Quest?es sobre pesquisa qualitativa e pesquisa fenomenológica
Holanda,Adriano;
Análise Psicológica , 2006,
Abstract: this text aims to discuss questions about the research method in psychology, from a general perspective of qualitative research and phenomenological research. the objective of this article is to discuss about the diversity of qualitative methods of psychological research, with special attention on the phenomenological method, as a compreensive method which presents significative relation with the psychological phenomenon. this article shows an outlook of qualitative methods, discussing few models, like the ethnographic model, the heuristic research, hermeneutics, grounded-theory, historical research, case-study, biographical research, and the phenomenological research.
Psicopatologia, exotismo e diversidade: ensaio de antropologia da psicopatologia
Holanda, Adriano;
Psicologia em Estudo , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-73722001000200005
Abstract: the purpose of this paper is to reflect upon an anthropological approach of psychopathology. it intends to throw some light upon the phenomenon of the "psychopathologic". it begins with some remarks on the anthropological concept of tzevan todorov. it also analyses theodore zeldin?s historical essay, thomas szasz?s critical reflections and michel foucault?s historic-anthropological approach. in this historical perspective, "psychopathology" is conceived as a rather contextualized phenomenon, part of the specific mentalities constructed by the western culture.

Case Reports in Clinical Medicine (CRCM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/crcm.2014.39116
Abstract: Bladder cancer is the most common malignancy of the urinary tract and it affects four times more men than women. The relationship between bladder tumors and Schistosoma haematobium is well known, but only sporadic cases of bladder infection due to Schistosoma mansoni have been reported. Schistosoma mansoni infection causes an endemic disease in Brazil (schistosomiasis) and gastrointestinal disorders are very common, but disease of the urinary tract is atypical. The aim of this study was to describe a case of a patient presenting schistosomiasis (S. mansoni) and urothelial bladder carcinoma. In this case, a 37-year-old man with intermittent painless gross hematuria was investigated. Cystoscopy revealed a small pedunculated lesion in the bladder dome. Transurethral resection revealed urothelial carcinoma of the bladder, low degree, unrepresentative of the muscular layer of the bladder. After 30 days, a new transurethral resection was performed to sample acquisition of the muscular layer on the basis of the scar. Histopathology was negative for malignancy (Tumor Node Metastasis: TNM-T1). During this procedure, there was evidence of dark rounded lesion in the bladder dome. It was excised and the histopathology showed viable eggs of Schistosoma mansoni. The patient was treated orally with oxamniquine and remained in oncological monitoring with cystoscopy quarterly and serial clinical evaluation. This case reveals a rare finding of Schistosoma mansoni in the bladder and urothelial bladder carcinoma coexisting in the same patient.
Das políticas ao cotidiano: entraves e possibilidades para a educa??o do campo alcan?ar as escolas no rural
Cavalcante, Ludmila Oliveira Holanda;
Ensaio: Avalia??o e Políticas Públicas em Educa??o , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-40362010000300008
Abstract: this present article aims to discuss the viability of country education policies at the rural territories. between the rights policies and the cultural perception of rights, we believe that the "country education" when obtained the legal and verbal respect at brazilian education policies in the twenty century, was in fact a little bit a way to achieve these on the rural of brasil as a whole. this article defines the importance of this debate, when questioning how efficient can be policies which achieve most of the social roots movements instead of the rural population as a whole.
A paridade do poder de compra: existe um quebra-cabe?a?
Barbosa, Fernando de Holanda;
Estudos Econ?micos (S?o Paulo) , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-41612009000300001
Abstract: this paper shows that the purchasing power parity puzzle is a statistical artifact produced by the fact that the long run equilibrium real exchange rate is not constant, but changes throughout time. this fact implies that the inertia coefficient has an upward bias.
Constraints on the environment depence of the neutrino mass from solar and reactor neutrino data
Holanda, Pedro Cunha de;
Brazilian Journal of Physics , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-97332007000400017
Abstract: we investigate what can be the role of mass varying neutrinos in several different neutrino oscillation experiments, in particular focusing on the relation between kamland data and solar neutrino experiment results. assuming that the adiabaticity of solar neutrinos evolution in lma-msw scenario is not broken by the inclusion of this new mechanism, we can establish new limits on mavan's parameters by fitting together kamland and solar neutrinos data. we also investigate the role of how non-adiabatic effects in the sun can change this scenario, allowing a larger value of these parameters.
Logoterapia e o sentido do sofrimento: convergências nas dimens?es espiritual e religiosa
Moreira, Neir;Holanda, Adriano;
Psico-USF , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-82712010000300008
Abstract: this present article has the purpose of analyzing the meaning of suffering in logotherapy - psychotherapy of meaning that seeks to comprehend existence by typical human phenomenon, specifically through the convergences in the spiritual and religious dimensions. from the rescue of the meaning's will concept, it intends to establish a relation both in the concept of pathos, finitude and death, as well as its articulation with homo patiens perspective in logotherapy; distinguishing the place of guilt, disease, dignity, responsibility and meaning in this context. furthermore, considering the nature of suffering as inherent to the human constitution, the theory of viktor frankl considers resilience a positive adaptation of man in response to adversities, which enables him to overcome them. the text also indicates the essentially human dimensions, emphasizing the homo religiosus dynamics and the noetic dimension as fundamental factors in the process of identifying, confronting and overcoming suffering.

Abstract: the price of money, as the price of any financial asset, can be determined through asset pricing theory. based on this approach, this paper presents a concise survey of the following topics of monetary theory: i) price of money: bubbles versus fundamentals; ii) multiple equilibria; iii) price level indeterminacy; iv) optimum quantity of money; v) hyperinflation; vi) currency substitution, and vii) price of money rigidity.
Correla??o entre os testes da caminhada, marcha estacionária e TUG em hipertensas idosas
Pedrosa, R;Holanda, G;
Brazilian Journal of Physical Therapy , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-35552009005000030
Abstract: background: the increase in chronic diseases among older adults, especially systemic arterial hypertension, a disease that is closely related to declining functional capacity, has created the need to study methods for activity evaluation in order to detect functional capacity levels, prescribe exercises and monitor motor and cardiovascular function. the six-minute walk test (6mwt), two-minute step test (2mst) and timed up and go test (tug) are indicated for such evaluations. studies among healthy older adults have shown associations between these tests, thus aiding the evaluation of functional capacity. however, there are no studies on the relationships between the 6mwt, 2mst and tug among hypertensive individuals, thus justifying the present research. objectives: to investigate whether there is any association between aerobic endurance and functional mobility among hypertensive older women. methods:this was a cross-sectional observational and analytical study on 32 hypertensive older women who were evaluated using the 6mwt, 2mst and tug. results:there was a moderate positive correlation between the 6mwt and 2mst (r=0.36; p=0.04), and there were moderate negative correlations between the 6mwt and tug (r=-0.59; p=0.000) and between the 2mst and tug (r=-0.66; p=0.000). conclusions: for hypertensive older women, the 6mwt can be replaced by the 2mst; the same applied to healthy older adults. regarding the correlation between the 6mwt, 2mst and tug, it can be concluded that there is a close relationship between cardiovascular endurance and functional mobility. when there is lower cardiovascular endurance, there is precarious functional mobility and vice versa.
