  [PDF]

Abstract: Economic dispatch problem lies at the kernel among different issues in GTCC units’ operation, which is about minimizing the fuel consumption for a period of operation so as to accomplish optimal load dispatch among units. This paper has analyzed the load dispatch model of gas turbine combined-cycle (GTCC) units and utilizes a quantum genetic algorithm to optimize the solution of the model. The performance of gas turbine combined-cycle units varies with many factors and this directly leads to variation of model parameters. To solve the dispatch problem, variable constraints are adopted to correct the parameters influenced by ambient conditions. In the simulation, comparison of dispatch models for GTCC units considering and not considering the influence of ambient conditions indicates that it is necessary to adopt variable constraints for the dispatch model of GTCC units. To optimize the solution of the model, a Quantum Genetic Algorithm is used considering its advantages in searching performance. QGA combines the quantum theory with evolutionary theory of genetic algorithm. It is a new kind of intelligence algorithm which has been successfully employed in optimization problems. Utilizing quantum code, quantum gate and so on, QGA shows flexibility, high convergent rate, and global optimal capacity and so on. Simulations were performed by building up models and optimizing the solutions of the models by QGA. QGA shows better effect than equal micro incremental method used in the previous literature. The operational economy is proved by the results obtained by QGA. It can be concluded that QGA is quite effective in optimizing economic dispatch problem of GTCC units.
Iteration and Iterative Roots of Fractional Polynomial Function

Abstract: Iteration is involved in the fields of dynamical systems and numerical computation and so forth. The computation of iteration is difficult for general functions (even for some simple functions such as linear fractional functions). In this paper, we discuss fractional polynomial function and use the method of conjugate similitude to obtain its expression of general iterate of order n under two different conditions. Furthermore, we also give iterative roots of order n for the function under two different conditions.

Changes in public health awareness of traditional Chinese medicine in Shanghai in the late Qing Dynasty

Abstract: : Public health awareness existed in the practice of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) long ago. In the process of Shanghai’s modernization and in competition with Western medicine, TCM in Shanghai has gradually accepted the modern public health awareness, fostering its strengths, circumventing its weaknesses and playing an important role in the local public health service. To study the vicissitude of TCM public health awareness at this time will be helpful to further understand the modern history of TCM and also provide useful reference for further participation of TCM in modern public health enterprise. In this paper, the authors used literature analysis and historical research to analyze the medical practice and writings of representative TCM practitioners, medical groups and journals. The results showed that the public health awareness of TCM in Shanghai has evolved from its traditional pattern to the modern pattern seen today; the traditional pattern was characterized by individual health care and some degree of medical collaboration, whereas the modern pattern is characterized by public health education. This process was propelled forward throughout by intense national spirit. TCM has made significant contributions to the local public health service in Shanghai in the late Qing Dynasty, which promoted the modernization of public health awareness of TCM in the People’s Republic of China. The authors also found that one of the ways of modernizing TCM is to diversify the ways of publicizing TCM and make it easily understood, which can shed a new light on promoting the development of TCM.
Situation of epidemic prevention in the late Qing dynasty in Shanghai

Abstract: : To study the implementation of the epidemic prevention by the authorities of the concession and late Qing dynasty through investigation of the prevention and treatment of pestilence in Shanghai from 1872 to 1911, this paper analyzes the issues concerning municipal administration, inspection and disinfection, food sanitation, vaccination, regulatory legislation and health promotion, etc. The experiences are summarized in the study. The lessons drawn from what the concession authority did to prevent pestilence imply that the implementation of health promotion should be carried out according to the variation of the time, location and population, and that traditional Chinese medicine should be involved in the prevention and treatment of pestilence.
An Empirical Study on Public Service Motivation and the Performance of Government Employee in China

Abstract: Perry and Wise (1990) summarized the potential behavioral implications of PSM. Then more researches tried to explore and test the propositions suggested by them. Inspired by these researches, a research was conducted to elaborate the relationship between PSM and government employee’s performance by empirical data collected in Chinese government agencies. The study offered the evidence that the levels of PSM of government employees and their job satisfaction were the efficient predictors of their performance. PSM can explain more variance of performance than job satisfaction. But organizational commitment is not. There is no relationship between continuance commitment and PSM as well as performance. The indirect effects of organizational commitment on performance are achieved by job satisfaction. Key words: public service motivation, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, performance Résumé: Perry et Wise (1990) ont récapitulé les implications comportementales potentielles du PSM. Alors on a entrepris beaucoup de recherches pour explorer et examiner les propositions suggérées par elles. Inspiré par ces recherches, une étude a été conduite pour établir le rapport entre le PSM et la performance des employés du gouvernement par des données empiriques rassemblées dans les organismes gouvernementaux chinois. L'étude démontre que les niveaux de PSM des employés du gouvernement et leur satisfaction professionnelle étaient les facteurs prédictifs efficaces de leur performance. Le PSM peut expliquer plus le désaccord de performance que la satisfaction professionnelle. Mais c’est n’est pas le cas de l'engagement organisationnel. Il n'y a aucun rapport entre l'engagement de continuation et le PSM ainsi que la performance. Les effets indirects de l'engagement d'organisation sur la performance sont réalisés par la satisfaction professionnelle. Oxygen quenching in LAB based liquid scintillator and nitrogen bubbling model

Abstract: The oxygen quenching effect in Linear Alkl Benzne (LAB) based liquid scintillator (LAB as the solvent, 3 g/L 2, 5 diphe-nyloxazole (PPO) as the fluor and 15 mg/L $p$-bis-($o$-methylstyryl)-benzene (bis-MSB) as the $\lambda$-shifter) is studied by measuring the light yield as the function of the nitrogen bubbling time. It is shown that the light yield of the fully purged liquid scintillator is increased by 11% at the room temperature and the room atmosphere pressure. A simple nitrogen bubbling model is proposed to describe the relationship between the relative light yield (oxygen quenching factor) and the bubbling time.
Linear Quadratic Non-Zero Sum Differential Games of Backward Stochastic Differential Equations with Asymmetric Information

Abstract: This paper studies backward linear quadratic non-zero sum differential game problem with asymmetric information. Compared with the existing literature, there are two distinct features. One is that the information available to players is asymmetric. The other one is that the system dynamics is described by a backward stochastic differential equation. Nash equilibrium points are obtained for several cases of asymmetric information by stochastic maximum principle and technique of completion square. The systems of some Riccati equations and forward-backward stochastic filtering equations are introduced and the existence and uniqueness of the solutions are proved. Finally, the unique Nash equilibrium point for each case of asymmetric information is represented in a feedback form of the optimal filtering of the state, through the solutions of the Riccati equations.
Optimal Load Dispatch of Gas Turbine Power Generation Units based on Multiple Population Genetic Algorithm  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, a multiple population genetic algorithm (MPGA) is proposed to solve the problem of optimal load dispatch of gas turbine generation units. By introducing multiple populations on the basis of Standard Genetic Algorithm (SGA), connecting each population through immigrant operator and preserving the best individuals of every generation through elite strategy, MPGA can enhance the efficiency in obtaining the global optimal solution. In this paper, MPGA is applied to optimize the load dispatch of 3×390MW gas turbine units. The results of MPGA calculation are compared with that of equal micro incremental method and AGC instruction. MPGA shows the best performance of optimization under different load conditions. The amount of saved gas consumption in the calculation is up to 2337.45m3N/h, which indicates that the load dispatch optimization of gas turbine units via MPGA approach can be effective.
