Abstract: A novel silicon-on-insulator (SOI) high-voltage device based on epitaxy-separation by implantation oxygen (SIMOX) with a partial buried n+-layer silicon-on-insulator (PBN SOI) is proposed in this paper. Based on the proposed expressions of the vertical interface electric field, the high concentration interface charges which are accumulated on the interface between top silicon layer and buried oxide layer (BOX) effectively enhance the electric field of the BOX (EI), resulting in a high breakdown voltage (BV) for the device. For the same thicknesses of top silicon layer (10 μm) and BOX (0.375 upmum), the EI and BV of PBN SOI are improved by 186.5% and 45.4% in comparison with those of the conventional SOI, respectively.
Analysis of Inter-cell Interference in Multimedia Cellular CDMA

Abstract: It is a very important domain to analyze the inter-cell interference in multimedia CDMA networks. However, traditional methods have three main limitations and can hardly accurately reflect the real status of cellular system. A new method is proposed to overcome these limitations. The interference is quantitatively analyzed and the close-form expressions of interference expectation and variance are acquired. Through numeric computation, the interference is analyzed in different conditions. Results show that with the distance between two base stations increased, the decline velocity of interference is decreased.
MicroRNA-98 and microRNA-214 post-transcriptionally regulate enhancer of zeste homolog 2 and inhibit migration and invasion in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Abstract: Background The enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) was found to be overexpressed and associated with tumor metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). On the other hand, it was reported that miR-26a, miR-98, miR-101, miR-124, miR-138 and miR-214 could inhibit the expression of EZH2 in some tumors. However, the role of miRNAs in the regulation of EZH2 expression in human ESCC has not been documented. The aim of this study was to determine the role of these miRNAs in the regulation of tumor metastasis via EZH2 overexpression in human ESCC. Methods and results The expression of these miRNAs and EZH2 mRNA were examined by qPCR and the expression of EZH2 protein was detected by western blot. The role of these miRNAs in migration and invasion was studied in ESCC cell line (Eca109) transfected with miRNA mimics or cotransfected with miRNA mimics and pcDNA-EZH2 plasmid (without the 3’-UTR of EZH2). Through clinical investigation, we found that miR-98 and miR-214 expression was significantly lower in ESCC tissues than in matched normal tissues, and the expression level of miR-98 and miR-214 was inversely correlated to EZH2 protein expression and the clinical features such as pathological grade, tumor stage and lymph node metastasis in ESCC. In Eca109 cells, overexpression of miR-98 and miR-214 significantly inhibited the migration and invasion of ESCC cells, which was reversed by transfection of EZH2. Conclusions These findings suggest that decreased expression of miR-98 and miR-214 might promote metastasis of human ESCC by inducing accumulation of EZH2 protein.
Effects of high frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on emotional disorders and P300 of patients with Parkinson's disease

Abstract: Background Previous studies revealed that repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) can obviously improve the motor function of Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. Since the non-motor symptoms of late stage PD can induce worse impacts on patients, it is important to investigate the clinical effects of high frequency rTMS on non-motor symptoms including emotional and cognitive disorders of PD patients. Methods Sixty-five patients with PD received rTMS therapy. Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and P300 before and after treatment were recorded to assess the effect of rTMS on patient's emotions, abilities of daily living and motor functions. Results After treatment, the total UPDRS (t = 10.872, P = 0.000), UPDRS Ⅰ( t = 4.538, P = 0.023), UPDRS Ⅱ( t = 8.846, P = 0.012) and UPDRS Ⅲ scores (t = 9.114, P = 0.000) were all significantly decreased. The incidence rate of depression and anxiety was reduced from 52.46% (32/61) to 29.51% (18/61), and cognitive disorder from 42.62% (26/61) to 32.79% (20/61). HAMA ( t = 3.692, P = 0.000) and HAMD (t = 4.241, P = 0.000) scores were significantly reduced, but hallucinogenesis wasincreased from 18.0 3% (11/61) to 29.51% (18/61 ) . The incubation period of P300 was significantly reduced ( t = 5.924, P = 0.000), but the amplitude was increased (t = 8.512, P = 0.000). Conclusion High frequency rTMS can reduce anxiety and depression, and improve cognition of PD patients.
