Texto & Contexto - Enfermagem , 2013,
Valor-trabalho e trabalho imaterial nas ciências sociais contemporaneas

Abstract: the theory of value was read until presently based on three broad analytical approaches. an approach before marx, another approach by marx and the marxists and the neoclassicist approach. the one before marx has as its central element the idea that value is a central category to societies with market or barter economy, that in capitalist societies would gain its most advanced expression in the process of wealth creation. in marx, value is considered as the fundamental market economic category. however, this type of economy is assessed as transient, ie, there is a historical determination of the market economy that is directly linked to the existence of value. as for the neoclassicists, value is a category of economic activity in general, therefore, capitalist economic activity being a particular form of economic activity in general. its main concern is, in these terms, directed to a general equilibrium supported by the marginalist analysis of value. however, the debate over value today seems to go beyond these classifications. its recovery is summarized in the following question: do theses on new information technologies and immaterial labor converge to a new form of labor theory of value or to overcome this theory? the main purpose of this paper is to introductorily characterize the main theses of debate in social theory, which incorporate, update or deny the labor theory of value in the process of analysis of immaterial labor.
Prática política, qualifica??es profissionais e trabalho imaterial hoje

Abstract: the development of productive forces is an important object of study for contemporary social theory. nonetheless, this relationship has been hitherto limited to consideration of technical elements of labor processes. technology, new knowledge, and administrative and production techniques have been indicated as central elements in the constitution of the "revolutionary consciousness" of the working class. today, in debates on non-material labor, the direct relationship between the cognitive content of labor and the development of a politically revolutionary "consciousness" as a causal nexus between the political unity of the working class emerges as a fundamental explanatory axis. in this article, i attempt to discuss the role of professional qualification in the composition of theses on non-material labor as a central productive force in capitalist societies. i will go on to critique these theses insofar as they argue that technical qualification informs the possibilities for revolutionary working class practice and political consciousness. i understand quite the opposite, that is, that capital today has reorganized the exploitation of labor according to its own interests. new forms of persuasion have been added on to the taylorist and fordist production techniques that disseminate ideas such as the one which poses the worker is a "partner" who should incorporate the "spirit" of the capitalist firm. workers' subjectivity, thus reconstructed, is in this way reconfigured and reclaimed by capital.
Centralidade e imaterialidade do trabalho: classes sociais e luta política
Amorim, Henrique;
Trabalho, Educa??o e Saúde , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1981-77462010000300002
Abstract: the sociological debates that arose in the 1970s and in the following decades, structured in response to the perceived crisis of marxism, are based on a common assumption, namely, the ineffectiveness of marxist theory and of its fundamental analytical categories to understand the heterogeneous reality of the contemporary societies. the diagnosis is simple: the social class, labor, and class struggle concepts could no longer stand up to the social dynamics of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. the main objective of this perspective, however, focuses not on finding the problem, rather on generalizing it to the entire marxist literature. if, on one hand, the criticism of the notions of social class, labor, and political struggle limited to the factory is fundamental, on the other, it cannot be regarded as a moment of overcoming the marxist theoretical problem. in this essay, i intend to clarify the starting point and the boundaries of the theories about the non-centrality of labor and about immaterial labor as a central productive force in which i will make a reading of social classes, labor, and of the political struggle unlike that which is criticized by the theses that make up these debates.
Abstract Both in scientific discourse and in common sense, the conviction that the impasses emerged from the contemporary problems, in all its various fields, should find solution through the cooperative work among different knowledges is increasingly enhanced. This way, it is discussed a lot about the interdisciplinarity and, recently, with some emphasis in its more sublime form: the transdisciplinarity. This article will try to problematize some dispositions which are presented as conceptual possibilities for cooperative acts among subject of different theoretical formation. Therefore, as an essay, it will start from the conceptual articulation among the crucial elements to the problem in focus. Then, it will enrich the argumentation through the proposal of what will be called procedure of collector – inspired in the work of Walter Benjamin – and a practical example, in order to the assessment of the interested reader can fructify new debates on the central issue, whatever it is, to give visibility to the difficulties of the practice of cooperative acts among the knowledges in the solution of complex problems and find ways to overcome them.

During the history of psychoanalytic thought, repetition was approached through several points of view. The concept has appeared in Freud’s theory in a trembling and constraining way making repetition one most intriguing among the psychoanalytic concepts. In the clinic practice, when one perceives that a patient is repeating, the first impression one has it is that repetition is being harmful to the treatment. Frequently this situation is regretted. The present paper tries to redeem the ambiguous character of the concept of repetition. It also emphasizes a possible productive aspect in the way of cure, which was named concerning. It also proposes that listening to repetition, focusing the possibility of this productive character, is what can let the patient being able to create something new to him/herself, interrupting the undesirable repetitive processes to his/her treatment, although the patient has to resign pleasure temporarily.

Science journalism in Latin America: how the scientific information from a scientific source is accommodated when it is transformed into a journalistic story
Fernanda Veneu,Luis Henrique Amorim,Luisa Massarani
JCOM : Journal of Science Communication , 2008,
Abstract: Scientific information - from the moment it is produced by the scientific community until it reaches the non- expert audience through the newspapers - is submitted to a complex process of adaptation. In this paper, we investigate the process of accommodating the scientific information provided by a primary scientific source (a peer-review journal) into journalistic discourse (a newspaper). As case studies we analyzed four scientific papers published by the peer-reviewed scientific journals Nature and Science, which were simultaneously used as primary scientific sources by Latin American newspapers. We observed that the process of accommodation into a new space, journalistic space, represents a significant shift in the content of the texts, including information that appears, disappears and is transformed in the process; transformations in the lexica, the style and the argumentation; a change in the hierarchy of the information; a shift in the information emphasized and in the social impact it might have.

Abstract:

The cultivation of the castor bean plant is prominent and important because of its potential for producing vegetable oils with special properties. However, research on cultivating castor bean plants is scarce, especially in areas with altitudes of 300 m or below. Moreover, the currently available cultivars have not been widely tested in Brazil. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the response of the castor bean cultivar BRS Nordestina to different spacings at low altitudes during two cropping seasons. The study was conducted in the municipality of Itaocara, in the northwest Fluminense region, Brazil, which has an altitude of 60 m. The treatments consisted of five row spacings (1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 m) with 1 m between plants. The plants were cultivated in the 2007/2008 spring/summer season or in the 2008 autumn/winter season. A randomised block design with four replicates was used. The following parameters were assessed: plant height, height of insertion of primary raceme, number of racemes per plant, raceme length, number of fruits per raceme and grain yield. The spacing of 2.5 m between rows had the highest yield of castor beans during the two cropping seasons. The average yield of the cultivar BRS Nordestina indicates its potential for cultivation in northern Rio de Janeiro, below an altitude of 300 m. The yield was higher during the summer cropping season. The less-dense arrangement of the plant population contributed to the cultivation of plants with more racemes in both growing seasons.
