The Seroepidemiology of the Chronic Infections in Patient with Myocardial Infraction in North of Iran
Hadi Bazzazi,Ezzat Allah Ghaemi,Mohammad Ali Ramezani
Journal of Research in Medical Sciences , 2010,
Abstract: Myocardial Infraction (MI) is one of the most causes of morbidity and mortality in industrial and developing countries. Recent studies have suggested that chronic infections with Chlamydia pneumoniae (Cpn) and Helicobacter pylori (Hp) may be associated with the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). Determining risk factor of the CHD is of huge significance, so we executed the comparative study of antibody level to Chlamydia pneumoniae and Helicobacter pylori in patients with MI and healthy control in North of Iran. A cross sectional study was conducted on 140 citizens includes 70 cases and 70 controls that matched in age and sex. Seroprevalence was assessed by commercial ELISA tests measuring IgA and IgG antibodies to Cpn and Hp in sera. In this study, our results indicated that among patients, %11.4 was seropositive for Anti-Cpn IgA, %90.0 was seropositive for Anti-Cpn IgG, %51.4 was seropositive for Anti-Hp IgA and %58.6 was seropositive for Anti-Hp IgG. The present study shows that %68.57 of patients and %69.86 of controls are seropositive for anti-Hp specific IgA and IgG antibodies. Our findings show that previous infection to Cpn in patients with MI is important. But there are no significant association between infection with Hp as evidenced by elevated antibodies to Hp and MI.

Journal of Research in Medical Sciences , 2007,
Abstract: BACKGROUND: The prevalence of allergy and asthma among children is increasing in many countries. However, such inclination has not been completely cleared in North of Iran. This study was carried out to evaluate the prevalence of asthma and allergic diseases in school children in Gorgan and also to evaluate the association between allergies and sex, family history of atopic disorders, and personal symptomatic atopy. METHODS: This was a cross-sectional study and the study population included 2800 school children aged 12 to 13 (53% female and 47% male). All participants completed an ISAAC (International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood) written questionnaire. RESULTS: Among the selected children, 7% were asthmatic, 19% had eczema during the last 6 months, and 35.3% had rhinitis. Family history of allergy included 8.4% asthma, 22.1% rhinitis and 12% eczema. CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of asthma is higher in boys compared with girls. There was a strong relation between family history of atopy and allergic diseases and asthma in children.

A Critical Appraisal of Grice’s Cooperative Principle  [PDF]
Atefeh Hadi
Open Journal of Modern Linguistics (OJML) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ojml.2013.31008
Abstract:

Grice’s most influential contribution to linguistics is his theory of implicatures. He describes communication as adhering to what he calls the Cooperative Principle (CP) and argues that a basic underlying assumption we make when we speak to one another is that we are trying to cooperate to construct meaningful conversations (1975). Grice’s Cooperative Principle has been a central and controversial theme in pragmatics. A major source of controversy associated with the CP is that the term “cooperation” is open to different interpretations. In order to develop a thorough understanding of the concept, the CP and conversational implicatures should be studied within the context of Grice’s work. The present article is an attempt to critically examine various representations and interpretations of Grice’s Cooperative Principle.

READING BASED-CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES: AN EFFORT TOWARD THE INTEGRATION OF LANGUAGE SKILLS IN TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN INDONESIA
Hadi Hadi
TEFLIN Journal , 2006,
Abstract: : This paper proposes the implementation of reading-based classroom activities for teaching English as a foreign language in Indonesia. Compared to other language skills, reading is viewed to provide a relatively stable foundation for Indonesian students to develop their communicative competence in English. It is argued that reading-focused activities stimulate confidence for Indonesian learners to get involved in listening, speaking, and writing related-activities in ways that are similar to normal daily life communication. The reasons for the proposed implementation of reading-based classroom activities in TEFLIN and the role of reading and its relation with other language skills are presented.
The Effect of Price Discount on Time-Cost Trade-off Problem Using Genetic Algorithm  [PDF]
Hadi Mokhtari, Abdollah Aghaie
Engineering (ENG) , 2009, DOI: 10.4236/eng.2009.11005
Abstract: Time-cost trade off problem (TCTP), known in the literature as project crashing problem (PCP) and project speeding up problem (PSP) is a part of project management in planning phase. In this problem, determining the optimal levels of activity durations and activity costs which satisfy the project goal(s), leads to a balance between the project completion time and the project total cost. A large amount of literature has studied this problem under various behavior of cost function. But, in all of them, influence of discount has not been in-vestigated. Hence, in this paper, TCTP would be studied considering the influence of discount on the re-source price, using genetic algorithm (GA). The performance of proposed idea has been tested on a medium scale test problem and several computational experiments have been conducted to investigate the appropriate levels of proposed GA considering accuracy and computational time.
An Investigation into the Effect of Porous Medium on Performance of Heat Exchanger  [PDF]
Hadi Dehghan, Peiman Aliparast
World Journal of Mechanics (WJM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/wjm.2011.13011
Abstract: In this paper, a detailed numerical investigation of two-dimensional laminar forced convection in a porous channel with inlet and outlet slot is presented. A uniform heat flux is applied on one wall of channel and another wall is isolated. The flow in the porous medium is modeled using the Brinkman-Forchheimer-extended Darcy model in which the inertia and boundary effects are taken into consideration and thermal dispersion effects are not included in the energy equation. Parametric studies are conducted to evaluate the effects of particle diameter, Reynolds number on the heat transfer and friction factor. Nusselt number and friction factor are developed for efficient design of a porous heat exchanger based on the present configuration. In order to solve this problem Fluent software was used.

Modern Economy (ME) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/me.2016.74046
Abstract: Studying the process of annual balance sheets, interests and losses of Iran Zamin Bank in relation to other banks has a low share. Thus, the rise of guidelines in editing framework of strategic plan is necessary in this bank. The study analyzes the strategic plan of Iran Zamin Bank. It also analyzes the financial implications in balanced score card through the relationship among profitability, productivity and financial growth. We introduced two indexes for productivity. The results are as follows. There’s not any negative and significant relationship between the capitation of profit index and capitation index in terms of administrative costs comparing all costs. There’s a positive and significant relationship between the financial implication indexes and profitability index. There’s a significant and negative relationship between productivity indexes and financial growth index. Therefore, the effect of strategic plan can be evaluated by using the available tools and the organization’s performance can be assessed.
