Fast Transmit Beampattern Synthesis for MIMO Radar with Colocated Antennas

Abstract: An idea that an arbitrary transmit beampattern can be equal to a sum of the most basic beams is proposed. Based on the idea and using the Chebyshev weighting technique, the most basic beams are constructed with low side-lobes for a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) radar system with colocated antennas. The ratios of these beams are fast obtained by solving an effective linear programming. Compared with the existing Semidefinite Quadratic Programming (SQP) method, the designed transmit beampattern can achieve lower spatial side-lobes and cross-correlation. Furthermore, it is faster to design the transmit beampattern.

Abstract: 多段同频等长信号十分常见,对其进行信息融合能有效提高信号处理的精度,尤其适用于低信噪比、被测频率持续时间短的情况。为提高频率估计的精度、实时性和扩展已有方法的适用范围,给出了一种基于多段同频等长信号融合的快速迭代算法。在该算法中,设计相位差补偿因子矩阵以克服各段信号之间相位不连续;生成搜索频率序列以修正相位差补偿因子矩阵中的未知参量并得到具有特定形式的功率谱矩阵;采用间接迭代计算以改善算法实时性。在说明上述技术措施的应用原理时,给出了5项重要性质并作为该算法正确性的数学证明,针对多种应用环境状态进行了仿真实验,结果表明,该算法具有普适性、抗噪性好、频率估计精度比现有方法有较大提高,具有重要的理论和应用价值。

Abstract: A phase controlled multi-beam interference is applied to excite the doped liquid crystals. Control of the phase difference between the exciting beams allows the external control of the interference pattern inside the liquid crystal. The dynamic variation of the grating is made possible with a time-dependent phase change to derive the nonlinear refractive index as well as the responding speed of the material. The induced grating structure is numerically modelled with reorientational phase gratings in the liquid crystal, and the diffraction dynamics is found to be in good agreement between theoretical and experimental results.
Adsorption of Herbicide Butachlor in Cultivated Soils of Golestan Province, Iran  [PDF]

Abstract: Butachlor is a non-ionic herbicide that has been applied widely for agriculture, especially in paddy fields. Through batch equilibration experiments, the adsorption characteristics of butachlor were investigated in eight cultivated soil samples collected from Golestan Province, Iran. The data obtained from adsorption equilibrium experiments fitted the linear equation very well. Results showed that butachlor had weak to moderate adsorption capability in different soils. Trend of butachlor adsorption was similar to the order of abundance of organic carbon in the soils. The Gibbs free energy values were found negative and adsorption was spontaneous and exothermic in nature. Statistical analysis showed that organic carbon, CEC (cation exchange capacity), and the Rt ratio (ratio of TNV to organic matter content) were the more effective parameters governing butachlor retention and mobility in soils.

Abstract: To correctly capture spatial targets from cluttered and motive celestial background, a new MultiTarget Capture algorithm was proposed, which is a comparative difference algorithm based on the combination of centroid extraction and despun registration of efficient points. Moreover, this algorithm was applied in an image processing system based on the DSP featuring high speed and high performance. The procedures of image processing are as follows: first, label efficient points in the frame and extract their centroids; second, make appropriate despun registration, according to the reference rotation angles provided by Space Robot position system; third, translate and register centroid coordinates of efficient points in reference frames and get the registration points according to the principle that there are the most same centroid coordinates of efficient points when completely registered; finally, eliminate the same background points by using comparative difference method. The result shows that this image processing system can meet the needs of the whole system.

