Extra??o de amido em cavacos de bambu tratados com solu??o diluída de hidróxido de sódio

Abstract: in culms of bambusa vulgaris schrad. (1 and 5 years old), the contents of starch fibrous materials and parenchymatous residue were determined in function of sodium hydroxide solution concentration (0.25, 0.50 and 0.75%), treatment time (5, 10 and 15 hours) and shredding time (30, 60 and 90 seconds). the experimental trial was a 3 x 3 x 3 factorial. the results showed the contents of starch, fibrous materials and parenchymatous residue were not affected by sodium hydroxide concentration and treatment time. the highest starch quantity (75.22 g/kg) was obtained in the highest shredding time (90 seconds) from the 5 years bamboo culms. this study showed the starch extraction is feasible technically as a pre-treatment of the bamboo chips employed to produce pulp and paper.

Abstract: three cottons with fiber strength of 20.5, 20.9 and 22.2 g/tex and having other important fiber properties approximately equal were selected. the cottons were processed on conventional processing equipment into 20/1, 30/1 and 40/1 yarn counts, using a range of twist multipliers of 3.4, 3.6, 3.8, 4.0, 4.2, 4.5 and 4.7. yarn strength and elongation determinations were made on a pendulum-type tester of 150-300 lbs capacity. it was found that: 1 - high strength cotton produced stronger yarns than low strength for any given yarn count or twist; 2 - the amount of twist required to obtain maximum strength was not affected significantly by fiber strength; 3 - high fiber strength produced yarns with better elongation and 4 - the iac 16 cotton variety yielded yarns of highest tenacity and elongation.

Abstract: the morphological characteristics of cellulosic fibers obtained from sugarcane straw were determined. this material, a fibrous residue, presented fiber length (1.24 mm) between the eucaliptus (1.0 mm) and pinus (4.0 mm) fiber lengths, whose woods are the main cellulosic raw material used to produce pulp and paper. the average values for wall thickness, lumen diameter and fiber width were, respectively 4.33, 4.15 and 12.80 μm. although, the fiber yields obtained in acid (34.63%) or alkaline (33.97%) conditions were low in comparison with that obtained for wood species, the sugarcane straw is adequate to be used as raw material for papermaking.

Abstract: the technological characterization of stems of four manioc varieties (iac 12.829, branca de santa catarina, roxinha or mico and fibra) were determined, in order to evaluate the cellulosic fibers as raw material for pulp and paper production. the results showed that the cellulosic fiber yields of the cassava stem varied from 239.7 to 317.6 g/kg. the 'fibra' and 'branca de santa catarina' varieties presented, respectively, the smallest (18.2 g/kg) and the highest (35.0 g/kg) medullary contents. the cassava stem woody portion supplied cellulosic fibers (0.77 to 0.96 mm) shorter than the fibers of the best fraction (1.71 to 2.61 mm). the relation between fiber dimensions pointed out adequate values to produce pulp and paper with good physical and mechanical properties.

Abstract: the fibers of three cotton varieties (iac 16, iac 13-1 and iac 17) were processed on conventional equipment into 20/1, 30/1 and 40/1 yarn counts, using a range of twist multipliers of 3.4, 3.6, 3.8, 4.0, 4.2, 4.5 and 4.7, to study the twist effect on uniformity and nep count of cotton yarns. the yarn regularity was obtained through the results provided by an integrator and the quantity of neps by an imperfection counter, both of the uster evenness tester line. the results showed a direct response on the number of twists, as compared to neps using ne20, ne30 and ne40 yarn counts, depending on the cotton variety. the yarn regularity was not affected. increasing the yarn counts, increased the irregularity and the quantity of neps, mainly in the variety showing higher tendency to these abnormalities.

Abstract: in this paper, laminated chips of bambusa vulgaris schrad with reduced thickness (0.5 mm) were shredded for starch extraction as well as fibrous and residual fraction separations. the chip shredding system was performed in a domestic liquefier provided with an inverted cup. the results varied from 52.16 to 69.36 g/kg for starch, from 774.53 to 798.26 g/kg for fibrous fraction and from 72.50 to 112.44 g/kg for residual fraction. the utilization of laminated chips with thickness ranging from 0.403 to 0.489 mm, improved the starch extraction, as they eliminate the need of softening pre-treatment of the chips.

Abstract: sieve tubes diameters of 15 rubber trees clones, eleven years old [hevea brasiliensis (willd. ex adr. de juss.) müell. arg.] accounting for plant materials with high (ian 873, iac 41, rrim 600, pr 107, ian 717, iac 57 and iac 15) and low (iac 53, iac 39, iac 59, iac 51, iac 16, iac 22, iac 19 and iac 9) rubber productions were determined. results have shown significant correlation (r2 = 0.825) between sieve tubes diameter and rubber production (y = 0.1961x2 - 14.77x + 281.7)

Abstract: Determinou-se o diametro dos tubos crivados em 15 clones de seringueira [Hevea brasiliensis (Willd. ex Adr. de Juss.) Müell. Arg.], representando material de alta (IAN 873, IAC 41, RRIM 600, PR 107, IAN 717, IAC 54 e IAC 15) e de baixa (IAC 53, IAC 39, IAC 59, IAC 51, IAC 16, IAC 22, IAC 19 e IAC 9) produ o de borracha. Os resultados mostraram que houve correla o significativa (R2 = 0,825) entre o diametro dos tubos crivados e a produ o de borracha (y = 0,1961x2 - 14,77x + 281,7).

Abstract: No presente estudo, cavacos laminados de Bambusa vulgaris Schrad com espessura reduzida (0,5 mm) foram desfibrados visando à extra o de amido e à separa o das fra es fibrosa e residual. O desfibramento dos cavacos foi realizado em liquidificador de copo invertido. Os resultados variaram de 52,16 a 69,36 g/kg para o amido, de 774,53 a 798,26 g/kg para a fra o fibrosa e de 72,50 a 112,44 g/kg para a fra o residual. O emprego de cavacos laminados com espessura variando de 0,403 a 0,489 mm favoreceu o desfibramento: viabilizou a extra o de amido, dispensando o pré-amolecimento dos cavacos.

Abstract: fiber production per plant and leaf dry matter content as well as leaf fiber and non-fibrous fraction levels have been scored in 152 agave hybrids, and the results compared with those of agave sisalana (common species). those hybrids were derived from the backcross (a. amaniensis x a. angustifolia) x a. amaniensis. fiber production (0.2 to 2.5 kg/plant), leaf dry matter content (142.3 to 216.0 g/kg), leaf fiber (189.9 to 361.9 g/kg) and leaf non-fibrous fraction (219.2 to 365.1 g/kg) varied sharply among the hybrids tested, as compared with the values obtained in agave sisalana. average fiber production (1.4 kg/plant) from the 58 highest yielding hybrids significantly outscored that of the common species (0.7 kg/plant).
