Based on the empirical or theoretical qualitative information about the relationship between response variable and covariates, we propose a new approach to model polynomial regression using a shape restricted regression after estimating the direction by sufficient dimension reduction. The purpose of this paper is to illustrate that in the absence of prior information other than the shape constraints, our approach provides a flexible fit to the data and improves regression predictions. We use central subspace to estimate the directions and fit a final model by shape restricted regression, when the shape is known or is stipulated from empirical inspection. Comparisons with an alternative nonparametric regression are included. Simulated and real data analyses are conducted to illustrate the performance of our approach.

Experimental Research and Finite Element Analysis on Setting Stiffening Rib of Corner Joints in Gabled Frames  [PDF]

In order to clear constructional design of corner joint, it is necessary to further investi-gate mechanical property of corner joint in gabled frames. Through static test and finite element software analysis of comparing the panel zone with and without inclined stiffener. Some conclusions are given in the article. The load displacement curves show that the capacity of oblique nodes installed within stiffening rib components is enhanced i.e. 40% more than those without stiffening rib nodes. The results reveal that in the gabled frames, the corner node with the inclined stiffening rib can improve the bearing capacity of the specimens. When the extraterritorial flange is tension, the erection of the inclined stiffening rib can prevent structural failure and improve effectually the ductility of the structure.

Abstract: This is an article that validates Electron Cyclic Donate-Accept Catalysis Mechanism-ECDAM or Electron Orbital Deformation-Recovery Cycle Catalysis Mechanism-EODRM. In this paper, the influence of compact density, sintering temperature and time, vacuum degree, atmosphere and alloying element on the carbon dissolving rate into γ-Fe were studied. The experiment results have been reported. The way that the carbon is dissolved into γ-Fe was discussed. Gas phase composition and temperature play an important role on the carbon dissolving rate. The carbon gasification reaction is the determining step of dissolving carbon process. K2CO3, W and Mo are a catalysts, and their active size are K2CO3 > W > Mo. S and SiO2 are a poison, and their poison size are SiO2 > S. The experiment results are completely consistent with the original judgment of ECDAM.
Expression of Circulating Plasma Long Non-Coding RNA uc063iod.1 and Its Relationship with Coronary Artery Disease  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the expression of LncRNA uc063iod.1 in patients with different diseases and to explore the correlation between expression level of LncRNA uc063iod.1 and Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). Method: Plasma samples were prepared using the blood extracted from total 101 patients undergoing coronary artery angiogram (63 CAD patients and 38 non CAD patients). The expression level of LncRNA uc063iod.1 was detected using quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and the relationship between expression level of LncRNA uc063iod.1 and CAD was explored. The clinicopathological features of patients with CAD were also discussed in our study. Results: The expression of LncRNA uc063iod.1 was significantly increased in the plasma of patients with CAD (p < 0.05). AUC was 0.701 (95%CI: 0.598 - 0.804), and the sensitivity and specificity were 77.8% and 57.9% respectively. Conclusion: Upregulation of LncRNA uc063iod.1 in plasma can be used as a biomarker for the diagnosis of CAD.

Abstract: Cutaneous melanoma is one of the most aggressive forms of skin cancer. Arctigenin, one of the major bioactive compo-nents of Arctii Fructus, has been reported to exhibit antioxidant, antitumor and anti-inflammatory activities. In the pre-sent study, we investigated the effect of arctigenin on induction of apoptosis in highly metastatic SK-MEL-28 human melanoma cells. Arctigenin inhibited growth of SK-MEL-28 cells in a dose-dependent manner. Treatment of SK-MEL-28cells with arctigenin caused cleavage of caspases 3, 7 and 9, and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, acetylation of histone H3 and H4 in the SK-MEL-28 cells was dramatically increased by arctigenin treatment. Collectively, these findings indicate that arctigenin-induces apoptosis of SK-MEL-28 melanoma cells via activation of caspases and histone acetylation.

Abstract: This paper proposes an approach to synthesize functional programs of Backus‘ FP system^1,2] from input/output instances.Based on a theory of orthogonal expansion of programs^3,4],the task of program synthesis is expressed in program equations,and fulfilled by solving them according to the knowledge about the equivalence between programs.Some general knowledge of solving program equations with a number of examples are given in the paper.

Effects of Yangyin Shengjin Decoction on hemorheological parameters and coagulation factors in model rabbits with syndrome of excessive heat consuming body fluid and blood stasis

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effects of Yangyin Shengjin Decoction (YYSJD) on hemorheological parameters and coagulation factors in model rabbits with syndrome of excessive heat consuming body fluid and blood stasis. Methods: Rabbit model with syndrome of excessive heat consuming body fluid and blood stasis was produced. The effects of YYSJD on the blood viscosity, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), hematocrit, platelet aggregation rate, prothrombin time (PT), thrombin time (TT), kaolin partial thromboplastin time (KPTT), fibrinogen (Fg), thromboxane B2 (TXB2), and 6-keto-prostaglandin F1α (6-keto-PGF1α) in the model rabbits were observed. Results: YYSJD decreased the whole blood viscosity and hematocrit, inhibited the platelet aggregation, prolonged PT, TT and KPTT, and reduced the content of Fg. It also regulated the balance between TXB2 and 6-keto-PGF1α. Conclusion: YYSJD can promote the blood circulation, adjust the blood agglutinating function, and decrease the formation of thrombus. This is one of the pharmacological mechanisms of the therapeutic method of "nourishing yin to promote blood circulation" in the theory of traditional Chinese medicine for seasonal febrile diseases.
