Abstract: In recent years, with the increase of natural disasters, wars, and terrorist incidents, etc., there are more and more researches on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This paper bases on the definition, pathogenic mechanism and related gene research of post-traumatic stress disorder. Mechanism, reviews the research status of post-traumatic stress disorder to improve people’s understanding of post-traumatic stress disorder, and prospect for future research.
Investigation on the Association of Soil Microbial Populations with Ecological and Environmental Factors in the Pearl River Estuary  [PDF]

Abstract:
An investigation on the soil microbe populations from an agricultural inning area at the Pearl River estuary in Guangdong province, China was conducted via high through-put sequencing. The results revealed abundant diversity in the soil bacterial and fungal populations. In total, 197103 sequence tags were obtained from soil samples, most of which represented bacterial genera Actinomycetes, Bacillus and Marinobacter, while a majority of 118378 tags obtained were derived from fungal genera Clostridium, Devosia, Bradyrhizobium, Bdellovibrio, Phenylobacterium, Penicillium, and Emericella. Furthermore, nine physiological indexes (pH, available phosphorous, basic-group nitrogen, available potassium, catalase, sucrose, urease, phosphatase, and organic matters) were measured in three soil samples, and the association between these physiological indexes and microbe population composition was examined. The results revealed obvious inter-sample differences associated with ten dominating microbial groups: genera Clostridium, Devosia, Bradyrhizobium, Bdellovibrio, Phenylobacterium, and Penicillium were mainly impacted by pH (with a positive correlation), genera Sphingomonas and Acinetobacter mainly by available phosphorous (positive correlation), and genera Gemmatimonas and Pseudomonas by both pH and available phosphorous (negative correlation). Our study suggested that regulation of microbial species/populations might help improve soil environment to facilitate the growth of crops’ above-ground parts, and this provides practical information for inning agriculture.
Chinese herbal medicine for treatment of dislipidemia

Abstract: Prevalence of dislipidemia is increasing rapidly in China and there has been a growing interest in Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of hyperlipidemia both inside and outside China. In this article, lipids regulating effects of 9 herbs or their extracts and 5 herbal formulae which have been published in English-language literature are reviewed. Although evidence from animals and humans consistently supports the therapeutic activities of these Chinese herbal medicines, few multi-center large-scale clinical trials have been conducted to confirm the efficacy and evaluate their safety.
Quantum States and Complex Projective Space

Abstract: In this paper we propose the idea that there is a corresponding relation between quantum states and points of the complex projective space, given that the number of dimensions of the Hilbert space is finite. We check this idea through analyzing some of the basic principles and concepts of quantum mechanics, including the principle of superposition, representations and inner product of quantum states, and give some interesting examples. Based on our point of views we are able to generate the evolution equation of quantum states -- the Heisenberg equation. We also discuss the act of dynamical operators on quantum states.

Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ho(NO3)3(C15H15NO2)2]·H2O, contains two Schiff base 6-methoxy-2-[(4-methylphenyl)iminiomethyl]phenolate (L) ligands, three independent nitrate ions that chelate to the HoIII ion with O atoms and a hydrate water molecule. The coordination environment of the HoIII ion is ten-coordinate. The L ligands chelate with a strong Ho—O(phenolate) bond and weaker Ho—O(methoxy) contacts. The latter can be interpreted as the apices of the bicapped square–antiprismatic [HoO10] polyhedron. Intermolecular N—H...O hydrogen bonds occur. Intramolecular O—H...O interactions link the complex molecules and uncoordinated water molecules.

Abstract: In the mononuclear title complex, [Co(C11H17N4O2)2(CH3OH)2](ClO4)2, the cobalt(II) atom lies on a symmetry centre and is coordinated by two O,N-bidentate ligands and two trans-arranged O atoms of the methanol molecules in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. In the crystal structure, cations and anions are linked by N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to the bc plane.
The Modification of the Valves of a Refrigeration Piston Compressor due to the Refrigerant Change

Abstract: Compressor and refrigerant play key roles in a refrigeration system. Owing to the de-mands of environment protection, the CFCs and HCFCs refrigerants will be phased out in a short time, and new refrigerants such as R600, R134a and R407C will be used. As the new refrigerant is selected, the motion regularity of the valves will be changed. The motion regularity of the ring valves of a 2-stage refrigerating piston compressor is simulated, and the calculations are done respectively with refrigerants R717 (ammonia), R22 and R134a. The results show that refrigerants and working conditions of a compressor have a direct effect on the motion of the ring valves. Comparing the original design parameters of the ring valves with the modified ones, the former are effective for the HCFC refrigerants, the latter have perfect motion of the valves for the new refrigerants, and the refrigeration system performance parameters, such as input power, the refrigerating quantity and the COP value, are also better. Service life test of the compressor system using the ring valves has been done for R717. The compressor using the modified ring valves has a life exceeding 8000 hours. Hence, the valve design should consider the influences of the refrigerant.
Energy-momentum of a Cosmological Brane Model and the Gauge Hierarchy

Abstract: We analyze the general covariant energy-momentum tensor of the gravitational system in genreal five-dimensional cosmological brane-world models. Then through calculating this energy-momentum for the cosmological generalization of the Randall-Sundrum model, which includes the original RS model as the static limit, we are able to show that the weakness of the gravitation on the "visible" brane is a general feature of this model. This is the origin of the gauge hierarchy from a gravitational point of view. Our results are also consistent with the fact that a gravitational system has vanishing total energy.
Angular Momentum of a Brane-world Model

Abstract: In this paper we discuss the properties of the general covariant angular momentum of a five-dimensional brane-world model. Through calculating the total angular momentum of this model, we are able to analyze the properties of the total angular momentum in the inflationary RS model. We show that the space-like components of the total angular momentum of are all zero while the others are non-zero, which agrees with the results from ordinary RS model.

Abstract: An algorithm was proposed to track moving objects based on centroid and vector in this paper. After segmenting video objects, video objects were divided into several regions by region-growing method. Then with the help of centroid and direction of vector of each region in two successive frames of a video sequence, it is able to track multi-nonrigid moving objects fast, effectively and automatically. The experimental results show that the presented method is robust to deal with the problems in multi-targets tracking such as new target entering, target leaving, scaling and deforming of nonrigid objects.