Abstract: Subjects with T2DM with or without proved large arteries atherosclerosis and normal controls (n=15 for each group) were recruited in the present study. HDL was isolated from the subjects by ultracentrifugation. The levels of HDL-associated S1P were determined by UPLC-MS/MS. The protective function of diabetic HDL and S1P was evaluated by measuring cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) expression and prostacyclin I-2 (PGI-2) release by human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) using western blot and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), respectively.The S1P levels in isolated HDL were significantly increased in T2DM subjects compared with controls (235.6 +/- 13.4 vs 195.0 +/- 6.4 ng/mg, P< 0.05). The diabetic HDL exerted greater protective effects on inducing COX-2 expression and PGI-2 release by HUVECs than those of control HDL (p < 0.05, p < 0.01, respectively). Pertussis toxin, a common inhibitor of G-couple protein receptors, and VPC 23019, an antagonist of S1P receptor 1 and 3 significantly attenuated HDL-induced COX-2 expression and PGI-2 release.Diabetic HDL carries higher level of S1P compared with normal HDL, which has the potential to contribute to protective effects on endothelial cells by inducing COX-2 expression and PGI-2 release. These findings provide a new insight of S1P function in T2DM patients, possibly leading to a new therapeutic target.

Abstract: Ultrastructure of leaf was compared between cytoplasmic male sterile line (CMS) and its maintainer line(MF) during the development of tuber mustard. It was indicated that: Chlorophyll content in leaves of CMS was deficiency than that of MF. Difference was also observed in cell ultrastrucature between CMS and MF. Chloroplast of CMS' leaves was under developed than that MF in rosette, which was ellopsographical shape. Also, the number of stacks in each granum was reduced .While little starch was acculmated in CMS. The activity of mitochondria was also lower with little intracristaed membrane. Furthermore, almost no endoplasmic reticulum was detected in CMS. But, on swelling stage, the developed level of chloroplast structure in CMS was as near as that in MF, which became spear shaped. Likewise, the lamella's system was in well developed and clear state. The corresponding activity of mitochondria was also enhanced obviously. However, when to peduncle growing period, both of CMS and MF's ultrastructure became retrogressive, intracristaed membrane of organelle was degraded and disappear, while the activity of mitochondria was also decreased, a lot of starch was acculmated in the chloroplast of CMS and MF. Based on the results, the relationships between cytoplasmic male sterility and ultrastructure were also discussed.

Abstract: 为求解多目标0-1背包问题,基于竞争决策算法原理和多目标优化问题的特性,提出了一种求解多目标0-1背包问题的元胞竞争决策算法。将元胞自动机演化规则引入竞争决策算法,给出了算法的具体描述,并使用Delphi 7.0实现了算法的具体步骤。为了提高多目标非劣解(Pareto解)的分布性和多样性,利用全局经验作为指导,在最稀疏的Pareto解附近进行邻域搜索。经过大量数据测试和验证,该算法具有真实的Pareto前沿逼近效果,是一种多目标优化问题的有效方法。
Purification and Characterization of Gigantoxin-4, a New Actinoporin from the Sea Anemone Stichodactyla Gigantea

Abstract: A new Cytolysin, termed as Gigantoxin-4, was isolated from the sea anemone Stichodactyla gigantea and found to be highly homologous with Cytolysin-3 (HMg III) from Heteractis magnifica, RTX-A from Radianthus macrodactylus, and Sticholysin-1 (St I) and Sticholysin-2 (St II) from Stichodactyla helianthus (homology 82%, 86%, 82% and 86% respectively). Its 20 N-terminal residues were identified and the full-length cDNA sequence was obtained by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Multiple sequence alignments with other Cytolysins of the actinoporin family clearly indicated that Gigantoxin-4 belongs to this protein family. SDS-PAGE electrophoresis showed that this new actinoporin had a molecular mass of about 19 kDa, and possessed a high hemolytic activity to human erythrocytes (HA50= 40 ng/ml), which was inhibited by pre-incubation with sphingomyelin (SM) or SM-cholesterol mixtures. Our in vivo experiments showed that Gigantoxin-4 had wide toxicity to the rat cardiovascular system and the respiratory system. A concentration of 30μg/kg Gigantoxin-4, i.v. produced a positive inotropic effect on the rat heart although final cardiovascular failure was inevitable, and 60μg/kg Gigantoxin-4 caused respiratory arrest rapidly resulting in rat death. HE staining indicated pathological changes in various organs and tissues after i.v. administration of Gigantoxin-4.
