Abstract: O principal objetivo da presente pesquisa consiste em abordar essas tendências na produ o de Disserta es de Mestrado no Programa de Pós-gradua o em Educa o (PPGE) da Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB), Blumenau, Santa Catarina, Brasil. A pesquisa é de caráter quali-quantitativo e fundamenta-se no estudo de 44 Disserta es de Mestrado em Educa o da FURB relacionadas ao Ensino de Ciência, Filosofia e Epistemologia da Educa o. Pode-se observar uma importante influência das perspectivas filosóficas de Paulo Freire e de Thomas S. Kuhn nas Disserta es que têm com foco a Filosofia e Epistemologia da Educa o. Já nas Disserta es que têm como problemática de pesquisa o Ensino de Ciências, a maior fundamenta o está em Ubiratan D′Ambrósio e Fritjof Capra. Em ambos o caso, prevalece a pesquisa qualitativa. A metodologia de pesquisa utilizada aparece no capítulo introdutório. Observa-se que as Disserta es sobre o Ensino de Ciências colocam de forma mais explícita os autores utilizados na defini o da Metodologia da Pesquisa. As tendências teórico-metodológicas da produ o de Disserta es do Mestrado em Educa o da FURB manifestam a crescente preocupa o em refletir sobre os fundamentos da Pesquisa em Educa o e sua cientificidade. The main objective of this research is to address these trends in the production of Dissertations in the Masters Program for Post-graduate diploma in Education (PPGE) Regional at the University of Blumenau (FURB), Blumenau, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The search is character-quality quantitative and based on the study of 44 Dissertations of Master in Education of FURB related to the Teaching of Science, Philosophy and Epistemologia Education. You can see a significant influence of philosophical perspectives of Paulo Freire and Thomas S. Kuhn in Dissertations have with the focus Epistemologia Philosophy and Education. Already in Dissertations that are problematic to search the Teaching of Science, the biggest reasons is Ubiratan D'Ambrose and Fritjof Capra. In both cases, the prevailing qualitative research. The methodology used appears in the search introductory chapter. It is observed that the Dissertations on the Teaching of Science put in a more explicit the authors used in the definition of the Research Methodology. The theoretical and methodological trends in the production of Dissertations of the Masters in Education of FURB expressed concern at the increasing reflect on the foundations of Research in Education and its cientificidade. Abstract: No presente artigo se exp e resumidamente o resultado da pesquisa de pós-doutorado que realizei de dezembro de 2006 a maio de 2007, na Faculdade de Educa o (FE) da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), tributando ao projeto Epistemologias e Teorias do Conhecimento na Pesquisa Educacional: a produ o dos Doutorados em Educa o no Estado de S o Paulo (1985-2004), do Grupo Paidéia do Departamento de Filosofia e História da Educa o (DFHE), sob a dire o e supervis o do Dr. Silvio Ancizar Sánchez Gamboa. Abstract: O processo educativo vivenciado em nossas universidades muitas vezes tem se sustentado numa prática docente tradicional, concebendo o aluno como receptor de conteúdos prontos e acabados. Esta prática dificulta o autêntico pensar, priorizando a reprodu o em detrimento das idéias. Em contrapartida, o processo educativo que ultrapassa os limites de reprodu o, fundamenta-se na criatividade e estimula a a o-reflex o, formando assim o profissional reflexivo. O estudante do curso de Medicina deve sentir-se desafiado a explorar e aprofundar seu conhecimento, a questionar e a reconstruir o conhecimento. A pesquisa como princípio pedagógico é uma das formas para que se concretize tal pressuposto. Este trabalho, uma pesquisa bibliográfica, pretende analisar as diretrizes que podem ser assumidas como referenciais para a forma o do profissional de saúde deste século,identificar exigências que se colocam para um profissional da área de saúde e analisar a pesquisa como princípio pedagógico na forma o e constru o do conhecimento destes mesmos profissionais, Os teóricos escolhidos para fundamentar esta pesquisa s o: Edgar Morin, Paulo Freire, Pedro Demo e Donald Sch n. The education process experienced in our universities often has been sustained in a practice traditional teaching, designing