Agorafobia: Perspectivas fenomenológica e existencial
Reis,Gonalo; Teixeira,José A. Carvalho;
Análise Psicológica , 2007,
Abstract: the authors develop a phenomenological and existential analysis of agoraphobia, characterizing the role of the agoraphobic experience as to-almost-being-oneself, and make reference to agoraphobic vertigo experience as central for the understanding of the phenomena. the agoraphobia is considered as a moral dilemma in existence that restricts the individual?s freedom of choice and the panic experience is analyzed following of the subjective-intersubjective movement demonstrating its possible credit for existential psychotherapy which, as a therapeutical relation, is part of the individual?s lived world of relations and allows the exploration of the assumptions that support the agoraphobic world as a possibility to existence.
Tako-Tsubo Cardiomyopathy—The Role of Physical and Emotional Stressors: Two Case Report  [PDF]
Patrícia Margarida Serra Carvalho, Jandira Helena Lima, Jo?o Bernardo Cunha, Patrícia Glória Dinis Dias, José Gonalo Diniz Vieira, José Manuel Nascimento Costa
International Journal of Clinical Medicine (IJCM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ijcm.2012.32029
Abstract: Introduction: Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy describes a form of acute and reversible left ventricular dysfunction with a clinical presentation, ECG and cardiac biomarkers that makes it indistinguishable from acute coronary syndrome. Case Presentation: The authors present two cases of tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy in postmenopausal women, the first case following an emotional stressful event and a second case following a blood transfusion and probably associated with intravenous catecholamine perfusion. Both had unobstructed coronary arteries and regional wall-motion abnormalities typical of this syndrome. Conclusions: Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy is a condition often misdiagnosed. A clinical presentation suggestive of acute coronary syndrome in a postmenopausal woman without history of coronary disease and in whom a precipitating stressful event can be found should lead the physician to suspect the diagnosis of tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy. This syndrome associated with blood transfusion has rarely been described.

Os nomes de família em Portugal: uma breve perspectiva histórica
Monteiro,Nuno Gonalo;
Etnográfica , 2008,
Abstract: this essay constitutes a first attempt to study a theme which, in spite of its enormous importance, has received little historical attention: the evolution of the portuguese practices of anthroponymy that had a worldwide impact due to portuguese imperial expansion. the author contrasts the changes that occurred at the turn of the twentieth century to the practices that were prevalent among the portuguese aristocracy ever since the great changes that took place at the end of the middle ages.
O ?arrast?o? de Carcavelos como onda noticiosa
Rosa,Gonalo Pereira;
Análise Social , 2011,
Abstract: crime provides the news media with headlines on a silver platter and is an inexhaustible source of reporting to serve up to the public. to a certain degree, the consistency across media, consensus among the reporters, the volume of news coverage, and the ?massaging? of the events into a form that is palatable to the public quickly generates a series of ?waves? or hypes of reporting. this is a phenomenon that has been neither placed into its sociological setting, nor studied with regard to its impact on that setting. this article examines the way in which the ?carcavelos mugging of 2005? conforms to the media hype model advanced by peter vasterman, and goes a step further by suggesting that when the tide of news enjoys widespread consensus, it is rare that the news coverage includes elements that go ?against the tide?.

Ferreira, Gonalo Costa;
Perspectivas em Ciência da Informa??o , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-99362011000300013
Abstract: we live in a fluid world characterized by complexity. dynamism of the relationship between agents, open systems, unpredictability, nonlinearity, self-organization, adaptability, creativity, instability, emergence, uncertainty, connectivity and flow are some of the hallmarks of contemporaneity, where information and networks emerge as catalysts of reality. in the social context, the exchange of information resources takes place through social relations established between social agents. the formed intertwined relationships are the social networks through which information flows. from this point of view, we should try to answer the question, "how does social information flows relate to the topology and dynamics of social networks?" in this paper, we provide a historical overview of networks and social networks concepts, briefly describe the method of social networks analysis (sna) and illustrate the information behavior in organizations with a case study of information social networks.

The 1957 regulations for the reform of the teaching of architecture initiated a process of successive changes in everyday practices in architecture courses that would culminate in a crisis in 1969. During the decade in which it was in force, the new system proposed by the reform proved incapable of introducing new teaching methods or democratising the way in which the schools were run, and remained bound by the authoritarianism of the Ministry of Education. However, its academic and administrative rigidity encouraged teachers and students to develop strategies, involving both planning and reflection and debate, aimed at promoting the social function of the architect as a professional concerned with the problems of society and the city, as opposed to the technocratic architect.In 1968 and 1969 the architecture schools in Lisbon and Oporto, like the university and society in general, politicised their discourse. Students and teachers openly called for major changes in school management, teaching methods and educational objectives, demanding a reform of the 1957 Reform.This text explores the critical moments in this process of growing political and social awareness amongst students, who sought to re
O “arrast o” de Carcavelos como onda noticiosa The Carcavelos mugging as a media hype
Gonalo Pereira Rosa
Crime provides the news media with headlines on a silver platter and is an inexhaustible source of reporting to serve up to the public. To a certain degree, the consistency across media, consensus among the reporters, the volume of news coverage, and the “massaging” of the events into a form that is palatable to the public quickly generates a series of “waves” or hypes of reporting. This is a phenomenon that has been neither placed into its sociological setting, nor studied with regard to its impact on that setting. This article examines the way in which the “Carcavelos mugging of 2005” conforms to the media hype model advanced by Peter Vasterman, and goes a step further by suggesting that when the tide of news enjoys widespread consensus, it is rare that the news coverage includes elements that go “against the tide”.
