Nonspectrality of Certain Self-Affine Measures on

Abstract: We will determine the nonspectrality of self-affine measure corresponding to , , and in the space is supported on , where , and are the standard basis of unit column vectors in , and there exist at most mutually orthogonal exponential functions in , where the number is the best. This generalizes the known results on the spectrality of self-affine measures. 1. Introduction Let be an expanding integer matrix; that is, all the eigenvalues of the integer matrix have modulus greater than 1. Associated with a finite subset , there exists a unique nonempty compact set such that . More precisely, is an attractor (or invariant set) of the affine iterated function system (IFS) . Denote by the cardinality of . Relating to the IFS , there also exists a unique probability measure satisfying For a given pair , the spectrality or nonspectrality of is directly connected with the Fourier transform . From (1), we get where The self-affine measure has received much attention in recent years. The previous research on such measure and its Fourier transform revealed some surprising connections with a number of areas in mathematics, such as harmonic analysis, number theory, dynamical systems, and others; see [1, 2] and references cited therein. The and are all determined by the pair . So, for , in the way of examples, there are Cantor set and Cantor measure on the line. And for there is a rich variety of geometries, see Li [3–6], of which the best known example is the Sierpinski gasket. But for , it is more complex. The problem considered below started with a discovery in an earlier paper of Jorgensen and Pedersen [7] where it was proved that certain IFS fractals have Fourier bases, and furthermore that the question of counting orthogonal Fourier frequencies (or orthogonal exponentials in ) for a fixed fractal involves an intrinsic arithmetic of the finite set of functions making up the IFS under consideration. For example, if is the middle-third Cantor example on the line, there cannot be more than two orthogonal Fourier frequencies [7, Theorem 6.1], while a similar Cantor example, using instead a subdivision scale 4 (i.e., ), turns out to have an ONB in consisting of Fourier frequencies [7, Theorem 3.4]. With the effort of Jorgensen and Pedersen [7, Example 7.1], Strichartz [8], Li [3], and Yuan [9], the related conclusions discussed that the diagonal elements of are all even or odd, If one of the diagonal elements is even, what about the result? Abstract: A new bithiophene-based organic luminescence material, named 5,5 -bis(4-N-carbazoylstyryl)-2,2 -bithiophene (BCSBT), was synthesized. Its single-photon excited fluorescence band is located in the range of 520 530 nm, with a quantum yield of around 10 %. The compound emits strong two-photon-excited fluorescence when excited by 200 fs laser pulses. The two-photon absorption cross section of BCSBT was found to be 124×10 50 cm4 s by the two-photon-excited fluorescence method.
Experimental study of hemarisin in protecting mice from lethal endotoxin shock and inhibiting production of proinflammatory cytokines

Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of hemarisin(lipopolysaccharide from Bacillus prodigiosus) on protecting mice from lethal endotoxin shock,and explore the underlying mechanism of action.Methods Models of lethal endotoxin shock and endotoximia were reproduced in KM mice by intraperitoneal(ip) administration of lipopolysaccharides(endotoxin) from Pseudomonas aeruginosa in doses of 60mg/kg or 10mg/kg respectively.Exudate cells from peritoneal carity activated by endotoxin were used as in vitro inflammatory cell model.Levels of interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The survival rate was found to be higher in mice prophylactically treated with 100 or 50 U/kg hemarisin(0.5h before endotoxin administration)(70% and 55%) than in model group(10%,P < 0.01).The serum levels of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly lower in 100 or 50 U/kg hemarisin-treated mice(0.5h before endotoxin administration) than in model groups(P < 0.05).Hemarisin(20U/mL) alone showed slight stimulatory effect to peritoneal exudate cells in producing IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α in vitro(P < 0.05).When used in combination with endotoxin,however,hemarisin(20 and 10 U/mL) showed antagonistic effect against endotoxin in inducing the secretion of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α in vitro(P < 0.05).Conclusions Hemarisin shows a slight promotive effect on production of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α when it is used alone.When used in combination with endotoxin,however,hemarisin may inhibit endotoxin from stimulating the production of proinflammatory cytokines and antagonize the endotoxin toxicity.

Abstract: This paper investigates the time-domain design method of two-channel signal-adapted FIR alias-free fllterbanks without Perfect Reconstruction (PR) constraints. For subband coders based on fllterbanks without PR constraints, the total distortion is composed of two parts: the systemic distortion and quantization distortion. For a given total bit budget, the minimization of the total distortion is an unconstrained nonlinear programming. Due to its high nonlinearity, the design results greatly depend on selection of initial fllterbanks. Two approaches to select the initial fllterbanks, the associated algorithm and designs of several examples are given in this paper. The obtained signal-adapted fllterbanks achieve larger subband coding gains than the existing methods, which verifies our method is effective.

Abstract: 测量了BIBO晶体的主轴折射率.对BIBO晶体在整个空间内的倍频性质进行了系统讨论.当基频 光为Nd:YAG激光时(λ=1064nm),发现最大的有效非线性光学系数位于(168.9°,90°) 的Ⅰ类相位匹配方向上.测量了BIBO晶体的容限角、容限温度、光损伤阈值,以及1064nm的 腔外、腔内倍频性质.实验中,最大腔外倍频转换效率达到68%,腔内倍频输出达到1.06W.
Statistical Modeling of SAR Images: A Survey

Abstract: Statistical modeling is essential to SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) image interpretation. It aims to describe SAR images through statistical methods and reveal the characteristics of these images. Moreover, statistical modeling can provide a technical support for a comprehensive understanding of terrain scattering mechanism, which helps to develop algorithms for effective image interpretation and creditable image simulation. Numerous statistical models have been developed to describe SAR image data, and the purpose of this paper is to categorize and evaluate these models. We first summarize the development history and the current researching state of statistical modeling, then different SAR image models developed from the product model are mainly discussed in detail. Relevant issues are also discussed. Several promising directions for future research are concluded at last.

Abstract: Soil total potassium,readily available potassium and slow release potassium were determined by analyzing 1130 soil samples taken recently and were compared with the determinations of the National Second Soil Survey during 1985.Results showed that soil available potassium content was 102 6mg/kg,an annual average decrease by 3 04mg/kg;the average content of slow release potassium was 863mg/kg,ranging from 177 5mg/kg to 2553mg/kg; the average content of total potassium was 17 2g/kg,decrease by 10 4%,ranging from 16 9% for Shajiang black soil to 0 5% for cinnamon soil.

Abstract: The diagnostic value of CSF tau for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) has been widely evaluated, showing a markedly disease-relative manner. However, the profiles of tau isoforms in CSF of CJD patients remain unknown. Here, we prepared the exon-specific antibodies against the peptides encoded by exon-2, exon-3 and exon-10 of human tau protein and evaluated the reactive profiles of tau in CSF samples from the patients with probable CJD.
