História (S?o Paulo) , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-90742007000100007
Abstract: the several kinds of female asceticism observed in the roman empire during the first three centuries a.d. will be gathered in a new religious experience that begins around 270 a.d.: the monasticism. throughout the analysis of the lausiac history, written by palladius, bishop of hellenopolis, in bitinia, we aim at researching about the female ascetics social position and their actions as monastic movement members. besides, we reflect over the kind of power women could exercise in their local communities compared with the holy men.
A forma o dos cidad os do céu: Jo o Crisóstomo e a Christon paideia = Bringing up the heavenly citizens: John Chrysostom and the Christon Paideia

Acta Scientiarum : Education , 2010,
John Chrysostom was undoubtedly one of the most influent Christian intellectuals in the Later Roman Empire. Owing to the amazing bulk of his texts, including more than nine hundred homilies and several letters and theological tracts, as well as his intervention as an active religious leader in Antioch and Constantinople, the two most important Roman eastern cities in antiquity, he became an outstanding personality in the History of the Church. Ordained as presbyter in Antioch in 386, John was allowed by his bishop, Flavian, to preach in the Antiochene churches. Henceforward, he started carrying out an intense missionary activity in order to spread Christian values amidst his congregation. In this article, we intend to discuss theeducational “program” conceived by John Chrysostom based on the analysis of De innani gloria, a tract delivered by 393 in which the author explains to parents how they can neutralize the effect of the Greco-Roman modus Vivendi – an everlasting source of frailties and immorality according to the author – on children.

Abstract:

Zinc oxide (ZnO) and aluminum-doped zinc oxide (ZnO:Al) thin films were deposited onto glass and silicon substrates by RF magnetron sputtering using a zinc-aluminum target. Both films were deposited at a growth rate of 12.5 nm/min to a thickness of around 750 nm. In the visible region, the films exhibit optical transmittances which are greater than 80%. The optical energy gap of ZnO films increased from 3.28 eV to 3.36 eV upon doping with Al. This increase is related to the increase in carrier density from 5.9 × 1018 cm-3 to 2.6 × 1019 cm-3. The RMS surface roughness of ZnO films grown on glass increased from 14 to 28 nm even with only 0.9% at Al content. XRD analysis revealed that the ZnO films are polycrystalline with preferential growth parallel to the (002) plane, which corresponds to the wurtzite structure of ZnO.

A case study applying process and project alignment methodology
Martins, Paula Ventura;Silva, Alberto Rodrigues da;
Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society , 2006, DOI: 10.1007/BF03194496
Abstract: software process improvement (spi) is one of the main software development challenges. however, spi standards and models (cmmi, spice) have not been always adopted with success. the current problem is a lack of strategy to implement successfully these standards and models. to undertake this objective is essential observe real life experiences and detect process and project mutual relationships. without this alignment it will not be possible to find out how process management is really important to achieve organization's strategic objectives. this paper proposes a methodology that allows the definition, evaluation and improvement of an organization software development process. this proposal, called a process and project alignment methodology (propam), allows the specification of an organization development process, as well process and project alignment. propam presents the following life cycle: (1) process definition; (2) project definition considering a base process model; (3) project coordination and monitoring and (4) process improvement assessment. this paper also provides an overview of the action plan to be taken within the software organizations that intent to conduct a spi initiative. this plan includes two distinct phases: (1) specify the development process and (2) analyze projects, starting an spi effort. in order to evaluate propam, a study case is undertaken. the case study is performed following the action plan and presents all the steps of the propam. final results show that, when the organization started using propam, process and project alignment reduced project planning time and effort. propam also introduced new organizational practices that result in a spi program.
Identification of SSR and RAPD markers linked to a resistance allele for angular leaf spot in the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) line ESAL 550

Genetics and Molecular Biology , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S1415-47572003000400009
Abstract: the objective of this study was to identify rapd and ssr markers associated with a resistant allele for angular leaf spot (phaeoisariopsis griseola) from the line 'esal 550', derived from the andean 'jalo eep 558' cultivar, to assist selection of resistant genotypes. the resistant line 'esal 550' and the susceptible cultivar 'carioca mg' were crossed to generate f1 and f2 populations. one hundred and twenty f2:3 families were evaluated. the dna of the 12 most resistant families was bulked and the same was done with the dna of the 10 most susceptible, generating two contrasting bulks. one rapd and one ssr marker was found to be linked in coupling phase to the resistant allele. the ssr marker was amplified by the primer pv-atct001282c, and its distance from the resistant allele was 7.6 cm. this is the most useful marker for indirect selection of resistant plants in segregating populations. the rapd marker was amplified by the primer opp07857c linked in coupling phase to the resistant allele, and distant 24.4 cm. therefore, this rapd marker is not so useful in assisting selection because it is too far from the resistant allele.

Papeles de población , 2010,
Abstract: the pattern and organization of the urban network in metropolitan areas are complex, multiple and multi-dimensional. also, are based in the high mobility, which diversifies the possibility of dwelling choices and access to several family service, thus interfering in the special redistribution processes of the population and on the urban-regional space structure itself. seen the apprehension difficulties of these process, a methodology based in diffuse partitions was used, the grade of membership (gom), to analyze the multi-dimensional profiles of home mobility based on data from a sampling study survey conducted in two metropolitan áreas in the interior region of the state of s?o paulo. the analysis show that the mobility is directly affected by the cycle of life (in the home as well as the individual), by the migratory condition and the regional and intra-urban scales of the urban-metropolitan development.

This is the most useful marker for indirect selection of resistant plants in segregating populations. The RAPD marker was amplified by the primer OPP07(857C) linked in coupling phase to the resistant allele, and distant 24.4 cM. Therefore, this RAPD marker is not so useful in assisting selection because it is too far from the resistant allele.
