The Biological Pigments in Plants Physiology  [PDF]
Arturo Solís Herrera
Agricultural Sciences (AS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/as.2015.610121
Abstract: The physiology of the plants has come to be a formidable challenge. Despite best efforts, the mysteries remain, most of the processes identified cannot be played in vitro, and to date it cannot be said that knowledge about the complex biochemical processes of the plant is understood properly. The need to produce food is an emergency in the world, so any knowledge that will allow us to advance in this sense is important. Our discovery about the intrinsic property of melanin transform light energy into chemical energy by means of the dissociation of the molecule of water, such as chlorophyll in plants, represents a turning point in relation to the chemical reaction so far considered the most important in the world: photosynthesis.
Higher \A-genera on certain non-spin $S^1$-manifolds
Haydee Herrera,Rafael Herrera
Mathematics , 2009,
Abstract: We prove the vanishing of higher A-hat-genera, in the sense of Browder and Hsiang, on smooth manifolds with effective circle actions and with finite second and fourth homotopy groups
Complex contact manifolds and circle actions
Haydee Herrera,Rafael Herrera
Mathematics , 2009,
Abstract: We prove rigidity and vanishing theorems for several holomorphic Euler characteristics on complex contact manifolds admitting holomorphic circle actions preserving the contact structure. Such vanishings are reminiscent of those of LeBrun and Salamon on Fano contact manifolds but under a symmetry assumption instead of a curvature condition.
Folios , 2007,
Abstract: this article presents a review of the integration of ict in language teaching. this text is structured into three sections which promote the educational use of new technologies as cognitive tools, in other words expand the functions of cognitive tools, enhance and reorganize the capabilities of students not as a mere container or transmitter of information. in addition, this article presents an analysis of educational software from the pedagogical approach, focusing on those that promote reflexive learning. finally, three proposals are discussed for the integrating of ict for teaching languages through simulators, webquest and wikis.
Abstract: the purpose of this article is to study the appearances of the death signin juan carlos mestre?s la poesía ha caído en desgracia. for that, the relations between autorreflexive sense, the performance of a resistance writing (understood as "smaller writing") and the modern context with which this poetry dialogues have been considered.
Abstract: for health care practitioners working in nutrition is most important to understand evidence based tools in particular to evaluate nutritional status individually and within populations thus they can select the optimal intervention and document it. countries such as venezuela are immerse in a process called ?nutrition transition? where the characteristic coexistence of under and over nutrition are frequent even within the same family. it is important to count on standardized models that allow and guide the nutritional evaluation, intervention and monitoring to obtain successful changes in correcting the inadequate nutritional situation at individual level and as population. we aim to introduce and encourage the use of ada nutrition care process (ncp) by health care practitioners related to nutrition field as well as understand the feasibility of its application as an efficient and based evidence tool in developing countries, and fully describe its four phases: first phase nutrition assessment: it is encouraged the use of appropriate methods and tools. second phase, nutrition diagnosis identifies and labels the problem, determining possible causes and contributing risk factors. third phase: nutrition intervention, consist of a purposefully planned actions designed with the intent of changing a nutrition related behavior, risk factor, environmental condition, or aspect of health status. fourth phase: nutrition monitoring and evaluation: refers to the review and measurement of the success of the intervention. documenting this information is encouraged because it promotes a way to monitor the outcomes effectively, that can be replicated due to the standardized patterns it follows.
Abstract: animal parasitoses, such as american trypanosomiasis or chagas disease, are principally enzootic diseases or zoonoses, in which humans, as the last step in the zoological chain, participate as accidental hosts in the transmission cycle. one of the great needs within the study of these parasitoses is to identify the hosts in each ecosystem where the disease is prevalent and determine their role as reservoirs. in this review, some of the issues and concepts covered by different authors in relation to primary and secondary mammalian hosts are discussed. a list of mammalian species that are naturally infected by trypanosoma cruzi, the causal agent of chagas disease, together with the original bibliographical references has been included.
Obras y proyectos , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-28132011000200001
Abstract: during the chile centre-south 27th february 2010 earthquake, many structures were strongly shaken due to considerable horizontal accelerations; however, the vertical acceleration component was important too. this feature has motivated this work, where the vertical acceleration component effect on reinforced concrete slabs is studied, when this acceleration acts on the slab edges. the methodology contemplated a computer software written in matlab code. this program uses the fem and allows the calculation of stresses and strains in the slab. initially a static analysis was carried out, which consisted of calculating the stress distributions generated by a uniformly distributed static load according to the norm nch 1537of.86. subsequently, the seismic analysis consisted of obtaining the stress envelopes caused by the vertical acceleration recording of san pedro de la paz for the 27/02/2010 earthquake. the theoretical framework, the femformulation and the numerical validation of the results are presented. then, two slabs with different geometry are analysed with the purpose of estimating the stress distributions for the static case and the stress envelopes for the seismic case; as well as the natural frequencies and periods for each slab. the results reveal that stresses induced by the static loads are higher than the induced by the seismic loading for the slab with a fundamental period of 0.031 s, whilst the contrary resulted for the slab with a fundamental period of 0.104 s.
Revista Pilquen , 2010,
Abstract: this article shows the importance of education and human resources investment, source of income generation, economic growth and development. for this purpose, studies the human capital theory and endogenous growth models, which consider the knowledge and human capital as determinants of economic growth in the long term and justify the state`s intervention due to the presence of externalities. the paper also discusses the theoretical and empirical relationship education - income by education levels and public and private sectors of the comarca viedma - carmen de patagones, based on data from the household survey provided by the indec.
Tachyon-Chaplygin inflation on the brane
Herrera, Ramon
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2008, DOI: 10.1007/s10714-008-0703-8
Abstract: Tachyon-Brane inflationary universe model in the context of a Chaplygin gas equation of state is studied. General conditions for this model to be realizable are discussed. In the high-energy limit and by using an exponential potential we describe in great details the characteristic of this model. Recent observational data from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe experiment are employed to restrict the parameters of the model.
