Fuzzy Voice Coding with Significant Impulses Modeling and Redundant Waveform Recycling  [PDF]
Ismael Rosas Arriaga, Juan C. García Infante, J. Carlos Sánchez García
Communications and Network (CN) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/cn.2013.51005
Abstract:

This paper proposes a voice codification based on two algorithms that make the wave form codification in time domain. The first uses the significant impulse model (SIM), which has as a goal to operate as an endpoint detector and as a dawn sampling, through the detection and selection of the significant valleys and crests; the second algorithm, is a redundant wave-form recycler (RWR) that uses an architecture based on fuzzy logic with an accumulative memory. The fuzzy algorithm obtains the similitude grade between the redundant wave forms, this with the objective of save into an knowledge base the patterns, based on the no supervised learning and when there are into memory, automatically there will be used to identified their arrive respect to the input signal, substituting the input block by the correspondent pattern into memory. This decoding process is using the SIM interpolation with a memory in accordance to the RWR.

García Sánchez, Ester;
Andamios , 2007,
Abstract: the concept of actor is widely employed in social sciences as well as in politicians' and journalists' discourses. that is why the lack of definitions is so striking. we assume that this concept must be defined in operational terms in order to orient both theoretical analysis and empirical research. by examining the academic debates on this subject, we propose a definition of the term that serves to determine when an individual or a group of individuals can be considered as actors. based on this, we make a distinction between two main types of actors -nominal actors and collective actors. since actions and/or decisions are at the core of the concept, we conclude by focusing on those factors that have an impact upon actors' actions and decisions.
Pro descontaminación selectiva

Medicina Intensiva , 2010,
Abstract: selective decontamination of the digestive tract (sdd) has been proven to prevent infections of endogenous development and reduce mortality in critically ill patients under prolonged mechanical ventilation. historical arguments against its use, like the development of bacterial resistance or the selection of resistant microorganisms and the absence of influence on mortality have not been confirmed. moreover, recent clinical trials designed to evaluate these variables, show remarkable reductions in the incidence of resistant bacteria and a significant beneficial effect on mortality. furthermore, no increases in workload or costs have been documented. a few studies with post-trial and intermediate range follow-up periods didn't find increases in resistance. implementation of sdd requires motivation and leadership in order to achieve cooperation of other related hospital specialists, training of several categories of healthcare professionals, and continuous monitoring of results. in order to facilitate the use of sdd in the critically ill, this preventive measure should be incorporated in guidelines of national and international scientific societies and working groups involved in the care of the critically ill patient. the general implementation of sdd in our intensive care units must be accompanied by a registry in order to be able to monitor the effect on the incidence of infection and bacterial resistance. for this purpose, the spanish national icu infection and resistance surveillance programme envin-helics, active over the last 15 years, constitutes both a more than adequate tool, and the convenient reference data base.
Jóvenes de otros mundos: ?Tribus urbanas? ?Culturas juveniles? Aportaciones desde contextos no occidentales
Sánchez García,José;
Cuadernos de antropolog?-a social , 2010,
Abstract: from an experience of field in four districts of the city of cairo, the author raises a reflection and a reframing of the instituted traditional methodologies for the investigation between generational groups in western contexts. although the basically urban character of these associations is defended, it discusses to the relevance of the application of the concepts of "urban tribe" and "youth culture" in cultural scenes like the represented ones in societies that have undergone a fast transition to a modernity imposed by the transnational networks. in this sense, the objective is the refining of those conceptual tools offering a new perspective of which it considers the historical and social peculiarities of the construction of "young" the social category in other places. finally, the text tries to vindicate the anthropology like an empirical and non a priori discipline.
Hominid dispersal into Europe around the Matuyama/Brunhes boundary: origin and significance in human evolution
García Sánchez, Eduardo
Trabajos de Prehistoria , 2006,
Abstract: A review of the European Lower Palaeolithic record shows three human dispersal episodes. The second one is dated between OIS25/OIS24-OIS19/OIS18. It is recorded by lithic assemblages and human remains that point to an eastern Asian origin. This paper reviews this hominid dispersal, related to the Galerian faunal event. Also we analyse the most feasible migratory routes, and the reasons of its abrupt ending. The phylogenetic relationships of these populations are also proposed, putting their context into the human evolutionary sequences of the Lower and Middle Pleistocene.
