Giraldo-Dávila,Andrés Felipe; Botero-Montoya,Luís Horacio; Molleda-Medina,Juan Carlos; Bravo,Vanessa;
Palabra Clave , 2011,
Abstract: the cross-national conflict shifting theory is an analytical focus that helps to understand public relations from a cultural, ethical and political perspective where stakeholders exert pressure about the behavior of transnational corporations, especially in subsidiaries that operate in developing countries. this research project explores the issue of the transnational crisis generated by the case of chiquita brands, suspected of having sponsored paramilitary groups in colombia between 1997 and 2004. this study offers the results of a quantitative content analysis carried out analyzing the news content about this transnational crisis in major newspapers published in colombia and the united states. we analyzed a total of 146 news stories between march 1, 2007 and june 30, 2008, time in which this transnational corporation confronted a judiciary demand in the united states and developed corporative responses to face the crisis. the study was developed by a group of researches formed by professors and students of the school of communication at the universidad de medellín, colombia, and the college of journalism and communications at the university of florida, in the united states.

Palabra Clave , 2011,
'Realidad virtual': análisis del marco teórico para explorar nuevos modelos de comunicación
Giraldo Dávila,Andrés Felipe;
Anagramas -Rumbos y sentidos de la comunicación- , 2011,
Abstract: this article is the result of a revaluation of the theoretical framework and methodological process of a project called ''new communication models,'' conducted by a research team known as ''communication, organization, and politics'' (cop) from universidad de medellin school of communication. it was found that communication models should be analyzed from three different points of view. first, from the link between virtuality and reality. second, the existing relationship between information technology processes and social sciences. third, modifications of public and private spheres due to virtual tendencies. quantitative and ethnographic methods do not make design of new communication models easier, so a qualitative-descriptive methodological process was adopted. besides, social interactions derived from virtual use come together to the so called ''virtual reality'' in which man is involved, so assumptions on the theory of interface could provide an appropriate approach for describing new communication models.
Global Control of the Furuta Pendulum Using Artificial Neural Networks and Feedback of State Variables
Luisa F. Escobar-Dávila,Oscar D. Montoya-Giraldo,Didier Giraldo-Buitrago
Tecno Lógicas , 2013,
Abstract: This paper presents the mathematical modeling of the Furuta Pendu-lum by power functions, taking into account the non linear own dynamics of the physical systems and considering the existing couplings between the electric and mechanic devices. A control process based on feedback of state variables (FSV) for the equilibrium point is developed and two topics for the non linear zone are addressed. First of all, functions are implemented to represent the energetic states of the plant in a global way and the operation regions are established (“Swing up” zone), and later Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) are employed to simulate the behavior of the energy functions. Finally, it is presented the combination between the control techniques, considering the own constrains of the actuators and sensors used, besides of this, a study is done in a simulated environment of the physical phenomena that may disturb system behavior, and the capacity, sensitivity and robustness of the controller is verified.
Introducción a la propuesta contable de García-Casella
Mejía-Soto,Eutimio; Montes-Salazar,Carlos Alberto; Dávila-Giraldo,Gloria Cecilia;
Cuadernos de Contabilidad , 2011,
Abstract: the present work embodies an introduction to the thoughts on accountancy developed by argentinian professor carlos luis garcía-casella, who has proposed the development of a general accounting theory departing from the work of richard matterssich, going beyond the idea of restraining accounting knowledge to areas such as economy, management or financing. the author establishes a wide connection for accountancy, allowing it to support the financial, managerial, economical, social and political accounting models, using qualitative and quantitative, monetary and non-monetary representations.

SIMPLIFICACIóN DE SE ALES SENOIDALES Y COSENOIDALES MEDIANTE TRIANGULOS DE CANO OBTENIDOS USANDO PROPIEDADES DE LA CONVOLUCION

Scientia Et Technica , 2011,
Environmental effect of conventional and GM crops of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) and corn (Zea mays L.)
Chaparro Giraldo Alejandro,ávila Kelly,Reyes Giovanni
Agronomía Colombiana , 2011,
Abstract: In the corn belt of Valle de San Juan and in the cotton zone of El Espinal, municipalities in the department of Tolima (Colombia), 10 conventional corn producers, 10 producers of genetically modified corn, five producers of conventional cotton and 15 producers of transgenic cotton were surveyed in the first half of 2009 to contrast the differences in the environmental impact associated with use of insecticides and herbicides, which were evaluated by estimating the environmental index quotient-EIQ. In the case of maize, an EIQ of 42 was found in the conventional type, while transgenic technology had an EIQ of 3.03. In the cultivation of cotton, an EIQ of 263.59 was found for the conventional type while for transgenic technology this value varied between 335.75 (Nuopal BG/RR) and 324.79 (DP 455 BG/RR). These data showed a lower environmental impact using GM technology in the cultivation of maize when compared to the conventional counterpart, in connection with the use of insecticides and herbicides, in the context of time, space and genotypic analysis. This effect was not observed in the case of cotton, where environmental impacts were similar.

Modernidad y parrhesía: Michel Foucault y la cuestión de la resistencia como éthos
Giraldo Díaz,Reinaldo;
Estudios de Filosofía , 2011,
Abstract: in this research article the elaborations on truth-telling from michel foucault are hold, which are inscribed in the context of concerns about the present. the analysis of the french philosopher of antiquity did not seek to formulate the theory of power or of an universal and abstract subject, but to show the historical constitution of the different forms of subject in relation to the games of truth, reveal the contingent nature of our goals and of our history and to show a power to resist to the subjection mechanism from west.
