Essential Oil Composition of Artemisia scoparia Waldst. & Kitag from Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau of China  [PDF]

Abstract: The oils extracted by hydro distillation from the aerial parts of Artemisia scoparia waldst. & kitag growing wild in two regions on Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau were analyzed by GC-MS. Eighty-three components were identified representing 97.5% of the total components detected. The major constituents of the oil from the samples obtained in the eastern of Riyue Mountain (2700 - 3200 m) were 2-ethenyl-naphthalene (45.1%), beta-pinene (11.2%), 3-carene (8.7%), 3,7-dimethyl-1,3,6- octatriene (7.9%), limonene (5.4%), alpha-pinene (3.5%) and beta-myrcene (2.0%). Whereas the oil from the plant collected in Qilian Mountain (3300 - 3500 m) was composed mainly of thujone (21.4%), 1,8-cineole (18.9%), camphor (9.1%), 4-methyl-1-(1-methyl ethyl)-3-cyclo hexen-1-ol (7.8%), 4-methyl-1-(1-methylethyl)-bicyclo[3.1.0]hexan-3-one (5.3%) and 2-isopropyl-5-methyl- 3-cyclohexen-1-one(5.0%).

Abstract: A new and simple gas chromatographic (GC) method using flame ionization detector (FID) and mass spectrometry (MS) for the simultaneous determination of eight fatty alcohols in 10 mg policosanol film-coated tablets was established and applied to the quality control (QC) of policosanol film-coated tablets. A DB-35MS capillary column (30 m × 0.32 mm, 0.25 um) was employed for the separation. GC-FID was used to quantitatively analyze the eight ingredients with 1-eicosanol as internal standard, three of which were identified using GC-MS due to the lack of standard. The linearity, accuracy, precision, stability, robustness and sensitivity within the detection limits were evaluated. The average recovery of the method was 96.3-100.4% and linearity was (R > 0.999). The average drug content was found to be 96.8% of the labeled amount (10 mg).

Abstract: The lignin sulfonate was modified with olefins monomer by the method of radiation graft polymerization, by which a new type of natural polymer flocculants can be made. And results of the flocculation and sedimentation are tested in the furfural wastewater treatment process. Furfural wastewater is a complex composition, whose COD is about 20000mg / L, is difficult to be treated by conventional methods. Our results showed that the kind of flocculants can remove 50 percent COD or more from furfural wastewater after aerating and adjusting pH value to 9.
Global existence and incompressible limit in critical spaces for compressible flow of liquid crystals

Abstract: The Cauchy problem for the compressible flow of nematic liquid crystals in the framework of critical spaces is considered. We first establish the existence and uniqueness of global solutions provided that the initial data are close to some equilibrium states. This result improves the work by Hu and Wu [SIAM J. Math. Anal., 45 (2013), pp. 2678-2699] through relaxing the regularity requirement of the initial data in terms of the director field. We then consider the incompressible limit problem for ill prepared initial data. We prove that as the Mach number tends to zero, the global solution to the compressible flow of liquid crystals converges to the solution to the corresponding incompressible model in some function spaces. Moreover, the accurate converge rates are obtained.
Risk Factors of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer with Bone Metastasis after Therapy

Abstract: Background and objective Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths, patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) usually have distant metastases, such as bone metastasis, brain metastasis, and lung metastasis. The purpose of this study was to explore the risk factors for bone metastasis in NSCLC patients. Methods A total of 176 cases of NSCLC were selected from May 2009 to May 2011, and patients were divided into two groups, namely the bone metastasis group and non-bone metastasis group. The general clinicopathological data of the two groups and analyzing the independent risk factors of bone metastasis were compared. Results In the general clinicopathological data of NSCLC patients. The thrombus or not and tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage were closely related to the occurrence of bone metastasis, and were statistically significant (all P<0.01). Prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time, Fibrinogen, thrombin time, blood platelet, D-Dimer and alkaline phosphatase have significantly difference between the two groups (all P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that fibrinogen, activated partial thromboplast in time, alkaline phosphatase, T4 phase, N3 phase and d-dimer were independent risk factors for bone metastasis in NSCLC patients. Conclusion Fibrinogen, alkaline phosphatase, T3, N2 stage and D-Dimer is the independent risk factors of bone metastases in patients with NSCLC.?

