Guerra,Armira; Marín,Gloria;
Zootecnia Tropical , 2002,
Abstract: mugil liza (lebranche) is the main species in the artisanal fishery of the unare lagoon, venezuela. in this work, there were studied out lebranche biometrics, populations parameters, and a preliminary analysis of its fisheries. a total of 1,114 specimens were examined during the period 1997 and 1998. the popu1ation was found to be composed of individuals which size fluctuated between 170 and 500 mm total length. in 1997, 84% of the total sample was between 240 and 380 mm total length, where as in 1998, 91% was between 340 and 440 mrn. the growth was isometric and the value of asintotic lenght was 400 mm, and the annual growth rate was 1.0. the growth of the lebranche required at least two years inside the lagoon. natural mortality was 1.72 in 1997 and 1.69 in 1998. lebranche production reached 530 mt in 1992, and only 97 in 1998. the origin of this fall in the catch may be associated to a low recruitment of alevines, closing of the lagoon's mouths which increased amounts of freshwater coming from the unare river, and a probable overfishing.

Health (Health) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/health.2015.712177
Abstract: Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyse the practical implementation of regional and na-tional policies through the Protocol of Care of Children and Adolescents in School (2010) in Extremadura Region (Spain), and to compare its contents with the international standards of diabetes care at school defined by American Diabetes Association and International Diabetes Federation. The measures not only affect the security and diabetes care, but also inclusion and the right to health. Methods: A documental comparative analysis between the local and international standards about diabetes care in school setting is carried out. This analysis is framed in a larger project focused on the study of health promoting school and diabetes education, in which perceptions of children and adolescents with diabetes, their parents and school staff were studied. Results: The Protocol of Care of Children and Adolescents in School (2010) contains some international recommendations about the care of T1DM at school, but in other cases the measures are non-specific. The distribution of responsibilities for care at school is unclear and no monitoring and evaluation indicators are defined. Some elements are identified to be implemented in the tool to favour the security, management of T1DM care and wellbeing. In general, these elements refer to school plan for diabetes care, school organization and teachers, and school community training. Conclusion: It is required to develop specific policies and decisive action to ensure the right to health of children with diabetes and the full application of international standards for diabetes care at school.
INFERENCES ON THE GEOMETRY OF THE NAZCA PLATE IN NORTHWESTERN PERú BASED ON DATA COLLECTED BY A LOCAL SEISMOGRAPH NETWORK

Earth Sciences Research Journal , 2006,
Abstract: in central and southern peru, local and teleseismic data allow having insights on the wadati-benioff zone (wbz) geometry. in the region of northern perú, only rough estimates of the wbz geometry have been proposed, and were obtained using teleseismic data due to the reduced number of mb≥4.0-magnitude earthquakes available. the installation of a local seismic network in the nw border of northern perú, allowed the recording of a large number of earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 1.8 to 4.1 ml, and maximum depths of 120 km., distributed over the area where the occurrence of earthquakes with magnitudes > 4.0 is scarce. in a vertical section, oriented n70?e earthquakes are distributed along a 10° dipping plane from the trench. landwards from the coastline, the dip angle increases to 28°. these results allow a high resolution definition of the nazca plate geometry in nw perú. focal mechanisms computed for 22 earthquakes located between 50 and 120 km depth beneath the network suggest the development of deformation processes in direction parallel to the convergence nazca plate direction.

DYNA , 2009,
Abstract: in this study, the milling of clinker was evaluated by varying the mill speed (24 and 72 rpm), residence time (3 and 5 hours) and grinding media load (30 and 40 %) in a ball mill. the experiment was designed as a three level factorial statistical model. the main objective was to assess the effect of these parameters on cumulative passing percentage (cpp) and surface area, both of which affect the quality of commercial cement. physico-chemical properties, composition, mineralogy and granulometric distribution were determined using x ray fluorescence, surface area analysis and sieving granulometric analysis. results showed that that cpp through a 325 mesh increases considerably with mill spin speed, that the rate of cpp increase decreases with residence time and that grinding media load changes were not significant. the surface area increased mainly as a function of increases in mill spin speed, while residence time and grinding media load had lesser impacts.
Energy power forward prices. Are forward prices rationally determined by agents in the Colombian market?
AD-minister , 2011,
Abstract: This article considers fixed-terms transactions made by agents, in diverse segments of the Colombian energy power market, using forward contracts in order to secure buying/selling prices. The random behavior of prices and quantities, which is handled in the energy power flux, implies the sacrifice of agents according to the transaction segment (regulated, non-regulated or intermediary). In addition to this, the premium, which is paid in the commercial exchange with forwards, is defined by the agents’ expectations and is a reflection of their risk aversion level. This involves financial rationality in the establishment of the premium in order to secure a price on uncertain energy power quantity in the future. Thus, the measurement of such expectation becomes useful, as it is defined by the type of market in which the transaction is being made.
