Contribui??es da Epigrafia para o estudo do cotidiano dos gladiadores romanos no início do Principado
Garraffoni, Renata Senna;
História (S?o Paulo) , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-90742005000100010
Abstract: in this paper i will explore the relevance of epigraphy (gladiators' tombstones and graffiti from pompeii) to discuss some images of the daily lives of gladiators. archaeological epigraphic evidence can provide us different approaches to this particular kind of roman entertainment; it can also help us to rethink the relationship between gladiators and roman society during the early empire and to propose more pluralist approaches to the roman past.
Os bandidos entre os romanos: leituras eruditas e percep??es populares
Garraffoni, Renata Senna;
História (S?o Paulo) , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-90742007000100011
Abstract: this paper discusses two interrelated topics. the first one explores how the roman elite represented ancient robbers in satirical literature. in this part i shall comment apuleius' metamorphoses. the second one focuses on epigraphy (metallic tablets dedicated to the godess sulis minerva that were found in bath, england) in order to discuss some images of the thievery at roman popular culture. archaeological epigraphic evidence can provide us different approaches to study the banditry perceptions; it can also help us to propose more pluralist approaches to the roman culture and past.

Semina : Ciências Sociais e Humanas , 2002,
Abstract: This article discusses the gladiators’ fights and the participation of people from different social classes in these shows. Considering the work by Ellen Meiksins Wood about “the myth of idle mob” in Greece, it is discusses how some scholars have been studying this subject on the Roman world. It also tries to explore some other ways to understand the fights, as shows that fascinated the Romans and had great popularity on the Empire’s daily life.
Garraffoni, André R. S.;Amorim, Dalton S.;
Iheringia. Série Zoologia , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0073-47212003000100011
Abstract: hypotheses about the phylogenetic relationships within questidae, and the relationships of this taxon with clitellata using parsimony analysis of 35 external and internal morphological characters of 36 terminal taxons are presented. the results show the position of questidae within scolecida and clitellata. within the polychaeta, clitellata is the sister group of the questidae. the results also indicate that the scolecida, microdrilli, polychaeta, oligochaeta and tubificidae are paraphyletic. clitellata, megadrilli, questidae, hirudinae are monophyletic.

Iheringia. Série Zoologia , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0073-47212003000400002
Abstract: terebellides sepultura sp. nov. is described from the continental shelf bottoms off southern brazil. terebellides carmenensis solis-weiss, fauchald & blankensteyn, 1991 is newly recorded for the brazilian coast and notes on t. anguicomus f. müller, 1858 and t. klemani kinberg, 1867 are provided. a key to 28 species of terebellides is given.

Considera es sobre o estudo da Antiguidade Clássica no Brasil = Studying classical antiquity in Brazil: an approach
Renata Senna Garraffoni,Pedro Paulo Funari
Acta Scientiarum : Education , 2010,
The aim of this article is to discuss some issues on studying Ancient History in Brazil, especially the Greek and Roman world. We argue that the renewal of classical studies, in the context of postmodernity, is important to rethink academic approaches to the ancient past and also to reconsider the dialogue between universities and schools.
CLADISTIC ANALYSIS OF OCTOBRANCHUS MARION & BOBRETZKY, 1875 (TRICHOBRANCHIDAE: POLYCHAETA) ANáLISE CLADíSTICA DO GêNERO Octobranchus MARION & BOBRETZKY, 1875 (TRICHOBRANCHIDAE: POLYCHAETA)

Brazilian Journal of Aquatic Science and Technology , 2000,
Abstract: The genus Octobranchus contains nine valid species: Octobranchus pacificus (Berkeley & Berkeley, 1954), O. antarcticus Monro, 1936, O. floriceps Kingston & Mackie, 1980, O. japonicus Hessle, 1917, O. lingulatus (Grube, 1863), O. longipes Blankensteyn & Lana, 1987, O. myunus Hutchings & Peart, 2000, O. phyllocomus Hartman, 1952 and O. sexlobatus Hartmann- Schr der & Rosenfeldt, 1989 with a wide world distribution (North Sea, Sea of Japan, Australia, Brazil, Mediterranean and Antarctica). The monophyly of Octobranchus is sustained by the presence of four pairs of gills from the second to the fifth segments, and for the presence of 16 thoracic setigers. Based in this presumed monophyly, a cladistic analysis was done to determine the phylogenetic relationships among the species. The analysis of the data generated 14 most parsimonious trees, whose consense allowed to recognize the following phylogenetic relationship (O. sexlobatus (O. floriceps (O. antarcticus (O. pacificus (O. phyllocomus ((O. japonicus, O. lingulatus) (O. longipes, O. myunus))))))). O gênero Octobranchus contém atualmente nove espécies válidas: Octobranchus pacificus (Berkeley & Berkeley, 1954), O. antarcticus Monro, 1936, O. floriceps Kingston & Mackie, 1980, O. japonicus Hessle, 1917, O. lingulatus (Grube, 1863), O. longipes Blankensteyn & Lana, 1987, O. myunus Hutchings & Peart, 2000, O. phyllocomus Hartman, 1952 e O. sexlobatus Hartmann- Schr der & Rosenfeldt, 1989 com ampla distribui o mundial (Mar do Norte, Mar do Jap o, Australia, Brasil, Mediterraneo e Antartica).
