Determining the transcriptional regulation pattern of PgTIP1 in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana by constructing gene  [PDF]

Abstract: The seed size, seed mass, and growth rate of transgenic Arabidopsis plants containing PgTIP1, a ginseng tonoplast aquaporin gene, are significantly higher than those of wild-type Arabidopsis plants. Whole genome expression and bioinformatics analysis, including analysis of co-expression networks and transcription factors (Tfscan), were used to determine the key genes that are activated after the expression of PgTIP1 and the transcription factors that play important roles in the regulation of the genes controlling growth of Arabidopsis thaliana seeds by using transgenic Arabidopsis plants containing PgTIP1. Differential gene analysis showed that transformation of exogenous PgTIP1 to Arabidopsis induced endogenous gene expression changes. Analysis of gene co-expression networks revealed 2 genes, PIP1 (plasma membrane aquaporin 1 gene) and RD26 (responsive to desiccation 26 gene; a NAC transcription factor), that were localized in the core of the networks. Analysis of the transcriptional regulation network of transgenic Arabidopsis plants containing PgTIP1 showed that PIP1 and RD26 were regulated via DNA binding with a finger domain on transcription factor 2 (Dof2). In this study, we demonstrated that Dof2 induces up-regulation of PIP1 and RD26 after transformation with PgTIP1. The results of this study provide a new means for conducting research into and controlling growth of Arabidopsis thaliana seeds.

Abstract: After the occurrence of unexpected group events of network, the relevant opinion information will spread rapidly through micro-blog, and the negative public opinion information will aggravate the unexpected the group events to upgrade and expand the scope of harm. It is difficult to deal. So public opinion control is very important. In this paper, we establish an influence model for spreading of public opinion based on SIR model. Through the political analysis, this paper finds that the network group events will subside, but the influence scope, time and ability of event cannot be ignored. As a result of this study, the corresponding strategies are put forward in this paper.

Abstract: At this stage, China society in conflict-prone period, the network group events developed rapidly. Network group events had a significant impact on society. The trend which the online group event evolved into the offline group incidents is becoming evident. In this paper, we used grounded theory to study the evolution and the development process of network group events under the micro-blog platform. We present an evolution mechanism model of network group event under micro-blog platform and find the formation mechanism of the network of public opinion, intrinsic motivation and the evolution of the network group events.

Research on Network Group Event Recognition Based on Neural Network  [PDF]

Abstract: Sina Weibo is one of China’s most popular SNS platforms, which has a large number of user groups. Nowadays, the public opinion on Sina Weibo has great influence and significantly affects the social reality. This paper defines the network group events from aspects of the nature of the incident and influence and establishes a neural network of pattern recognition model that is used to fit the model. The model can recognize the network group events through continuous three days’ various topics growth rate. By programing a crawler, we get the data of 23 hot events on Sina Weibo from 2011 to 2015 for neural network training. The training results of pattern recognition model show that the accuracy rate of the judgment of the Internet Group events and the non-network group events is 72.7% and 75% respectively. The overall accuracy was 73.9%.
Performing Admission Control Concurrently in Core-stateless Networks

Abstract: In this paper we propose a concurrent admission control scheme for the QoS sensitivity traffic in core-stateless networks. In this scheme, the ingress router of core-stateless network domain is capable of performing admissibility test in concurrent for requests by per-assigning core-link resource to each edge routers. Then, we introduce a novel two phase token passing mechanism to adaptively optimize the proportion of bandwidth dividing among contending edge routers according to the dynamic of their traffic. In addition, we adopt a measurement based admission decisionmaking criterion to gain the benefit of high utilization of statistical multiplexing. Our simulation results are very promising indicating that even under very high request load it is possible to perform admission control and resource allocation in concurrent without suffering in terms of response time, packet loss rate, or utilization.

Abstract: A novel series of resveratrol derivatives were synthesized according to Wittig-Horner reaction with 3,5-dihydroxybenzyl alcohol or 3,5-dimethoxybenzyl alcohol or 4-hydroxybenzyl alcohol as raw material and the inhibitory activities on breast carcinoma (MDA-MB-231) and gastric carcinoma cell lines (SGC-7901) in vitro were evaluated by the standard methyl thiazole tetrazolium (MTT) method. The result of biological test shows that some of resveratrol derivatives possess stronger anti-cancer activities than 5-FU. Compound 5c shows the strongest activity against breast carcinoma (MDA-MB-231) and gastric carcinoma cell lines (SGC-7901) with IC50 value of 50.19 ± 1.02 μM, 122.68.27 ± 2.04 μM, compared to that IC50 value of 5-FU is 98.59±3.61 μM,156.74±6.16 μM, respectively.
Intermolecular interactions governing the partition between particulate and gas phases for typical organic pollutants

Abstract: The partition coefficients between particulate and gas phases (K p) for organic pollutants are of great importance to characterize the behavior of organic pollutants in atmosphere, and are basic data needed by ecological risk assessment. Partial least squares (PLS) regression with 16 theoretical molecular structural descriptors was used to develop polyparameter linear free energy relationship (LFER) model for K p of 18 aliphatic hydrocarbons, 21 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), 16 polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and 13 polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs). The obtained model has a good predictive ability and robustness, which can be used for estimating K p of chemicals with similar structures. Intermolecular dispersive interactions play a leading role in governing K p, followed by charge-transfer interactions and hindrance effects of molecular size. The respective models developed for different group compounds imply that the action mechanism is similar, and dipole-dipole and dipole-induced dipole interactions play a minor role in governing K p of n-alkanes, PCBs and PCDD/Fs.
Variability of surface circulation in the South China Sea from satellite altimeter data

Abstract: 11-year satellite altimeter sea surface height (SSH) anomaly data from January 1993 to December 2003 are used to present the dominant spatial patterns and temporal variations of the South China Sea (SCS) surface circulation through Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) analysis. The first three EOF modes show the obvious seasonal variations of SSH in the SCS. EOF mode one is generally characterized by a basin-wide circulation. Mode two describes the double-cell basin scale circulation structure. The two cells were located off west of the Luzon Island and southeast of Vietnam, respectively. EOF mode three presents the mesoscale eddy structure in the western SCS, which develops into a strong cyclonic eddy rapidly from July to September. EOF mode one and mode three are also embedded with interannual signals, indicating that the SCS surface circulation variation is influenced by El Ni o events prominently. The strong El Ni o of 1997/98 obviously changed the SCS circulation structure. This study also shows that there existed a series of mesoscale eddies in the western SCS, and their temporal variation indicates intra-seasonal and interannual signals.
