Capacity-Optimized Access Scheduling Control for Heterogeneous MANETs with MIMO Links  [PDF]

Abstract: Multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) technique can significantly improve transmission reliability and bandwidth efficiency in wireless networks. However, many upper layer aspects of MIMO links, especially in mobile networks with heterogeneous antennas and strong interference environments, need further investigation. In this paper, we study its impact on medium access and network capacity. Since MIMO links can enhance physical layer capacity and co-channel interference suppression that affects network access scheduling directly, we develop a capacity-optimized access scheduling control (COASC) scheme for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) with MIMO links. We formulate the distributed scheduling taking the key of optimization into design to improve the network capacity and transmission reliability. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
Phase field modeling of multiple dendrite growth of Al-Si binary alloy under isothermal solidifi cation

Abstract: Phase field method offers the prospect of being able to perform realistic numerical experiments on dendrite growth in metallic systems. In this study, the growth process of multiple dendrites in Al-2-mole-%-Si binary alloy under isothermal solidifi cation was simulated using phase fi eld model. The simulation results showed the impingement of arbitrarily oriented crystals and the competitive growth among the grains during solidifi cation. With the increase of growing time, the grains begin to coalesce and impinge the adjacent grains. When the dendrites start to impinge, the dendrite growth is obviously inhibited.

Abstract: a diacid monomer of benzobisoxazole 2, 6-di(p-phenylene-carboxylic) acid (bbodpa) was synthesized in a simple procedure, and characterized by means of ftir, 1h nmr and 13c nmr. the resulting bbodpa was polymerized with 3, 3'-diaminobenzidine tetrahydrochloride (dab) to prepare poly (bibenzimidazole-p-phenyl-benzobisoxazole) (pbbibbo) in polyphosphonc acid. the inherent viscosities values of pbbibbo indicated that it was a kind of high molecular weight polymer. the structure of pbbibbo was confirmed by 1h nmr, 13c nmr and ftir. thermal properties and dissolubility of pbbibbo were also investigated. these results showed that pbbibbo exhibited good thermal stability.

Abstract: A polysilicon separated CMOS Schottky barrier diode is designed and tested in this study. By replacing the shallow trench isolation (STI) of a ploy ring, the series resistances of Schottky diodes are reduced, leading to an improvement in cut-off frequencies. The device structure is detailed and a device model is developed. Our analysis on the device shows that the cut-off frequency increases with the decreasing of the Schottky contact area. Based on this observation, the Schottky contact area is set to 0.38×0.38μm2, which is the minimum contact diffusion area allowed by the process flow. The distance between the anode and the cathode is also discussed. Diodes with different dimensions are fabricated and measured. Through extensive measurements, the optimum dimensions are obtained. Bond-pads with a reduced area are used to improve the measurement accuracy. The measurement results show that these diodes can achieve a cut-off frequency of 1.5THz. Thus, it is possible to use these diodes in THz detection.

Abstract: 以缅甸帕敢地区含硬玉岩的蛇纹石化橄榄岩及其围岩-未细分的变质岩为研究对象,较详细地研究了各类岩石的岩相学,岩石化学及主要矿物的组成,认为该区超基性岩为含铬铁矿的蛇纹石化纯橄岩,它的围岩由含多硅白母蓝闪石片岩,石榴斜长角闪岩,大理岩及透辉石大理岩,石英岩等构成。通过其中典型的变质反应分析与计算,认为围岩的变质程度分别为蓝闪石片岩相和的高角闪岩相,其中蓝闪石片岩相的压力大于0.8-1.0GPa,斜长角闪岩相的温度为582度,通过对比分析世界上不同产地硬玉岩的特征,认为硬玉岩,尤其是优质者,产出环境如下:(1)容矿岩体属超基性岩,以含铬铁矿的纯橄岩为最佳;(2)围岩中存在低温高压变质岩,即蓝闪石片岩-榴辉岩类;(3)位于与俯冲带有关大地构造单元内。
Functional Characterization of a Wheat NHX Antiporter Gene TaNHX2 That Encodes a K+/H+ Exchanger

Abstract: The subcellular localization of a wheat NHX antiporter, TaNHX2, was studied in Arabidopsis protoplasts, and its function was evaluated using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a heterologous expression system. Fluorescence patterns of TaNHX2-GFP fusion protein in Arabidopsis cells indicated that TaNHX2 localized at endomembranes. TaNHX2 has significant sequence homology to NHX sodium exchangers from Arabidopsis, is abundant in roots and leaves and is induced by salt or dehydration treatments. Western blot analysis showed that TaNHX2 could be expressed in transgenic yeast cells. Expressed TaNHX2 protein suppressed the salt sensitivity of a yeast mutant strain by increasing its K+ content when exposed to salt stress. TaNHX2 also increased the tolerance of the strain to potassium stress. However, the expression of TaNHX2 did not affect the sodium concentration in transgenic cells. Western blot analysis for tonoplast proteins indicated that the TaNHX2 protein localized at the tonoplast of transgenic yeast cells. The tonoplast vesicles from transgenic yeast cells displayed enhanced K+/H+ exchange activity but very little Na+/H+ exchange compared with controls transformed with the empty vector; Na+/H+ exchange was not detected with concentrations of less than 37.5 mM Na+ in the reaction medium. Our data suggest that TaNHX2 is a endomembrane-bound protein and may primarily function as a K+/H+ antiporter, which is involved in cellular pH regulation and potassium nutrition under normal conditions. Under saline conditions, the protein mediates resistance to salt stress through the intracellular compartmentalization of potassium to regulate cellular pH and K+ homeostasis.
Spatial Analysis of Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome in Zibo City, China, 2009–2012

Abstract: Background Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is highly endemic in mainland China, where human cases account for 90% of the total global cases. Zibo City is one of the most serious affected areas in Shandong Province China with the HFRS incidence increasing sharply from 2009 to 2012. However, the hotspots of HFRS in Zibo remained unclear. Thus, a spatial analysis was conducted with the aim to explore the spatial, spatial-temporal and seasonal patterns of HFRS in Zibo from 2009 to 2012, and to provide guidance for formulating regional prevention and control strategies. Methods The study was based on the reported cases of HFRS from the National Notifiable Disease Surveillance System. Annualized incidence maps and seasonal incidence maps were produced to analyze the spatial and seasonal distribution of HFRS in Zibo City. Then spatial scan statistics and space-time scan statistics were conducted to identify clusters of HFRS. Results There were 200 cases reported in Zibo City during the 4-year study period. One most likely cluster and one secondary cluster for high incidence of HFRS were identified by the space-time analysis. And the most likely cluster was found to exist at Yiyuan County in October to December 2012. The human infections in the fall and winter reflected a seasonal characteristic pattern of Hantaan virus (HTNV) transmission. The secondary cluster was detected at the center of Zibo in May to June 2009, presenting a seasonal characteristic of Seoul virus (SEOV) transmission. Conclusion To control and prevent HFRS in Zibo city, the comprehensive preventive strategy should be implemented in the southern areas of Zibo in autumn and in the northern areas of Zibo in spring.

Abstract: In the title compound, C13H9Br2N3O, the molecular skeleton, influenced by an intramolecular O—H...N hydrogen bond, is roughly planar, with a mean deviation of 0.033 . In the crystal, intermolecular N—H...O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains propagating in [100]. Weak intermolecular π–π interactions [centroid–centroid distances = 3.760 (3) and 3.723 (3) ] further consolidate the packing.
