The effect of co-catalysts on the morphology of isotactic polypropene prepared using metallocene catalyst

Abstract: SiO2/rac-Me2Si[2-Me-4-Naph-Ind]2ZrCl2 was prepared and different co-catalysts were used in bulk polymerization of propene. The morphology of polypropene could be controlled by altering the co-catalysts. The isotactic polypropene with good morphology and high bulk density were prepared. The formation mechanism of active centers was proposed, by which the effect of co-catalysts on the morphology of polypeopene was analyzed.

Abstract: Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) was prepared byin situ polymerization using a dual-functional catalytic system containing Et(Ind)2ZrCl2/MAO and Ti(OnBu)4/AlEt3 used as co-polymerization catalyst and dimerization catalyst, respectively. The catalytic system showed high activity and the polymer with low melting point, narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD) and low crystallinity was produced.

Abstract: The catalyst [(2-ArN=C(Me))2C5H3N]FeCl2 (Ar = 2-C6H4(i-Pr)) with methylaluminoxane (MAO) as cocatalyst was intercalated between layers of montmorillonite (MMT) for ethylene oligomerization. Metallocene catalyst Me2Si(Ind)2ZrCl2 and MAO was then added to form a dual functional catalytic system. A PE/MMT nanocomposite was prepared by copolymerization of ethylene with α-olefins produced in situ from ethylene over the dual functional catalytic system. The catalytic system was of high polymeric activity. The resultant PE/MMT nanocomposites were stable and got increases in tensile strength and temperature of maximum weight loss (Tonset).

Abstract: Anin situ polymerization method was investigated to prepare long-branched polyethylene (LBPE) with ethylene alone and a single cocatalyst, methylalumoxane (MAO), by using a dual functional catalytic system containing late transition metal oligomerization catalyst and metallocene copolymerization catalyst. The obtained longbranched polyethylene has the characteristics of low melting point, high activity and well-dispersed sequence distribution.

Abstract: This article reports a screw-driven polyhedron linear ultrasonic motor (USM) of nut-type. It is comprised of a stator, which is a threaded metal nut bonded with piezoelectric plates on its external surface, and a rotor with external threads, which engage with the internal threads of the stator. A traveling wave in the plane is stimulated on the stator when harmonic electric signals are applied to the piezoelectric plates. The traveling wave drives the rotor to rotate, and the threads transform the rotation into a linear motion. The lens can be fixed in the rotor and realize the integrated design of the auto focus system. This structure can omit retarder and directly drive to obtain a high accuracy of positioning, and it is shockproof. A mini AF cellular phone module (8.5 mm×8.5 mm×5.9 mm) driven by this motor was made and an image resolution of 3–5 MP was obtained in the module prototypes of the cellular phone.

Abstract: The equilibrium equations of anisotropic media, coupled to the heat conduction equations, are studied here based on the standard spaces of the physical presentation, in which an new thermo-elastic model based on the second law of thermodynamics is induced. The uncoupled heat wave equation for anisotropic media is deduced. The results show that the equation of heat wave is of the properties of dissipative waves. In final part of this paper, we discuss the propagation behaviour of heat waves for transversely isotropic media.

Abstract: The static electromagnetic fields are studied here based on the standard spaces of the physical presentation, and the modal equations of static electromagnetic fields for anisotropic media are deduced. By introducing a set of new potential functions of order 2, several novel theoretical results were obtained: The classical potential functions of order 1 can be expressed by the new potential functions of order 2, the electric or magnetic potentials are scalar for isotropic media, and vector for anisotropic media. The amplitude and direction of the vector potentials are related to the anisotropic subspaces. Based on these results, we discuss the laws of static electromagnetic fields for anisotropic media.

Abstract: The number of electronic commerce (e-commerce) transactions has grown extraordinarily with widespread Internet usage. The right to privacy is particularly important in e-commerce. Recently, the privacy protection for consumer transactions has become more and more important in e-commerce. This paper aims to develop the study on the legislation of e-commerce consumer rights protection. It is a comparative study on relevant regulations of the right to privacy in European Union, the United States, and Japan. The most representative policy might be the Data Protection Directive in the EU, which not only regulates the principle for e-commerce consumer right to privacy protection, but also lays out specific criteria to be abided. The current status and existing problems in China are also analyzed and some suggestions are made to improve the legal system of right to privacy. The paper identifies directions for the future development of the privacy protection from a legal perspective.

Abstract: In this paper, I systematically analyze the new Japanese Patent Law and make a comparative study on Chinese and Japanese Patent Law to shed a new light on the improvement of the legal system of intellectual property in China. To begin with, I review the historical development of Japanese Patent Law and the modern patent legal system in Japan. Next, the aim and contents of the latest revision of Japanese Patent Law are described. I also pay close attention to the issues remaining unresolved. Regarding the problems faced by Chinese Patent Law, I identify the lessons that China could learn from Japanese New Patent Law. Finally, I suggest that there are still some unresolved issues in Chinese Patent Law even after learning from the new Japanese Patent Law.
