Circulating miR-214 is associated with the severity of coronary artery disease

Abstract: Objective To study whether miR-214 is regulated in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients and whether placental growth factor (PLGF) is a possible target for miR-214 in atherosclerosis. Methods Circulating miR-214 was measured by quantitative PCR using RNA isolated from 40 patients with CAD, including 12 with stable angina pectoris, 16 with unstable angina pectoris and 12 with acute myocardial infarction, and 15 controls without CAD. Plasma level of PLGF was measured by ELISA. Results The miR-214 level was significantly lower in CAD patients compared with that in controls (P < 0.01). Compared to controls, patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP, 38.6±9.1 pg/mL) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI, 46.3±13.4 pg/mL) had significantly higher level of plasma PLGF, but not those with stable angina pectoris (SAP; P = 0.012, UAP vs. Control; P = 0.005, AMI vs. Control). In patients with AMI, the plasma level of miR-214 was positively correlated to that of PLGF. Conclusions The results suggest that miR-214 is a beneficial microRNA for CAD patients. Loss of its protection may lead to increased PLGF levels and worsening atherosclerosis. Circulating miR-214 is a promising biomarker for alerting severe CAD.

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effect of Compound Rhubarb Mixture on contraction of isolated small intestinal smooth muscle of rabbit. Methods: Serum containing Compound Rhubarb Mixture was prepared. The contraction curves of isolated small intestinal smooth muscle before and after administration of the serum were recorded by Medlab biological information collecting system. Results: The serum containing Compound Rhubarb Mixture amplified the contraction amplitude of isolated small intestinal smooth muscle of rabbit. The rate of change of contraction amplitude was elevated significantly after administration, while the frequency of contraction did not change obviously. Conclusion: The serum containing Compound Rhubarb Mixture can enhance the contractive function of isolated small intestinal smooth muscle of rabbit

Abstract: Let $M_G$ denotes the centered Hardy-Littlewood maximal function associated to the Carnot-Carath\'eodory distance or to the pseudo-distance associated to the fundamental solution of the Grushin operator on $\R_x^n \times \R_u$, $\Delta_G = \sum_{i = 1}^n \frac{\partial^2}{\partial x_i^2} + (\sum_{i = 1}^n x_i^2) \frac{\partial^2}{\partial u^2}$. We get $L^p$ ($p > 1$) dimension free estimates for $M_G$. We prove also that there exists a constant $A > 0$ such that $\| M_G \|_{L^1 \longrightarrow L^{1, \infty}} \leq A n$, $\forall n$.

Abstract: 文章分析与绵羊高繁殖力主效基因FecB紧密连锁的微卫星座位BMS2508在高繁殖力绵羊品种(小尾寒羊)和低繁殖力绵羊品种(特克塞尔、多赛特和中国美利奴)中的遗传多态性,同时探讨该微卫星座位与小尾寒羊FecB基因的连锁不平衡关系.高繁殖力品种小尾寒羊在骨形态发生蛋白受体IB(Bone morphogenetic protein receptor IB,BMPR-IB)基因编码序列第746位碱基处发生了与Booroola Merino绵羊相同的FecB突(A746G),而在低繁殖力的特克塞尔、多赛特和中国美利奴绵羊中没有检测到该突变;小尾寒羊BB、B+、++的基因型频率分别为0.485、0.398和0.117.微卫星座位BMS2508在4个绵羊品种的438个个体中共检测到8个等位基因和15种基因型,最小等位基因为94 bp,最大等位基因为116 bp;小尾寒羊(n=307)、特克塞尔(n=45)、多赛特(n=46)、中国美利奴(n=40)和BB型(n=149)、B+型(n=122)、++型(n=36)小尾寒羊群体中优势等位基因分别是100 bp、94 bp、94 bp、112 bp、100 bp、100 bp、112 bp,其频率分别为0.453、0.544、0.802、0.475、0.483、0.439,0.389.连锁不平衡分析显示小尾寒羊FecB基因B等位基因与BMS2508微卫星座位100bp等位基因之间存在一定的连锁不平衡(D'=0.408),而+等位基因与BMS2508微卫星座位110bp和114bP等位基因均存在一定的连锁不平衡(D'=0.513).
WPG-Controlled Quantum BDD Circuits with BDD Architecture on GaAs-Based Hexagonal Nanowire Network Structure

Abstract: One-dimensional nanowire quantum devices and basic quantum logic AND and OR unit on hexagonal nanowire units controlled by wrap gate (WPG) were designed and fabricated on GaAs-based one-dimensional electron gas (1-DEG) regular nanowire network with hexagonal topology. These basic quantum logic units worked correctly at 35 K, and clear quantum conductance was achieved on the node device, logic AND circuit unit, and logic OR circuit unit. Binary-decision-diagram- (BDD-) based arithmetic logic unit (ALU) is realized on GaAs-based regular nanowire network with hexagonal topology by the same fabrication method as that of the quantum devices and basic circuits. This BDD-based ALU circuit worked correctly at room temperature. Since these quantum devices and circuits are basic units of the BDD ALU combinational circuit, the possibility of integrating these quantum devices and basic quantum circuits into the BDD-based quantum circuit with more complicated structures was discussed. We are prospecting the realization of quantum BDD combinational circuitries with very small of energy consumption and very high density of integration.

Abstract: The title compound, C18H28O4, crystallizes with two molecules in the asymmetric unit. Both molecules have similar conformations of nine-membered rings, which are trans-fused with cyclobutane fragments. The puckering amplitudes (q2) of the cyclobutane rings are 0.2451 (2) and 0.2526 (2) .
Effects of Danshen Decoction on experimental gastric ulcer in rats and mice

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the preventive and therapeutic effects of Danshen Decoction on gastric ulcer in experimental animal models. Methods: The model of water immersion restraint stress ulcer in mice, and the models of acetic acid impaired gastric ulcer and pyloric ligation gastric ulcer in rats were established. The total gastric acid, the activity of pepsin and the amount of gastric wall binding mucus were detected. Results: Danshen Decoction reduced the acute gastric mucosal lesion. The effect of 5.0 or 10.0 g/kg group was obviously better than that of the normal saline control group (P<0.05 and P<0.01 respectively). Danshen Decoction accelerated the healing of ulcer induced by acetic acid significantly, and increased the content of gastric wall binding mucus (P<0.01); and it also inhibited the formation of gastric ulcer induced by pyloric ligation, while having no influence on the secretion of gastric acid and the activity of pepsin. Conclusion: Danshen Decoction has a significant anti-ulcerative effect, which may be related to improving the gastric mucosal defensive function.

Abstract: 化学共沉淀工艺制备Zn0.2Fe2.8O4铁氧体颗粒,颗粒尺寸约300埃,近似呈球状,在其表面外延生长一层钴铁氧体层。测量了矫顽力、铁磁共振线宽随钴含量的变化,得到由于外延层引起的磁各向异性常数Ku约为5×105尔格/厘米3。由实验结果分析,主要是Zn0.2Fe2.8O4颗粒表面与外延生长层相当于两个氧离子层厚所产生的相互作用。