Abstract: Relatively short historical catch records show that anchovy populations have exhibited large variability over multi-decadal timescales.In order to understand the driving factors(anthropogenic and/or natural) of such variability,it is essential to develop long-term time series of the population prior to the occurrence of notable anthropogenic impact.Well-preserved fish scales in the sediments are regarded as useful indicators reflecting the fluctuations of fish populations over the last centuries.This study aims to validate the anchovy scale deposition rate as a proxy of local anchovy biomass in the Yellow Sea adjoining the western North Pacific.Our reconstructed results indicated that over the last 150 years,the population size of anchovy in the Yellow Sea has exhibited great fluctuations with periodicity of around 50 years,and the pattern of current recovery and collapse is similar to that of historical records.The pattern of large-scale population synchrony with remote ocean basins provides further evidence proving that fish population dynamics are strongly affected by global and basin-scale oceanic/climatic variability
Study on Urban Residents’ Willingness to Buy the Products of Rural Tourism  [PDF]

Abstract: The level of value injected into the rural economy is dependent consumers acceptance of rural tourism. Data was obtained through primary research conducted in the three provinces in China of Hunan, Guangdong and Gansu, the paper explores urban residents’ attitude to rural tourism and then estimates their willingness to pay for rural tourism products, utilizing hypothesis-evaluation to find a valid conclusion. The results show that their willingness is affected by gender, educational background, level of income; personal travel frequency, tourism form, aggregate demand form rural tourism, acceptance for rural tourism and the price of tourism in other cities have significant effect on their willingness to pay. The WTP proves that urban residents are usually willing to pay 35.1% more for non-rural tourism than they are for rural tourism.

In mature marketing, general perception towards AIDA is that most enterprises will lay emphasis directly on value proposition of a product or services, and encourage clients going to each step of AIDA layers, finally to increase the total number of final step, say enlarging the number of actual buying action. However to some extent, the efficiency of such a simple model appears strongly inadequate. Based on AIDA theory and market feature of universities via e-bank at China Construction Bank (CCB) , this paper has introduced a new marketing model which present a new value proposition (new value proposition is attempting to focus on practical-teaching innovation and job competency improvement) to accelerate AIDA marketing activities at university market, the outcome further helps to grow AIDA at bigger market groups. Finding of this paper shows new model greatly improved marketing efficiency of e-bank services from CCB at university market, and it also unfolds a new perspective in marketing of the enterprises.

Ecological Conservation and Construction in China: Progress and Situation  [PDF]

Since late 1990s, China has made smooth progress in ecological conservation and construction. Now, the following characteristics of ecological protection are presented: 1) China is still facing severe challenges in ecological conservation and construction; 2) The advanced areas with extensive growth model and the underdeveloped areas that are ecologically sensitive co-exist in China; and 3) As a country in transition, China needs to explore national pathway for ecological protection, while facing the trends of being institutionalized, integrated and necessitated for the global ecological protection efforts. The key of ecological protection in China is to seek an optimal model and an effective pathway which can balance economic growth and environmental protection, to recognize the difference and non-replicability of ecosystems, and to effectively combine the institutional development and engineering construction of ecological protection.

Abstract: In researching channel relation it can be found that different negotiating abilities (channel power) decide commitment levels and different commitment levels decide the choice of channel model if we research the channel model choice of forest products in the perspective of channel members’ commitments. So leading enterprises, forest growers and distributors need to decide their commitment level according to their own negotiating ability in the channel system, and then choose right channel model.
