Research on Interest-driven Iceberg Cube Construction and Incremental Update Method

Abstract: This paper proposed a matrix-based iceberg construction method called MICC, in order to reduce the space Consumption during the full materialization for a data cube. Users' interests arc considered as the standard to construct an iceberg cube. On the basis of the result of MICC, the paper proposed an incremental update method to dynamically update the iceberg cube while the users' interests are changing. An experiment proves the efficiency and accuracy of these two methods MICC and ICIU.
Phase glass and zero-temperature phase transition in a randomly frustrated two-dimensional quantum rotor model

Abstract: The ground state of the quantum rotor model in two dimensions with random phase frustration is investigated. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations are performed on the corresponding (2+1)-dimensional classical model under the entropic sampling scheme. For weak quantum fluctuation, the system is found to be in a phase glass phase characterized by a finite compressibility and a finite value for the Edwards-Anderson order parameter, signifying long-ranged phase rigidity in both spatial and imaginary time directions. Scaling properties of the model near the transition to the gapped, Mott insulator state with vanishing compressibility are analyzed. At the quantum critical point, the dynamic exponent $z_{\rm dyn}\simeq 1.17$ is greater than one. Correlation length exponents in the spatial and imaginary time directions are given by $\nu\simeq 0.73$ and $\nu_z\simeq 0.85$, respectively, both assume values greater than 0.6723 of the pure case. We speculate that the phase glass phase is superconducting rather than metallic in the zero current limit.

Abstract: Recently, Newman and Swift[T. J. Newman and M. R. Swift, Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 79}, 2261 (1997)] made an interesting suggestion that the strong-coupling exponents of the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation may not be universal, but rather depend on the precise form of the noise distribution. We show here that the decrease of surface roughness exponents they observed can be attributed to a percolative effect.
Anomalous finite-size effect in superconducting Josephson junction arrays

Abstract: We report large-scale simulations of the resistively-shunted Josephson junction array in strip geometry. As the strip width increases, the voltage first decreases following the dynamic scaling ansatz proposed by Minnhagen {\it et al.} [Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 74}, 3672 (1995)], and then rises towards the asymptotic value predicted by Ambegaokar {\it et al.} [Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 40}, 783 (1978)]. The nonmonotonic size-dependence is attributed to shortened life time of free vortices in narrow strips, and points to the danger of single-scale analysis applied to a charge-neutral superfluid state.

Abstract: In 1975, Kramosil and Michalek [1] first introduced the concept of a fuzzy metric space. In 1994, George and Veeramani [2] slightly modified the concept of fuzzy metric space introduced by Kramosil and Michalek, defined a Hausdorff topology and proved some known results. In 1969, Rheinboldt [3] initiated the study of iterated contraction. The concept of iterated contraction proves to be very useful in the study of certain iterative process and has wide applicability in metric spaces. In this paper we introduce the notion of fuzzy iterated contraction maps in fuzzy metric spaces and establish some fixed point theorems for fuzzy iterated contraction maps in fuzzy metric spaces.

Abstract: a cdna encoding chalcone synthase (chs), the key enzyme in flavonoid biosynthesis, was isolated from hairy root cultures of scutellaria viscidula bunge by rapid amplification of cdna ends (race). the full-length cdna of s. viscidula chs, designated as svchs (genbank accession no. eu386767), was 1649 bp with a 1170 bp open reading frame (orf) that corresponded to a deduced protein of 390 amino acid residues, a calculated molecular mass of 42.56 kda and a theoretical isoelectric point (pi) of 5.79. multiple sequence alignments showed that svchs shared high homology with chs from other plants. functional analysis in silico indicated that svchs was a hydrophilic protein most likely associated with intermediate metabolism. the active sites of the malonyl-coa binding motif, coumaroyl pocket and cyclization pocket in chs of medicago sativa were also found in svchs. molecular modeling indicated that the secondary structure of svchs contained mainly α-helixes and random coils. phylogenetic analysis showed that svchs was most closely related to chs from scutellaria baicalensis. in agreement with its function as an elicitor-responsive gene, the expression of svchs was induced and coordinated by methyl jasmonate. to our knowledge, this is the first report to describe the isolation and expression of a gene from s. viscidula.

Abstract: Derf 2 gene for one of mite allergens inDermatophagoides farinae has been cloned and expressed under regulation of 35S promoter in transgenic tobacco. The transcriptional analysis showed that this mite complete gene structure in genomic sequence could be spliced at prediction site. Allergenicity assay with immunological sera indicated that the extracts from the transgenic tobacco gave obvious positive IgE binding reaction with specific serum pool. This work would be of potential use in allergenicity assessment of genetically modified food.
