Synthesis and characterization of amphiphilc block copolymer poly(methyl acrylic acid)-block-polytetrahydrofuran

Abstract: Under the specially designated condition the polymerization of both tetrahydrofuran (THF) andtert-butyl methacrylate (tBMA) is a living one. The diblock copolymer, poly(tert-butyl methacrylate)-block-polytetrahydrofuran (PtBMA-b-PTHF), was successfully synthesized by means of the coupling reaction of living cationic PTHF+, SbF6 with living anionic PtBMA-, Li+. LiCI, which has a beneficial effect on the molecular weight distribution (MWD) in the anionic polymerization of (meth)acrylates, hinders the coupling reaction of living chains and cannot be used in the preparation of tBMA precursor. The hydrolysis of the aforementioned diblock copolymer under acid condition results in the amphiphilic diblock copolymer, i.e. poly(methy1 acrylic acid)-block-polytetrahydrofuran (PMAA-b-PTHF). The diblock copolymers were characterized with GPC and IR.
Influences of different degassing processes on refining effect and properties of 4004 Al alloy

Abstract: In order to improve the plasticity of 4004 Al alloy and subsequently the productivity of 4004 Al foil, the research studied in detail the influence of the rotary impeller degassing process on the refining effect of 4004 Al alloy, in which the impacts of four major parameters: gas flow, rotational speed, refining time, and stewing time, on degassing rate of 4004 Al alloy was systematically studied by using an orthogonal experiment methodology. Results show that the rotational speed has the greatest impact on the degassing of 4004 Al alloy, followed by gas flow and refining time; stewing time has the least impact. The optimum purification parameters obtained by current orthogonal analysis were: rotor speed of 500 r·min-1, inert gas flow of 0.4 mL·h-1, refining time of 15 min, and stewing time of 6 min. Degassing rate using the optimum parameters reaches 68%. In addition, the comparison experiments among C2Cl6 refining, rotary impeller degassing, and combined treatment of C2Cl6 refining and rotary impeller degassing for 4004 Al alloy were performed. The experimental data indicated that the combined treatment of C2Cl6 refining and rotary impeller degassing has the best degassing effect. Degassing rate of C2Cl6 refining, rotary impeller degassing and combined refining treatment is 39%, 69.1% and 76.9%, respectively. The mechanical properties of the specimen refined by rotary impeller degassing were higher than those by C2Cl6 refining, but lower than those by combined refining treatment.

Abstract:

Two optical methods, namely crystal facet reflection and etching pits reflection, were used to orient <100> and <111> high-purity germanium crystals. The X-ray diffraction patterns of three slices that were cut from the oriented <100> and <111> crystals were measured by X-ray diffraction. The experimental errors of crystal facet reflection method and etching pits reflection method are in the range of 0.05° - 0.12°. The crystal facet reflection method and etching pits reflection method are extremely simple and cheap and their accuracies are acceptable for characterizing high purity detector-grade germanium crystals.

The Image of Talented Scholar, Beauty and Love in Vietnamese Nom Narrative Poetry  [PDF]

Abstract: The emergence and prevalence of Nom narrative poetry associated with the decline of feudalism in Vietnam. The feudal system began to weaken since the 16th century and the 18th century became severe, and mid-19th century entered the crisis period. Social contradictions, class contradictions brought huge differentiation inside the ruling class which had brought a large part of writers, poets closer to people. Overcoming class ideology, those intellectuals had represented the aspirations of the times, the voice of the people with all their hearts. Humanism literature is the result of that social struggle and ideological struggle process. Along with the development of Nom letter and the sin-eight-word, the Nom first poems were formed and developed that way. Nom narrative poetry about “talented scholar and beauty” told the story of love between a man and a woman. They were not only outstanding in their appearance but also faithful in love. To protect their love, they had to overcome the resistance of feudal rites, the harm of those mean people, and they even had to look for the death to keep a vow with their lovers. All those things had made up the beauty of Nom narrative poetry. That also explains why Nom narrative poetry was soon welcomed socially and had such huge influence on Vietnamese’s life. However, in field of literature research, there has not been a unified notion of Nom narrative poetry about talented scholar and beauty. Therefore a viewpoint about the notion of Nom narrative poetry will be discussed. Moreover the writer also analyzes the talented scholars, the beauties and their love. As a result, the value of this type of poetry in Vietnam national literature will be affirmed.
Application and Research Software Design on Rescue Communication System of Embedded Mine-Underground

Abstract: This design has been made the module division according to its function. It including video display, three party service (volume control) and environment parameters display warning information as well as data storage module. Furthermore, this application software uses the multithreading to realize the modulation, which including the receive thread (It receives the video and audio data as well as environment parameters data), the display thread and the warning judgment thread. This application software construction is based on the S3C6410 platform with embedded WinCE 6.0 operating systems in the VS2005 development environment to realize the system function. From the above, it can transfer the environment, the video and audio information to the rescuer and the underground base and the rescue command center instantaneously and accurately. In a word, it’s helpful for command center to know underground rescue situations instantaneously and can implement command well.
A Contour-integral Based Method for Counting the Eigenvalues Inside a Region in the Complex Plane

