Abstract: In order to ensure some quality consulting services within the activity “Providing consultancy services to develop applications for European funding with focus on the SOP HRD 2007-2013”, in order to identify the organisations’ consultancy needs, the problems they face in elaborating the financing applications and implementing projects, there has been elaborated, within the PTS, the document “Questionnaire on identifying the consultancy needs of the members of the Territorial Pact and the County Partnerships - Centre”. The questionnaire was sent via e-mail to the member organisations of the Pact and the County Partnerships and also, it has been posted on the web site www.stpcentru.ro, so that all members may have access to it. The questionnaires collected until May, 25th, 2010 from 27 organisations were centralised in an excel format Data base.

Annals of the University of Petrosani : Economics , 2011,
Abstract: The workforce competence is a core value for the development of a competitive, sustainable and innovative economy, in accordance with the objectives of Europe 2020. In times of budgetary constraints and unprecedented global competitive pressures, the European Union’s policies on employment and competencies that contribute to the shaping of the transition to a green, intelligent and innovative economy has to be a priority. Romania’s European Union accession is a major challenge for our country and implicitly for the Centre Region in terms of adapting the Romanian economic and social environment to the European one. Under this new context, the changes to ensure competitiveness will cause major changes in the field of employment and the workforce professional training. The development of the continuous vocational training system that would meet the requirements of the labour market and of a knowledge-based economy requires relevant information on the evolution of jobs and professions, the evolution tendencies of the labour market, the needs for competencies and qualifications of companies, the level of correlation between the demand and offer of workforce and the identification of gaps, the programmes’ offer of professional training suppliers and its suitability to the needs of applicants. These are some of the reasons that have contributed to the accomplishment of the study on the needs of competencies and abilities for the graduates’ adaptation to the requirements of the labour market in the context of Europe 2020 strategy.
STUDY REGARDING THE IMPLEMENTED PROJECTS BY THE MEMBERS OF THE TERRITORIAL PACT CENTRE AND THE IDENTIFICATION OF PROJECT IDEAS
ALINA-TEODORA CIUHUREANU,HORTENSIA GORSKI,NICOLAE BALTE?
Annals of the University of Petrosani : Economics , 2010,
Abstract: The study was conducted within the project The establishment of the Permanent Technical Secretariat of the Territorial Pact Centre for Employment and Social Inclusion in the Centre Region”, a project co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Sectoral Operational Programme for Human Resources Development 2007-2013. The general purpose of this research consists of identifying the implemented projects and the project ideas in order for the PTS to provide efficient consultancy in drawing up the financing application forms. Therefore, we have tried to determine the level in which organisations have implemented pre-adhesion financing projects; to determine the level in which the financing application forms were handed in within the structural programmes and the implemented/under implementation projects, to determine the organisations’ option regarding the elaboration of financing application forms from European funds; the handing-in period and the programmes, the reasons for their non-elaboration. The paper shows the results of this research based on processing the questionnaires collected until the 25th of May 2010, as well as a brief historical of how the Territorial Pact Centre was established and how the project was elaborated.

Selective Enrichment Media Bias the Types of Salmonella enterica Strains Isolated from Mixed Strain Cultures and Complex Enrichment Broths
Lisa Gorski
PLOS ONE , 2012, DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0034722
Abstract: For foodborne outbreak investigations it can be difficult to isolate the relevant strain from food and/or environmental sources. If the sample is contaminated by more than one strain of the pathogen the relevant strain might be missed. In this study mixed cultures of Salmonella enterica were grown in one set of standard enrichment media to see if culture bias patterns emerged. Nineteen strains representing four serogroups and ten serotypes were compared in four-strain mixtures in Salmonella-only and in cattle fecal culture enrichment backgrounds using Salmonella enrichment media. One or more strain(s) emerged as dominant in each mixture. No serotype was most fit, but strains of serogroups C2 and E were more likely to dominate enrichment culture mixtures than strains of serogroups B or C1. Different versions of Rappaport-Vassiliadis (RV) medium gave different patterns of strain dominance in both Salmonella-only and fecal enrichment culture backgrounds. The fittest strains belonged to serogroups C1, C2, and E, and included strains of S. Infantis, S. Thompson S. Newport, S. 6,8:d:-, and S. Give. Strains of serogroup B, which included serotypes often seen in outbreaks such as S. Typhimurium, S. Saintpaul, and S. Schwarzengrund were less likely to emerge as dominant strains in the mixtures when using standard RV as part of the enrichment. Using a more nutrient-rich version of RV as part of the protocol led to a different pattern of strains emerging, however some were still present in very low numbers in the resulting population. These results indicate that outbreak investigations of food and/or other environmental samples should include multiple enrichment protocols to ensure isolation of target strains of Salmonella.

Nabokov vs. Набоков: A Literary Investigation of Linguistic Relativity
Bradley Gorski
Vestnik : The Journal of Russian and Asian Studies , 2010,
Abstract: Nabokov's autobiographies in Russian and in English are indeed quite different. Based on the sentence from Speak, Memory's foreword quoted above, we can assume that some of those differences are based on the language of creation. Other factors, such as two very different readerships and a drastic change in Nabokov's reputation (Lolita appeared between Drugie berega and Speak, Memory), affect Nabokov's writing in each. The present study recognizes this, but offers a framework for identifying which differences are directly related to language.

Hacia un nuevo humanismo: filosofía de la vida cotidiana
Cuéllar, Hortensia;
En-claves del pensamiento , 2009,
Abstract: this is an original philosophical refection about the relevance of ordinary life as a legitimate frame of reference in the search for the meaning of life, a statement different from the ways of life that suggest that the reaching of a happy life -a fulfilled life- depends on other orders of human existence such as the acquisition of fame, wealth, power and pleasure. this thesis implies the return to simplicity, to the everyday common things, to primary realities in which our own lives passes -whether we accept it or not- are part of the constitutive identity of the human being and not only of the modern identity, as suggested by the infuential canadian philosopher charles taylor.