the student as receiver of content ready and finished. This practice prevents the authentic thinking, prioritizing the reproduction at the expense of ideas. However, the education process that goes beyond the limits of reproduction, is based on the creativity and stimulates action-reflection, forming so professional reflective. The student of the course of Medicine must feel challenged to explore and deepen their knowledge, to question and rebuild knowledge. The research as a principle teaching is one way to come into being this assumption. This work, a bibliographic research, intends to examine the guidelines that can be taken as reference for the training of professional health of this century, identify requirements that arise for a professional in the area of health and analyze the survey as a teaching and training in construction the knowledge of these professionals, the theoretical chosen to support this research are: Edgar Morin, Paulo Freire, Pedro Demo and Donald Sch n. Abstract: Analisamos as vertentes teórico-metodológicas que nortearam os TCCs da Pedagogia da FURB no período de 2001 a 2006. Fizemos uma análise documental dos 321 trabalhos realizados. Constatamos que todos os trabalhos desenvolvidos voltaram-se à área da Educa o. Quanto às subáreas, predominaram: educa o pré-escolar, psicologia educacional, educa o especial e sociologia da educa o. Os teóricos mais utilizados foram: Vygotsky, Piaget, Kramer, Freire, áries, Wallon e Ferreiro. Frente às subáreas, sugerimos que as futuras pesquisas contemplem investiga es nos campos n o ou poucos explorados. Entendemos que os clássicos s o importantes e precisam ser utilizados, entretanto, sentimos falta, em alguns trabalhos, de autores mais específicos ao objeto em estudo. As pesquisas, em sua maioria, delinearam-se na abordagem qualitativa, destacando-se o uso de dados quantitativos em alguns trabalhos. Quanto aos tipos de pesquisa predominaram a pesquisa exploratória, participante e estudo de caso. Consideramos que estes tipos de pesquisa est o relacionados ao processo de inicia o à pesquisa. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados, os mais utilizados foram o questionário, precedido da entrevista e da observa o. Cabe ressaltar, que muitos acadêmicos utilizaram mais de um instrumento, o que possivelmente possibilitou compreender o objeto sob vários aspectos. A documental analysis has been made on the methodological and theoretical guidelines in the end of term papers of the Pedagogy Course at FURB University in 321 works from 2001 to 2006. It has been noticed that all the developed papers focused the educational area. As for the sub areas, the predominant ones were: education in Pre School, educational psychology, special education and educational sociology. The most used theoretical authors were: Vygotsky, Piaget, Kramer, Freire, Aries, Wallon and Ferreiro. For the sub areas, it has been suggested that the future researches should include investigations on less or not focused studied fields. The importance of classic objects of research has been understood and those must be tackled. However, in some works there is an absence of more specific authors on the studied object. Most researches have been developed on the qualitative approach and some have used quantitative data. In relation to the research types, the predominant ones were the exploratory, participant and case study types. Abstract: domestic violence affects all members in a family and children are considered the main victims. this qualitative study aimed to grasp the perception of mothers whose daughters were sexually abused. data were collected between february and march 2007 in a governmental facility in fortaleza-ce, brazil through semi-structured interviews with ten mothers of sexually abused children. data were submitted to the collective subject discourse technique from which three themes emerged: guilt is rooted in the motherhood myth, unhealable pain and despair as a consequence of a feeling of powerlessness. results evidenced that mothers experience a range of feelings in which pain, revulsion and powerlessness are highlighted. society should be engaged in the subject and interested in understanding violence, its magnitude and the whole affected chain, otherwise, only good intentions will remain, lost in the void from the lack of action.

