A Literature Review of the Connotation Dimensions of Entrepreneur Concepts in the Context of Confucian Culture  [PDF]

Abstract:
Entrepreneurs are the backbone of reform and opening up and have made significant contributions to the prosperity of China’s economy. However, entrepreneurial theory is an exotic product that is rooted in Western culture. So, in the context of Confucian culture, how is the concept of entrepreneurs defined? What is the similarity between its connotation and the Western “entrepreneur”? Excavating the characteristics of “entrepreneur” under the background of Confucian culture is not only the need to construct the management theory of Chinese characteristics, but also has great practical significance for the cultivation and creation of Chinese entrepreneurs. This study cuts through the Confucian cultural perspective, and comprehensively and systematically sorts out the development of entrepreneurial theories in each period, with a view to drawing lessons from the entrepreneurial theory under the Confucian cultural context.
A Novel Angular Acceleration Sensor Based on the Electromagnetic Induction Principle and Investigation of Its Calibration Tests

Abstract: An angular acceleration sensor can be used for the dynamic analysis of human and joint motions. In this paper, an angular acceleration sensor with novel structure based on the principle of electromagnetic induction is designed. The method involves the construction of a constant magnetic field by the excitation windings of sensor, and the cup-shaped rotor that cut the magnetic field. The output windings of the sensor generate an electromotive force, which is directly proportional to the angular acceleration through the electromagnetic coupling when the rotor has rotational angular acceleration. The mechanical structure and the magnetic working circuit of the sensor are described. The output properties and the mathematical model including the transfer function and state-space model of the sensor are established. The asymptotical stability of the sensor when it is working is verified by the Lyapunov Theorem. An angular acceleration calibration device based on the torsional pendulum principle is designed. The method involves the coaxial connection of the angular acceleration sensor, torsion pendulum and a high-precision angle sensor, and then an initial external force is applied to the torsion pendulum to produce a periodic damping angle oscillation. The angular acceleration sensor and the angle sensor will generate two corresponding electrical signals. The sensitivity coefficient of the angular acceleration sensor can be obtained after processing these two-channel signals. The experiment results show that the sensitivity coefficient of the sensor is about 17.29 mv/Krad·s 2. Finally, the errors existing in the practical applications of the sensor are discussed and the corresponding improvement measures are proposed to provide effective technical support for the practical promotion of the novel sensor.

Abstract: The syntactic priming is not only a very important repetitive priming phenomenon, it is also important for studying the syntactic representation and the speech production mechanism. Since the priming is related to the selecting process of the target sentences, it is of serious requirement for both the experimental materials and paradigms. The main questions studied in the syntactic priming correlates with the construction, the syntactic hierarchy and the representation of verbs, etc. Mastering the syntactic priming’s experimental paradigm and knowing the corresponding research questions would be of great significance to studying the syntactic representation and the syntactic teaching in the field of teaching Chinese as a second language.
Study on Petal-Sepal Mutant of Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) after Space Mutation  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, we studied the morphological, histological and photosynthetic characteristics of the stably inherited sunflower petal-sepal mutant, and it was obtained by the space radiation-induced mutagenesis. Afterwards, we got following results: 1) The morphological characteristics represented that the inflorescence of petal-sepal mutant maintained the appearance and structure of capitulum, whereas no explicit tubular flower or ligulate flower was differentiated. 2) The histological characteristics revealed that the petal-sepal mutant only completed the inflorescence development and the differentiation of sepal primordia and inflorescence primordia, without entering the differentiation stage of tubular flower primordia, ligulate flower primordia, stamen primordia or pistil primordia. 3) The photosynthetic characteristics showed that the photosynthetic rate, transpiration and stomatal conductance of petal-sepal mutant were relatively weaker than the control plants. In the end, we concluded that the petal-sepal mutant of sunflower had only inflorescence differentiation, while several mutant genes were caused by radiation-induced mutation, which entered an infinitely recurrent development process rather than the floral differentiation stage. We also observed a few chloroplast structures in the paraffin section, combined with the results of photosynthetic characteristics of petal-sepal mutant, and then we believed that the inflorescence of petal-sepal mutant was involved in photosynthesis to accumulate energy for plant growth.

Abstract: By using Wen Qiufang's Questionnaire on English Learning Strategies, 93 students from thirteen different majors in Beijing University of Technology are surveyed about their use of metacognitive strategies and self-learning on line. Based on the survey, the relationship between metacognitive strategies and online-learning behavior & test achievements is analyzed with suggestions for strategy training and ability development.

Abstract: This paper uses the opening speech given by president Obama at a prime time news conference commemorating his first 100th day in office as the sample and tries to explore how interpersonal meaning is achieved from the perspective of Functional Grammar and with the focus on mood, modal auxiliary, personal pronouns in pronoun system, and tense shift. The finding shows that Obama makes full use of the language to achieve his political purpose in his speech by using different devices to fulfill interpersonal meaning.

Abstract: Noble metal Ag nanoparticles with unique surface plasmon resonance property have attracted much attention recently in the field of photocatalysis. Based on the advantages of Ag nanoparticles and semiconductor CeO2, a novel plasmonic photocatalyst Ag-AgCl/CeO2 was prepared with a facile route. The as-prepared samples were characterized using scanning and transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV-vis diffusion re?ection spectroscopy. This metal-semiconductor nanocomposite plasmonic photocatalyst exhibited a high visible-light photocatalytic activity and good stability for photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange in water. Ag-AgCl/CeO2 will be a potentially promising plasmonic photocatalysts for organic pollutant degradation and water purification.

Abstract: In empirical finance, it is well-known that the volatility of asset returns is highly persistent. The persistence of the volatility process may be checked by testing for a unit root on stochastic volatility models. In this paper, a Bayesian test statistic based on decision theory is developed for testing a unit root on multivariate stochastic volatility models. At last, the developed approach is applied to investigate the persistent effect of financial crisis on the two main stock markets in China.

Abstract: In this paper, the boundary layer equations (abbreviation BLE) for exterior flow around an obstacle are established using semi-geodesic coordinate system (S-coordinate) based on the curved two dimensional surface of the obstacle. BLE are nonlinear partial differential equations on unknown normal viscous stress tensor and pressure on the obstacle and the existence of solution of BLE is proved. In addition a dimensional split method for dimensional three Navier-Stokes equations is established by applying several 2D-3C partial differential equations on two dimensional manifolds to approach 3D Navier-Stokes equations. The examples for the exterior flow around spheroid and ellipsoid are presents here.
Model Selection for High Dimensional Quadratic Regression via Regularization

Abstract: Quadratic regression (QR) models naturally extend linear models by considering interaction effects between the covariates. To conduct model selection in QR, it is important to maintain the hierarchical model structure. Existing regularization methods generally achieve this by solving complex optimization problems, which demands high computational cost and hence make them infeasible for high dimensional data analysis. This paper presents a new scalable regularization method, called Regularization Algorithm under Marginality Principle (RAMP), for model selection in high dimensional QR. The hierarchy-preserving regularization path can be computed efficiently by RAMP. Two-stage regularization methods are also studied. These methods are then extended to generalized QR models.
