PASOS : Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural , 2009,
Abstract: This work to leave of secondary data and participant comments describes and analyzes the social and economic development of the creative industry artisan of a city of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The historical formation of its chain of production is marked by organizations that production half-autonomous worker deal with relations of enslaved work until units. The organization of this creative industry processes a productive structure that is divided and specialized. The trader co-ordinates and innovates the businesses integrated in a net of relationship of commercial and productive units. The process of organizational development, from the division of the work, and the commercial expansion has generated as not intentional consequence the loss of local knowledge on the bicentennial artisan tech-niques.

Brazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-86702004000100009
Abstract: tuberculosis of the cystic duct lymph node associated with cholelithiasis is rare. we report a case of a 40 year-old woman with this pathology. she presented with anorexia, biliary colic, postprandial fullness and fever. imaging studies revealed cholelithiasis and several visible portal lymph nodes. cholecystectomy was performed and histopathological examination showed tuberculosis of the cystic duct lymph node without affecting the gallbladder. the presence of gallstones and lymphadenopathy in computed tomography, associated with persistent fever and symptoms that resemble cholecystitis, should cause suspicion of tuberculosis. however, diagnosis is usually achieved by microscopic appearance of caseating granulomas and isolation of mycobacterium tuberculosis. the treatment in this case consisted of cholecystectomy and antitubercular chemotherapy.

Revista do Hospital das Clínicas , 2003,
Abstract: Falciform ligament abscess is rare. We report a case of a 65-year-old man who presented with right upper quadrant abdominal pain, postprandial fullness, and fever. Computed tomography disclosed a cylindrical mass in the anterior abdomen that aroused suspicion of a hepatic abscess. At laparoscopic surgery, an abscess of the falciform ligament was found and drained. Two months later, the patient developed recurrence of the abscess secondary to acute calculous cholecystitis. Abscess drainage and cholecystectomy were performed. The presence of right uppper quadrant abdominal pain, epigastric tenderness, fever, leukocytosis, and a mass in the anterior abdomen should arouse suspicion of falciform ligament abscess. Its treatment consists of abscess drainage.
Panels Manufactured from Vegetable Fibers: An Alternative Approach for Controlling Noises in Indoor Environments

Advances in Acoustics and Vibration , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/698737
Abstract: Noise control devices such as panels and barriers, when of high efficiency, generally are of difficult acquisition due to high costs turning in many cases their use impracticable, mainly for limited budget small-sized companies. There is a huge requirement for new acoustic materials that have satisfactory performance, not only under acoustic aspect but also other relevant ones and are of low cost. Vegetable fibers are an alternative solution when used as panels since they promise satisfactory acoustic absorption, according to previous researches, exist in abundance, and derive from renewable sources. This paper, therefore, reports on the development of panels made from vegetable fibers (coconut, palm, sisal, and a?aí), assesses their applicability by various experimental (flammability, odor, fungal growth, and ageing) tests, and characterize them acoustically in terms of their sound absorption coefficients on a scale model reverberant chamber. Acoustic results point out that the aforementioned fiber panels play pretty well the role of a noise control device since they have compatible, and in some cases, higher performance when compared to commercially available conventional materials. 1. Introduction Most of the products used in acoustical devices and treatments use nonrenewable source materials. Majority is made of synthetic components and involves high-production costs reflected in energy consumption and sometimes are toxic materials as, for example, fiberglass. These products are not easily available or affordable by small-sized companies. Additionally, due to the little importance given by companies and/or employers to the acoustical quality of certain environments complicates the acquisition and consequently the use of these materials. Recently, panels made from vegetable fibers have been studied [1–7], regarding their acoustic properties. It is already known that some of them have satisfactory characteristics when used as sound absorbing elements [2–8]. However, other aspects should be considered. For example, vegetable fibers are intrinsically flammable, so it is important that they can resist to the fire spreading or fungus proliferation when used as panels for the noise control purpose in environment indoors. Regarding those panels, the requested procedures and infrastructure to determine important properties (such as flow resistivity and tortuosity) to their acoustic characterization have been developed [5], and further have been applied in other similar researches [2, 6, 7]. In one of them [2], industrial panels of various thicknesses and

Abstract: this paper aims to analyze the relevance of business games as a subject on the curriculum of under-graduate business schools in brazil. the literature review demonstrates that the application of business games has potential to train managers, however, this research identifies some misunderstandings in the application of such games on courses. the teaching plans of business games courses (with some name variations) from 25 brazilian higher education institutions were analyzed by documentary research. the concep of business games subjects uses two approaches: the first deals with games as a teach-learning tool; the second deals with the integration of the diverse content of the specific subject of management. the analysis shows a distortion in the institutional interpretation of games as a tool for management training. there is a mistake in the concept of a subject that has no identity, and about the absence of game application in the development of the subject. this article demonstrates the need for greater institutional support in the acquisition/development of didactic resources and the preparedness of teachers to apply business games.
