Decision Support System for the Integrated Inventory Model with General Distribution Demand

Abstract: In this study, we focus on the impact of combining the decision support system and the continuous review integrated inventory model involving controllable lead time, ordering cost and backorders. The objective is to establish a decision support system with integrated inventory model to minimize the joint total expected inventory cost by simultaneously considering ordering cost, ordering quantity, safety factor, lead time, backorder discount and the number of lots delivered from vendor to buyer. Because the reduction of inventory cost plays an important role in production management, this research builds a decision support system to deal with the integrated inventory model. In the decision support system concerning about the inventory model, we take both the vendor and the buyer into account and help the decision maker to make decisions.
Effect of EGb761 on the Dynamic Changes of Energy Metabolites and Bio-Metal in the Brain Cortex of Gerbil during Focal Cerebral Ischemia  [PDF]

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the pharmacological effect of EGb761 on the dynamic alterations of magnesium (Mg) and energy metabolites including glucose and lactate in brain cortex of gerbil during focal cerebral ischemia. A single dose of EGb761 (100 mg/kg, i.p.) was given 30 min prior to cerebral ischemic surgery. Cerebral ischemia was induced by occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery (RMCA) for 180 minutes. Two microdialysis probes were stereotaxically implanted bilaterally into the brain cortex for auto-sampling the extracellular fluid. Experimental result showed that pretreatment gerbil with EGb761 could preserve the highest Mg and glucose level in the contralateral (non-ischemic) brain. However, the lowest lactate concentration was observed in the contralateral (non-ischemic) brain in gerbil pretreated with EGb761. Interestingly, an opposite result concerning the level of Mg, glucose, and lactate was observed in the ipsilateral (ischemic) brain in EGb761 pretreated subject. Based on our present results, it seems likely that due to the pharmacological and compensatory effect, EGb761 can preserve more Mg and glucose level but not the lactate concentration in the contralateral brain. Also, this positive phenomenon, at least in part, may be helpful for the non-ischemic brain not only in preserving more Mg and glucose level, but also in preventing the non-ischemic brain from further serious cerebral ischemic challenge.
Voltage Generated Characteristics of Piezoelectric Ceramics Cymbal Transducer  [PDF]

In this study the relation between the generated open circuit output voltages of the piezoelectric ceramics Cymbal transducers with applied impact mechanical energy is studied. The output voltages of piezoelectric ceramics Cymbal transducers are increased with the increasing of the applied mechanical energy. Under the same impact mechanical energy, the generated open circuit output voltages of the piezoelectric ceramics Cymbal transducer is much higher than that of uncapped piezoelectric ceramics disk alone. The generated open circuit output voltages of the piezoelectric ceramics Cymbal transducer depend on the geometry parameters and the metal thickness of end-cap. The generated open circuit voltage of piezoelectric ceramics Cymbal transducer with thick metal thickness is small than that with thin metal thickness.

Abstract: It is of great significance to automatically generate code from structured flowchart. There are some deficiencies in existing researches, and their key algorithms and technologies are not elaborated, also there are very few full-featured integrated development platforms that can generate code automatically based on structured flowchart. By analyzing the characteristics of structured flowchart, a structure identification algorithm for structured flowchart is put forward. The correctness of algorithm is verified by enumeration iteration. Then taking the identified flowchart as input, an automatic code generation algorithm is proposed. Also the correctness is verified by enumeration iteration. Finally an integrated development platform is developed using those algorithms, including flowchart modeling, code automatic generation, CDT\GCC\GDB etc. The correctness and effectiveness of algorithms proposed are verified through practical operations.
Evolution of Morphology of Nano-Scale CuO Grown on Copper Metal Sheets in 5 wt% NaCl Solution of Spray Fog Environment  [PDF]

Abstract: Nano-scale copper oxide with various morphologies is synthesized via the thermal oxide method and growth in a 5 wt% NaCl solution of spray fog environment. The nano-scale copper oxide is grown on copper metal sheets via the thermal oxide method at 650℃ for 60 minutes. Nano-scale copper oxide grains and nanowires are induced on copper metal sheets then placed in 5 wt% NaCl solution of salt spray fog environment. Significant changes in particle size and mor-phology are observed with increasing salt spray fog treatement time. The morphology of nano-scale copper oxide varies from nanograins to nanowires, Ctahedron, and icositetrahedron. The morphologies and structures of the obtained nano-scale copper oxide are investigated by scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive spectroscopy. Possible growth mechanisms are discussed.

Abstract: 对于一般条块,建立了力平衡方程,导出了条间力递推方程,研究了基于力平衡求解安全系数的一般格式,从而建立了基于力平衡求解安全系数的一般条分法。而基于力平衡求解安全系数的垂直条分法只是它的1个特例。通过分析Sarma法的适用性,根据条块位移的相容关系给出了1个新的条间剪力方程,明确了条间剪力与滑动面几何形状之间的关系,以及条块界面上剪切强度的折减系数随条块和滑动面的几何形状的变化规律。基于新的条间剪力方程可建立条块界面和滑动面上的剪切强度具有不同折减系数的非严格一般条分法。算例分析表明,所给新方法优于Sarma法。应用它能够得到更合理的安全系数值。即使条块形状是变化的,该法也能够给出一致的安全系数值,而且能够保证迭代过程稳定收敛。

Abstract: This study employs a real option pricing approach to conduct an evaluation of the optimal investment strategy for a firm confronted with sequential technology innovations. Stochastic assumptions of innovations in their arrival times and their profitability are added to the model, so as to conform to the most important characteristics of real-world technology markets. Furthermore, this study incorporates a dividend-like payout yield which stands for the opportunity cost of waiting to invest. Simulations and sensitivity analysis of the derived model are presented. It is hoped that the results of this study will help predict actual firm policy.
Spin injection in spin FETs using a step-doping profile

Abstract: We investigate effect of a step-doping profile on the spin injection from a ferromagnetic metal contact into a semiconductor quantum well (QW) in spin FETs using a Monte Carlo model. The considered scheme uses a heavily doped layer at the metal/semiconductor interface to vary the Schottky barrier shape and enhance the tunneling current. It is found that spin flux (spin current density) is enhanced proportionally to the total current, and the variation of current spin polarization does not exceed 20%.
Spin dynamics in a compound semiconductor spintronic structure with a Schottky barrier

Abstract: We demonstrate theoretically that spin dynamics of electrons injected into a GaAs semiconductor structure through a Schottky barrier possesses strong non-equilibrium features. Electrons injected are redistributed quickly among several valleys. Spin relaxation driven by the spin-orbital coupling in the semiconductor is very rapid. At T = 4.2 K, injected spin polarization decays on a distance of the order of 50 - 100 nm from the interface. This spin penetration depth reduces approximately by half at room temperature. The spin scattering length is different for different valleys.
