Artificial Noise Based Security Algorithm for Multi-User MIMO System  [PDF]

Abstract: The existing physical layer security algorithm, which is based on artificial noise, could affect legitimate receivers negatively when the number of users is no less than sending antennas in multi-user MIMO system. In order to improve security of multi-user MIMO system under this scenario, we propose a new multi-user MIMO system physical layer security algorithm based on joint channel state matrix. Firstly, multiple users are processed together, thus a multi-user joint channel state matrix is established. After achieving Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) of the joint channel state matrix, the minimum singular value is obtained, which can be utilized for precoding to eliminate the interference of artificial noise to legitimate receivers. Further, we also present an approach to optimize the power allocation. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can increase secrecy capacity by 0.1 bit/s/HZ averagely.
Renormalization of $NN$ scattering: contact potential

Abstract: The renormalization of the $T$-matrix for $NN$ scattering with a contact potential is reexamined in a nonperturbative regime through rigorous nonperturbative solutions. Based on the underlying theory point of view, it is shown that the UV divergences in the nonperturbative solutions of the $T$-matrix should be subtracted through 'endogenous' counter terms, which in turn leads to a nontrivial prescription dependence. Moreover, employing the effective range expansion, the important procedure for imposing physical boundary conditions to remove the nontrivial prescription dependence is discussed and highlighted, especially before making physical claims. As byproducts, some relations between the effective range expansion parameters are derived. We also discussed the power counting of the couplings for the nucleon-nucleon interactions and other subtle points present within EFT framework beyond perturbative treatment.
A logical framework derived from philosophy of language for analysis of the terms of traditional Chinese medicine and an example for analysis of “kidney essence”

Abstract: The true meanings of the terms of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) need to be analyzed on a logical basis. It is not suitable to use a new term to interpret an old term of TCM, or arbitrarily specify the special term of TCM corresponding to some substances of modern medicine. In philosophy of language, language has a logical structure, which reflects the structure of the world, that is to say, language is the picture of the world in a logical sense. Using this idea, the authors collected the ancient literature on “kidney essence”, and extracted each necessary condition for “kidney essence”. All necessary conditions formed a sufficient condition to define the term “kidney essence”. It is expected that this example can show the effectiveness of philosophy of language in analysis of the terms of TCM.
A Bio-Inspired Algorithm based on Membrane Computing for Engineering Design problem

Abstract: Membrane computing is an emergent branch of natural computing, which has been extensively used to solve various NP-complete and intractable problems. In this paper, a bio-inspired algorithm based on membrane computing (BIAMC) is proposed to solve the engineering design problem. BIAMC is designed with the framework and rules of a cell-like P systems, and particle swarm optimization with the neighborhood search. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the improved algorithm is valid and outperforms other evolutionary algorithms for engineering design problems.

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(NO3)2(C6H6N4S4)]n, the CuII atom, occupying a crystallographic inversion centre, is six-coordinated by two N atoms of two 2,2′-[1,2-ethanediylbis(thio)]bis[1,3,4-thiadiazole] ligands in trans positions, and four O atoms from two symmetry-related opposite nitrate anions, which are asymmetrically bonded, resulting in a strong distorted octahedral geometry of the central atom. The ethane group is equally disordered over two sites via another inversion centre. The bridging bidentate 2,2′-[1,2-ethanediylbis(thio)]bis[1,3,4-thiadiazole] ligands link the CuII centres into a one-dimensional chain. The chains are interconnected via intermolecular S...O interactions [3.044 (4) and 3.084 (5) ] and weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.
Comparative genomic study of gastric epithelial cells co-cultured with Helicobacter pylori

Abstract: AIM: To identify genes potentially involved in Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)-induced gastric carcinogenesis. METHODS: GES-1 cells were co-cultured with H. pylori strains isolated from patients with gastric carcinoma (GC, n = 10) or chronic gastritis (CG, n = 10) for in vitro proliferation and apoptosis assays to identify the most and least virulent strains. These two strains were cagA-genotyped and used for further in vivo carcinogenic virulence assays by infecting Mongolian gerbils for 52 wk, respectively; a broth free of H. pylori was lavaged as control. Genomic profiles of GES-1 cells co-cultured with the most and least virulent strains were determined by microarray analysis. The most differentially expressed genes were further verified using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction in GES-1 cells infected with the most and least virulent strains, and by immunohistochemistry in H. pylori positive CG, precancerous diseases, and GC biopsy specimens in an independent experiment. RESULTS: GC-derived H. pylori strains induced a potent proliferative effect in GES-1 cells in co-culture, whereas CG-derived strains did not. The most (from a GC patient) and least (from a CG patient) virulent strains were cagA-positive and negative, respectively. At week 52, CG, atrophy, metaplasia, dysplasia, and GC were observed in 90.0%, 80.0%, 80.0%, 90%, and 60.0%, respectively, of the animals lavaged with the most virulent strain. However, only mild CG was observed in 90% of the animals lavaged with the least virulent strain. On microarray analysis, 800 differentially expressed genes (49 up- and 751 down-regulated), involving those associated with cell cycle regulation, cell apoptosis, cytoskeleton, immune response, and substance and energy metabolisms, were identified in cells co-cultured with the most virulent strain as compared with those co-cultured with the least virulent strain. The six most differentially expressed genes (with a betweenness centrality of 0.1-0.2) were identified among the significant differential gene profile network, including JUN, KRAS, BRCA1, SMAD2, TRAF1, and HDAC6. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analyses verified that HDAC6 and TRFA1 mRNA expressions were significantly more up-regulated in GES-1 cells co-cultured with the most virulent strain than in those co-cultured with the least virulent strain. Virtualization-based Recovery Approach for Intrusion Tolerance

Abstract: It is well known that increasing redundancy in a system generally improves the availability and dependability of the system. In this study, we present a Virtualization-based Recovery for Intrusion Tolerance (VRIT) architecture that strengthens cluster’s availability and dependability through periodic and event-driven recovery. By periodically reverting each virtual server to a pristine state, the VRIT cluster can limit the online exposure time of all servers, ensuring that even undetected attacks will be thwarted or at least be limited. Anomaly detection engines are installed in every virtual server to enable event-driven recovery within a fixed recovery cycle. Accumulated intrusion reports will prompt the compromised servers to be reverted earlier. A control algorithm is designed to manage both security and service availability. Experimental results demonstrate good performance of the algorithm.
