La habilitación de traductores jurados en Galicia [Sworn translator certification in Galicia]
Garcia González, Marta
Papers Lextra , 2007,
Abstract: We deal here with the issue of professional certification for legal translation and interpreting from and into Galician, procedure regulated by Decreto 267/2002 of 13 June. First, we review the situation prior to legislation, passed after ten years of silence on the part of the autonomous administration. We then analyze the law and its application during its five-year implementation, including the first examination for certification of translators and interpreters announced in January 2007. Finally, we take brief stock of the job market for sworn translators from and into Galician, concluding with some remarks on the supply of translators and interpreters from and into Galician with respect to the demand for sworn translation and interpretation.
Separa??o de fases induzida por meio de rea??o química no sistema éter diglicidílico do bisfenol A e piperidina com poli(metacrilato de metila)
González Garcia, Filiberto;Soares, Bluma G.;
Polímeros , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-14282003000400008
Abstract: the phase separation and gelification behavior of epoxy system based on diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-a (dgeba) and piperidine modified with poly(methyl methacrylate) (pmma) were studied in the range between 60 °c and 120 °c. the morphology is influenced by the pmma content in the blend and also by the cure temperature. the molecular weight of pmma provokes slight changes on cloud point and does not affect the reaction rate. the systems modified by pmma exhibited kinetic retardation effect but the cloud point rate was higher than the polymerization rate.

Vieira, Sidney Rosa;Garcia, Miguel Angel González;González, Antonio Paz;Siqueira, Glécio Machado;
Bragantia , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0006-87052010000100023
Abstract: the objective of this study was to assess the spatial variability for soil water content as a function of time, in two distinct land uses. in order to do that, soil moisture measurements were taken in two adjacent plots, one of which was cultivated and the other was kept with natural vegetation, in galicia, spain. the water content was measured using a tdr at 15 cm depth. the soil was classified as an umbrisol (fao) and measurements were taken on a regular square grid of 1m on a flat 190 m2 plot, half of which was cultivated and comprised 100 sampling points and the other half was with natural vegetation and comprised 90 samplings points. dates of sampling were 29/october/1993, 16/march/1994 and 13/october/1994. the spatial variability was analyzed by the semivariograms, and by kriging estimation maps for each date and land use, and assessing temporal stability of the places where values close to the mean value occur. it was concluded that cultivation and cover crop affect the spatial dependence for soil water content since on the cultivated plot the spatial dependence tended to disappear as the water content increased. the reverse was found for the natural vegetation plot since it showed spatial dependence for larger distances as the water content increased. the time stability of soil water content was higher when spatial dependence among samples was lower.

González Garcia, Filiberto;Miguez, Eduardo;Tavares, Maria Inês B.;
Polímeros , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-14282008000100010
Abstract: the qualitative characterization of two commercial ethyneamines epoxide hardeners marketed by acros (u.s.a.) was carried out by using carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. the products were triethylenetetramine (teta) and tetraethylenepentamine (tepa). teta had four components, the most importante one being triethylenetetramine, an ethyleneamine of lineal structure, in a concentration of 60 mol%. another component had ramified structure, while the other two exhibited recurrent structures of the piperazina type. tepa had five components with similar structures. the major component was tetraethylenepentamine in an approximate concentration of 55 mol%. these results agree with the composition of similar products marketed by dow chemical company, namely deh 24 and deh 26, respectively.

González Garcia, Filiberto;Galego Fernández, Norma;
Polímeros , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-14282000000400009
Abstract: the curing reaction of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-a (dgeba) and diethylentriamine (deta) system was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (dsc). different kinetics expressions were found by isothermal and dynamic experiments that they justify mechanism changes with the temperature. the reaction follows a second order kinetics and has activation energy of 90 kj mol-1 at high temperatures (non-catalytic mechanism). the kinetics of the reactions at low temperatures manifested the existence of two competitive mechanisms, the constants rate were determined at 60 and 70°c and has activation energy in the range of 56.9 to 63.0 kj mol-1 that is in perfect agreement with the reported to low temperatures (autocatalytic mechanism ).
Debates y perspectivas sobre la autonomía universitaria
Serrano Garcia, Javier Margarito;González Villanueva, Leonor;
Revista electrónica de investigación educativa , 2012,
Abstract: this paper is a theoretical discussion of the university. the principle of autonomy serves as a guideline for examining the political role of the university, divided as it is between service to the state, to society, to the professional marketplace and to science that is created as a value in itself. in it the principle of autonomy is reconstructed, beginning with an instrumentalist view of the relationship between university and state and continuing with a study of the transformation processes in the university, which would be unintelligible without taking into account the intervention of political variables such as pressure from state interests, student activism and academia. it acknowledges a stage in the building of the educational project in which there is an acceptance of specifically political statements. finally it attempts to develop a comprehensive conception of the university that explicitly admits the coalescence of the political with the social whole.

The influence of social style in evaluating academic presentations of engineering projects

Journal of Technology and Science Education , 2012, DOI: 10.3926/jotse.50
Abstract: An individual’s social style is determined by behavioral patterns in the interactions with their peers. Some studies suggest that social style may influence the way in which an individual’s performance is evaluated. We studied the effects that speakers’ and evaluators’ social styles have on the marks given for end-of-term presentations in a project engineering master’s course. The participants completed a self-evaluation exercise that classified their social styles into one of four categories: Driver, expressive, analytical, or amiable. Students individually rated the content and appearance of their classmates’ presentations. A statistical analysis of these scores revealed that the speaker’s social style had a significant effect on the marks received for content and appearance. The evaluator’s social style also demonstrated a statistically significant effect on the marks given for appearance, though not for content. Students with expressive social style received the highest scores, while the analytical style received the lowest scores. These results reiterate the necessity to train students as evaluators in order to reduce bias when evaluating their classmates and co-workers during their academic and professional careers.