Abstract: objective: to describe the translation into brazilian portuguese and cross-cultural adaptation of the motor activity log (mal), an instrument specifically designed to assess function of the more severely affected upper limb in hemiplegics. methods: the mal was translated and adapted according to standardized procedures and submitted to test-retest reliability assessment (intraclass correlation coefficient, icc). other psychometric properties were investigated using rasch analysis in 77 chronic hemiplegics (41 men, mean age = 57.5 ± 12.4 years). results: an excellent icc (0.98) was obtained for the total scores of both the quantity and quality mal scales. when assessing degree of difficulty, "using a key to unlock the door" was the most difficult item on the quantity scale, whereas "washing hands" was the easiest one. on the quality scale, the most difficult item was "using the tv remote control," and the easiest one was "drying hands." the analyses showed that the set of items as a whole fit into the model; however, the individual analyses indicated that four items did not meet the expectations of the model in both the quantity (items 21, 16, 14, and 13) and quality (items 9, 21, 23, and 22) scales. irregular response patterns were observed, and five subjects obtained the minimum score. there was disagreement between item difficulty and sample ability, suggesting that the abilities of individuals were below the degree of difficulty of the assessed items. a significant correlation was observed between grip strength of the more severely affected upper limb and motor skill measurement among individuals on the quantity (r = 0.51, p < 0.0001) and quality scales (r = 0.57, p < 0.0001), and also between the two scales when measuring the individuals' motor skills (r = 0.97, p < 0.0001). conclusions: mal-brazil is potentially useful to evaluate the more severely affected upper limb in brazilian patients with chronic hemiplegia. however, the instrument has limitations for use

Abstract: purpose: to analyze the cognitive functions in elderly during normal aging and check if variables such as sex, age and education interfere in the profile of those abilities. methods: a prospective, traverse and observational study was accomplished with a sample constituted by 50 institutionalized elderly without neurological compromising and memory-related complaint, with age varying from 65 to 89 years and having an education grade varying from 0 to 15 years. the test used in this study was the consortium to establish a registry for alzheimer's disease (cerad). results: the feminine gender obtained significant difference in the memory, recall and recognition tests. the age group: 65 - 75 years, obtained significant difference in the recall tests. the range of education from 8 to 15 years obtained significant difference in the boston tests and in the fluency test. conclusion: women had a better performance in the tests that involved memory. the elderly considered youths were better in the proof of memory related to recall. the individuals that had a better instruction grade obtained a better performance in the abilities that involved language.

Abstract: OBJETIVO: analisar as fun es cognitivas em idosos no envelhecimento normal e verificar se variáveis como sexo, idade e escolaridade interferem no perfil dessas habilidades. MéTODOS: foi realizado um estudo prospectivo, observacional transversal, com uma amostra constituída por 50 idosos institucionalizados, sem comprometimento neurológico e queixa de memória, com idade variando de 65 a 89 anos que possuíam grau de escolaridade variando de 0 a 15 anos. O teste utilizado neste estudo foi o Consortium to Establish a Registry for Alzheimer's Disease (CERAD). RESULTADOS: o sexo feminino obteve diferen a significante nos subtestes de Memória, Evoca o e Reconhecimento. A faixa etária de 65 - 75 anos obteve diferen a significante no subteste de Evoca o. A faixa de escolaridade de 8 - 15 anos obteve diferen a significante nos subtestes de Boston e no de Fluência. CONCLUS O: as mulheres tiveram um melhor desempenho nos subtestes que envolviam memória. Os idosos considerados jovens foram melhores na prova de memória relacionada à evoca o. Os indivíduos que tiveram um maior grau de instru o obtiveram um melhor desempenho nas habilidades que envolviam linguagem. Post-embryonic development of Cochliomyia macellaria (Fabricius) (Diptera: Calliphoridae), reared on two natural diets, under controlled conditions

Abstract: Cochliomyia macellaria is of medical and veterinary interest, because it is an enteropathogen vector and causes secondary miyasis, and low cost diets are needed that maintain rearing quality of this species. The objective of this study was to assess a chicken gizzard diet, compared to beef, in the post-embrionic development of C. macellaria. Forty neolarvas (3rd generation) were transferred to 80g diets (four replications/treatment). The body mass of the mature larvae was recorded and the larvae were transferred to test tubes, kept at T 30oC day/28oC night, RH 70±10%, 12 hours light period, and observed daily. There was a significant difference between the body mass of larvae reared on the chicken gizzard (0.067g) and beef (0.062g) diets. There was no significant difference between the mean duration in days of the larval (4.00; 4.17), pupa (4.09; 4.04) and neolarva to adult (8.07 and 8.16) stages based on the gizzard and beef diets, respectively. The mean larval, pupa and total viability (> 85%) did not differ statistically by the Student’s t test (at 5% significance). There was no deviation in the sex ratio and no abnormality was observed in the adults. The results suggest that the chicken gizzard diet is an efficacious and cheap alternative for rearing C. macellaria in the laboratory.
