Abstract: Ao longo do litoral norte do Estado de S o Paulo, diques alcalinos e de composi es variando desde básicas a intermediáriasocorrem paralelamente aos lineamentos de dire o geral NE-SW do Complexo Costeiro precambriano.

Yugoslav Journal of Operations Research , 2009, DOI: 10.2298/yjor0902249g
Abstract: The minimization of a particular nondifferentiable function is considered. The first and second order necessary conditions are given. A trust region method for minimization of this form of the objective function is presented. The algorithm uses the subgradient instead of the gradient. It is proved that the sequence of points generated by the algorithm has an accumulation point which satisfies the first and second order necessary conditions.

Di Piero, Robson Marcelo;Garda, Marcos Venicius;
Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-204X2008000900004
Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of chitosan on common bean (phaseolus vulgaris) anthracnose. different concentrations of chitosan suspension were sprayed on plants at v3 stage, in greenhouse; plants were also infected with colletotrichum lindemuthianum. the concentration of 9 mg per plant reduced the anthracnose severity in more than 50%, without causing any toxic effect on bean plants. the protecting effect was local and more intense in a time interval of 4 days between treatment and inoculation. mycelium growth reduction and spore germination inhibition of c. lindemuthianum were observed, when chitosan was used at 1 mg ml-1 and 80 μg ml-1, respectively. chitosan increased the glucanase activity in bean leaves. chitosan presents antifungal properties against c. lindemuthianum, as well as potential to induce resistance on bean plants. therefore, the plant spraying with chitosan can be an alternative to control anthracnose.

Yugoslav Journal of Operations Research , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/yjor1001071g
Abstract: In the paper the fuzzy extension of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) based on fuzzy numbers, and its application in solving a practical problem, are considered. The paper advocates the use of contradictory test to check the fuzzy user preferences during fuzzy AHP decision-making process. We also propose consistency check and deriving priorities from inconsistent fuzzy judgment matrices to be included in the process, in order to check if the fuzzy approach can be applied in the AHP for the problem considered. An aggregation of local priorities obtained at different levels into composite global priorities for the alternatives based on weighted-sum method is also discussed. The contradictory fuzzy judgment matrix is analyzed. Our theoretical consideration has been verified by an application of commercially available Super Decisions program (developed for solving multi-criteria optimization problems using AHP approach) on the problem previously treated in the literature. The obtained results are compared with those from the literature. The conclusions are given and the possibilities for further work in the field are pointed out.

National Journal of Community Medicine , 2010,
Abstract: The study reveals that though middle and upper middle class of people in Surat city are aware of global warming, contributory reasons and containment measures, yet remain insensitive in terms of practices. The paper points to the need to increase their collective consciousness and responsiveness to this issue through intense awareness campaigns and rallies to promote measures as pooling of vehicles, cycling, hybrid cars and efficient rapid public transport systems through institution of measures at individual, community and government levels to ameliorate hindrances to the adoption of environment friendly practices as reported in the observations.

Sensors , 2008, DOI: 10.3390/s8106566
Abstract: A CMOS Buried Double Junction PN (BDJ) photodetector consists of two vertically-stacked photodiodes. It can be operated as a photodiode with improved performance and wavelength-sensitive response. This paper presents a review of this device and its applications. The CMOS implementation and operating principle are firstly described. This includes the description of several key aspects directly related to the device performances, such as surface reflection, photon absorption and electron-hole pair generation, photocurrent and dark current generation, etc. SPICE modelling of the detector is then presented. Next, design and process considerations are proposed in order to improve the BDJ performance. Finally, several BDJ-detector-based image sensors provide a survey of their applications.

Garda-Buffon, Jaqueline;Badiale-Furlong, Eliana;
Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-50532010000400018
Abstract: the objective was to evaluate the capacity of aspergillus oryzae and rhizopus oryzae to degrade deoxynivalenol (don) during submerged fermentation. the submerged medium utilized was sterile distilled water with 1μg ml-1 don, added and inoculated with 4 × 106 spores ml-1 of the fungal species. sampling was performed every 48 h to 240 h. don analyses included residual mass, percentage and velocity of degradation. residual mass of don in the collected medium was extracted by liquid-liquid partition and quantified by gas chromatography through derivation with trifluoroacetic anhydride. the time required for the largest don degradation was 96 h and 240 h by aspergillus oryzae and rhizopus oryzae respectively, and degradation rate were 0.62 and 0.54 μg h-1, respectively. rhizopus oryzae caused the largest decrease in don at around 90% in 240 h, while aspergillus oryzae caused the most rapid degradation with a 74% reduction of don at 96 h.
Geochemistry of tourmalines associated with iron formation and quartz veins of the Morro da Pedra Preta Formation, Serra do Itaberaba Group (S?o Paulo, Brazil)

Abstract: tourmalines of intermediate schorl-dravite composition occur in iron formation (including metachert and tourmalinites), metasediments, calc-silicate and metabasic/intermediate rocks of the morro da pedra preta formation, a volcanic-sedimentary sequence of the serra do itaberaba group (northeast of s?o paulo city, southeastern brazil). the morro da pedra preta formation is crosscut by quartz veins that contain both intermediate schorl-dravite and an alkali-deficient, cr-(v-)bearing tourmaline, in which the occupancy of the x-site is ?0.51ca0.33na0.15, characterizing it as intermediate to foitite and magnesiofoitite end-members. mg# values for this tourmaline are higher than those for intermediate schorl-dravite. raman spectroscopy also confirms the presence of two groups of tourmalines. stable isotope data indicate sediment waters as fluid sources, rather than fluids from magmatic/post-magmatic sources. delta18o compositions for tourmalines, host metachert, and quartz veins are similar, showing that fluid equilibration occurred during crystallization of both quartz and tourmaline. syngenetic, intermediate schorl-dravite tourmalines were formed under submarine, sedimentary-exhalative conditions; amphibolite-grade metamorphism did not strongly affect their compositions. younger tourmalines of compositions intermediate to foitite and magnesiofoitite reflect the composition of the host rocks of quartz veins, due to fluid percolation along faults and fractures that caused leaching of cr (and v) and the crystallization of these alkali-deficient, cr-(v-)bearing tourmalines.