Abstract: In many applications, the information about the number of eigenvalues inside a given region is required. In this paper, we propose a contour-integral based method for this purpose. The new method is motivated by two findings. There exist methods for estimating the number of eigenvalues inside a region in the complex plane. But our method is able to compute the number of eigenvalues inside the given region exactly. An appealing feature of our method is that it can integrate with the recently developed contour-integral based eigensolvers to help them detect whether all desired eigenvalues are found. Numerical experiments are reported to show the viability of our new method.
A Contour-integral Based QZ Algorithm for Generalized Eigenvalue Problems

Abstract: Recently, a kind of eigensolvers based on contour integral were developed for computing the eigenvalues inside a given region in the complex plane. The CIRR method is a classic example among this kind of methods. In this paper, we propose a contour-integral based QZ method which is also devoted to computing partial spectrum of generalized eigenvalue problems. Our new method takes advantage of the technique in the CIRR method of constructing a particular subspace containing the eigenspace of interest via contour integrals. The main difference between our method and CIRR is the mechanism of extracting the desired eigenpairs. We establish the related framework and address some implementation issues so as to make the resulting method applicable in practical implementations. Numerical experiments are reported to illustrate the numerical performance of our new method.
SLC26A4 gene copy number variations in Chinese patients with non-syndromic enlarged vestibular aqueduct

Abstract: Between January 2003 and March 2010, 923 Chinese patients (481 males, 442 females) with NSEVA were recruited. Among these, 68 patients (7.4%) were found to carry only one mutant allele of SLC26A4 and 39 patients (4.2%) lacked any detectable mutation in SLC26A4; these 107 patients without double mutant alleles were assigned to the patient group. Possible copy number variations in SLC26A4 were detected by SALSA MLPA.Using GeneMapper, no significant difference was observed between the groups, as compared with the standard probe provided in the assay. The results of the capillary electrophoresis showed no significant difference between the patients and controls.Our results suggest that CNVs and the exon deletion in SLC26A4 are not important factors in NSEVA. However, it would be premature to conclude that CNVs have no role in EVA. Genome-wide studies to explore CNVs within non-coding regions of the SLC26A4 gene and neighboring regions are warranted, to elucidate their roles in NSEVA etiology.
Responses of antioxidation system of Cynodon dactylon to recirculated landfill leachate irrigation

Abstract: With pot experiment,this paper studied the membrane lipid peroxidation and the variations of antioxidation system in Cynodon dactylon under recirculated landfill leachate irrigation.The results showed that when irrigated with low dilution ratio (<25%) leachate,the chlorophyll a/b ratio increased with increasing dilution ratio,cell membrane permeability and MDA and H 2O 2 contents were in adverse,and membrane lipid peroxidation was relatively weak.However,with the increasing leachate dilution ratio (>25%),there existed an obvious negative effect on Cynodon dactylon,i.e.,the chlorophyll a/b ratio decreased,while cell membrane permeability and MDA and H 2O 2 contents increased,which meant that the membrane lipid peroxidation was accelerated.The contents of antioxidants AsA,GSH and Car also showed the similar trend,i.e.,they increased with increasing leachate dilution ratio when irrigated with low dilution ratio leachate,but decreased under medium or high dilution ratio leachate irrigation.Among three test anti-oxidative enzymes,SOD and POD activities showed a similar change to test antioxidants,and POD activity was more sensitive,while CAT activity was on the contrary.The contents of test antioxidants and the activities of SOD and POD were negatively and significantly correlated to MDA content,indicating that they might play an important role in preventing Cynodon dactylon from cell membrane lipid peroxdation.

Abstract: Based on the conventional finite element,Lagrange type interpolation space of displacements on each node is extended to an arbitrary function expansion with any variable number of generalized displacements. The accuracy of the numerical computations is improved only through increasing the order of interpolation functions without increasing the number of nodes. Three-dimensional generalized isoparameteric element of eight nodes and one-dimensional generalized bar element are established. The formulae of generalized shape function and the element displacement formulation are given. The strain matrix,stiffness matrix and load vector of element are formulated. In response to the excavation problem of underground engineering,the combined usage of conventional finite element with generalized finite element is suggested. The generalized finite element is applied to the surrounding rock mass of excavation boundary and the anchored rock mass. The conventional finite element is applied to the rock mass far from excavation boundary. Not only the computation precision,but also the computation efficiency is improved. The numerical implement programs of generalized finite element are discussed. From the computational examination questions as well as the engineering example,the numerical results indicate the advantage of generalized finite element. The proposed method is rational for analysis and computations of underground engineering.
