Generalization of the Force Approach to Radiation Reaction  [PDF]

Abstract: A new approach to radiation reaction for the correction of the linear and circular motion of a charged particle takes into account the emission of electromagnetic radiation due to its acceleration. This new formulation was based on expressing the radiation reaction force in terms of the external force rather than the acceleration of the charge. In this paper, a generalization of the radiation reaction force in terms of the external force approach is formulated for any arbitrary motion of the charged particle. This generalization includes the linear and circular acceleration cases previously investigated.
On Maxwell Equations for Gravitational Field  [PDF]

Abstract: For explicitly time depending mass density which satisfies a continuity equation, it is shown that Maxwell-like equations for gravitational field follow naturally without any need of General Relativity Theory approximation or related assumptions. As a consequence, it is shown that several features already known in Electrodynamics (Poynting vector, density of energy, tensor stress, and radiation) are totally reproduced for gravitational field.
Analytical Approximation to the Dynamics of a Binary Stars System with Time Depending Mass Variation  [PDF]

Abstract: We study the classical dynamics of binary stars when there is an interchange of mass between them. Assuming that one of the stars is more massive than others, the dynamics of the lighter one is analyzed as a function of its time depending mass variation. Within our approximations and models for mass transference, we obtain a general result which establishes that if the lightest star looses mass, its period increases. If the lightest star wins mass, its period decreases.
Alpha Centauri System and Meteorites Origin  [PDF]

Abstract: We propose a mathematical model for determining the probability of meteorite origin, impacting the earth. Our method is based on axioms similar to both the complex networks and emergent gravity. As a consequence, we are able to derive a link between complex networks and Newton’s gravity law, and as a possible application of our model we discuss several aspects of the Bacubirito meteorite. In particular, we analyze the possibility that the origin of this meteorite may be alpha Centauri system. Moreover, we find that in order for the Bacubirito meteorite to come from alpha Cen and be injected into our Solar System, its velocity must be reduced one order of magnitude of its ejected scape velocity from alpha Cen. There are several ways how this could happened, for example through collision with the Oort cloud objects (located outside the boundary of our Solar System), and/or through collisions within the Solar meteorites belt (located between Mars and Jupiter). We also argue that it may be interesting to study the Bacubirito meteorite from the perspective of the recently discovered Oumuamua object.

Abstract: We develop in the weak coupling approximation a quasi-non-Markovian master equation and study the phenomenon of decoherence during the operation of a controlled-not (CNOT) quantum gate in a quantum computer model formed by a linear chain of three nuclear spins system with second neighbor Ising interaction between them. We compare with the behavior of the Markovian counterpart for temperature different from zero (thermalization) and at zero temperature for low and high dissipation rates. At low dissipation there is a very small difference between Markovian and quasi no-Markovian at any temperature which is unlikely to be measured, and at high dissipation there is a difference which is likely to be measured at any temperature.

Abstract: We study classical and quantum dynamics of the symmetric harmonic oscillator and the symmetric bouncer defined in 2-D. For these systems we get each of them for two different constants of motion, two Lagrangians and two Hamiltonians which describe the same classical dynamics. However, the quantization of these systems (using Schrödinger equation), using their two equivalents Hamiltonian, describes different quantum dynamics for each of them. This represents an ambiguity on the Hamiltonian formulation of the Quantum Mechanics.

Abstract: El propósito de este artículo es explicar la tendencia decreciente del consumo mensual de agua por usuario en la Ciudad de Medellín. Para ella se hizo necesario buscar en la teoría económica las herramientas metodológicas que permitieran un análisis adecuado del problema en cuestión. Se parte entonces de referencias como el equilibrio parcial del mercado y la teoría de la demanda. Con ello se pudo establecer que la disminución en la demanda residencial de agua obedece, por un lado, a la campa a de ahorro adelantada por Empresas Públicas de Medellín, y por otro lado, al efecto de la estructura de tarifas sobre el precio marginal, el cargo fijo y la transferencia implícita, mientras el ingreso de los usuarios se mantenía relativamente estable.

Abstract: En este artículo se presenta una visión general de la estructura tecnológica de la industria antioque a en su conjunto para el periodo 1975-1987. Para el análisis se supone una función de producción en dos niveles: en el primero se emplean como insumos el capital, el trabajo, los energéticos y otras materias primas; en el segundo, los energéticos son desagregados en electricidad y otros. Usando una función translogarítmica de costos para cada uno de los niveles, se llega, finalmente, a presentar estimaciones de las elasticidades precio directas y cruzadas que darían cuenta de las relaciones económicas entre los insumos. Examinando los resultados de las estimaciones se observa que las elasticidades directas son todas negativas, el capital y los insumos energéticos son sustitutivos, mientras que la única complementariedad se presenta entre el trabajo y los insumos energéticos.

Abstract: The physical implementation of the quantum Control-Not gate for a two-spin system is investigated numerically. The concept of a generalized quantum Control-Not gate, with arbitrary phase shift, is introduced. It is shown that a resonant $\pi$-pulse provides a simple example of a generalized quantum Control-Not gate.

Abstract: objective. to determine the effect of a mixture of cypermethrin and chlorpiriphos on the control of the haematobia irritans fly (horn fly). materials and methods. a total of 24 holstein heifers, naturally infested with haematobia irritans flies, were randomly allocated into two groups (n=12): 1) group control and 2) group treated. the control group was not sprayed with any product and the treated group was sprayed with the product diluted (1:800), using 1 liter per 100 kilos of body weight. to evaluate the effect of the product. flies were counts in each animal before treatment (day 0) and on days 7, 14 and 21 post application of the product. total number of flies (%) were compared between groups and between days. results. efficacy of the product were 89.9, 97.4 and 99.5%, for days 7, 14 and 21 post-treatment, respectively. conclusions. the mixture of cypermethrin and chlorpiriphos was highly effective against the horn fly and stands up as a new alternative for the control of the parasite, especially where resistance to different molecules of commercial products have occurred.
