A Content-based Variable-size Block Partition Method for H.264

Abstract: As one of the effective coding tools in the newly-published H.264/AVC coding standard,variable-size block motion estimation is of great importance in performance evaluation of the encoder.A content-based variable-size block partition method is presented for H.264.The proposed algorithm is based on pre-analysis of video content to select between TDVSBM and BUVSBM that best suits the video in unit of the frame.To enable the adaptive selection,a method based on the STGS-image is proposed to develop an efficient and computationally simple criterion.Experimental results show that the proposed content-based variable-size block motion estimation(CBVSBM) algorithm reduces the computational complexity in contrast to both TDVSBM and BUVSBM,but with similar visual quality.

Abstract: 双重加工模型认为人类拥有两种信息加工模式,联想模式是快速、不需努力的加工,以良好学习联想(Well-learned associations)为基础:反思模式是慢速的、需要付出努力的加工,建立在基于规则的符号推理基础上,联想模式的发生是自动化的,当预期被违反时,执行反思模式,并需要足够的认知资源.当反思加工没有校正消极的有偏向的联想加工时,就会表现出抑郁的认知易感性.双重加工模型对抑郁认知易感性的评估、病原学和治疗提出了新的看法.

Abstract: To improve the performance of the image segmentation algorithm, a relative fuzzy connected interactive segmentation algorithm is presented based on Redundant Wavelet Transform (RWT). In comparison with the original scale-based algorithm, the proposed one, with almost the same accuracy, accelerates the segmentation speed by tens times. And it is insensitive to different noise models. In addition, a study of the influence of different redundant wavelet decomposition scales is also included. The experimental results illustrate that the proposed algorithm can obtain the object regions of interest from medical as well as man-made noisy images quickly and reliably with only a little interaction.

Abstract: To develop an effective digital media protection method, an algorithm for digital video watermarking is proposed based on binary operation in 3D wavelet transform domain. For realizing the extraction of watermark image, a blind detection and restoration algorithm is presented, which does not require the original video. The proposed watermarking embedding and extracting algorithm uses only four image frames for performing wavelet decomposition per operation with lower memory demands and short delay, which suits for watermark online embedding and extracting and real-time implementation with hardware. The experimental results illustrate that the proposed watermarking algorithm is robust to video degradation and distortion attacks, such as Gaussian noise MPEG coding, frame averaging, frame dropping and frame swapping.

Abstract: Based on adaptive motion compensated interpolation ,a fast frame rate up-conversion algorithm was presented.Motion estimation was performed on pyramid structure data and the motion vectors of higher layer were corrected by the motion vectors of adjacent blocks,which would reduce computational complexity and obtain smooth motion vector field.In order to avoid over-searching and under-searching,the size of search window was designed to be adaptively adjusted.The limitation of conventional algorithms is overcomed in the implementation of motion compensation by using only one interpolation method,and different interpolation techniques are adopted according to the reliability of motion vector.The block artifacts in the block boundaries are reduced by applying overlapped block motion compensation method.In occlusion regions,a weighted multiple candidate motion compensation is employed to reduce block artifacts.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm reduces the computational complexity and obtains a better interpolation frame compared with the conversional algorithms.

Abstract: Microcalcifications are the primary radiological indicator of early breast cancers. A method for the automatic detection of microcalcifications in digital mammograms is presented in this paper. The algorithm based on top-hat morphologic operator is developed to restrain the background, then the features of single microcalcifications such as gray, texture, and contrast, etc. are extracted to detect the microcalcifications in mammograms. The proposed method is based on the Top-hat operator. Comparing to other approaches, this method can more efficiently detect weak microcaleifications in the high background, and the detected results are much close to the actual shapes of the calcifications.

Abstract: 图像分割是指将一幅图像分解为若干互不交迭的区域的集合,是图像处理和计算机视觉的基本问题之一。为了提高图像分割的效率,提出了一种基于2维直方图加权的塔形模糊c均值(FCM)聚类图像快速分割算法。该方法先通过构造合理的2维直方图对噪声进行抑制;然后通过塔形分解来缩减聚类样本集;最后利用加权FCM聚类算法进行分类。仿真结果表明,该方法的效率明显优于标准的FCM算法。此外,为确定分割的最优类别数c,还引入了一种基于该快速算法的聚类有效性评价函数——修正划分模糊度,实现了最佳图像分割类别数c的自动确定。基于人造图像和实际图像的测试实验结果表明该方法是有效的。
