De vacunas y seroterapias: fundamentos de una ciencia que llegó a tener veintisiete premios Nobel en el siglo XX

Abstract: based upon the pioneering works that are described in the present paper and which correspond to the first five nobel prizes related to immunology, and also on other scientific findings mainly in europe, a new science would be created. one hundred and sixteen years after the budapest congress to which metchnikov, roux and other protoimmunologists attended, and in the same city of budapest upon the danube, this new science would receive the name of immunomics to refer to its interdependence with contemporary genomics. between one date and the other, all along the xx century, the nobel committee would attribute twenty seven prizes to scientists in the field of medicine who worked in the fundamentals of the science that was once called immunology, and which in the xxith century will probably deal on the principles of susceptibility and genetic conditioning to develop a certain type of reaction which will not be called as in ancient times rubor, tumor, ache and heat, neither as in the xxth century according to isolated levels of soluble or membrane proteins and their corres-ponding intracellular signals in different cellular subpopulations, but according to the new concepts of immunomics and immunocibernetics and other sciences of complex systems which will better account for the interactions within the organisms themselves besides their interactions with environmental factors.

Abstract: in this essay, 1) i make a presentation of the kind of conceptual analysis that wittgenstein does in some of his post-tractatus works. particularly, i refer to a certain way of proceeding which consists in the description of the different uses of a concept, and which tries to clarify the conditions of functioning of our language to finally solve a certain philosophical problem. 2) i examine some passages from philosophical investigations in which wittgenstein analyses psychological concepts and i point out to certain naturalistic, externalistic and mentalistic interpretations of those passages that i find problematic. 3) i present an interpretation of wittgenstein's perspective about the existence and nature of psychological states and processes that considers both the kind of analysis done by wittgenstein and some statements extracted from investigations and blue and brown books.

Abstract: the aim of this paper is to understand what factors hinder access to justice for women living in situations of violence, from legally inadequate policies and procedures, to attorney?s structural or subjective constraints, impeding an effective, efficient and objective intervention towards the survivors. it quotes some of the emotional and security implications for women to settle and initiate criminal proceedings against their aggressors and how many times they end up being revictimizing during the process, finding the dehumanizing treatment, disbelief, impunity, inefficiency, neglect and lack of will to solve their problems. finally, here are mentionned the issues of working with violence victims.

Abstract: La invención del microscopio, a diferencia de muchos otros instrumentos en la historia de la ciencia y a semejanza de solamente unos pocos como el telescopio, resultó en la creación de una nueva ciencia: la microbiología. El desarrollo técnico de este instrumento barroco, como sucedió con el violín, por ejemplo, logró revelar mundos cada vez más complejos para el entendimiento humano. Abstract: La Inmunología se forjó a partir de los trabajos pioneros descritos en este artículo, correspondientes a los cinco primeros premios Nobel relacionados con esta ciencia y de otros hallazgos de científicos especialmente europeos, 116 a os después del congreso de Budapest, al que asistieron Metchnikov, Roux y otros proto-inmunólogos, y en la misma Budapest, a orillas del Danubio, recibió el nombre de inmunó-mica para dar cuenta de su interdependencia con la genómica contemporánea. Entre una y otra de esas fechas, a todo lo largo del siglo XX, el comité del Nobel confirió 11 premios de Medicina más a trabajos con fundamento directo en la ciencia que se llamó inmunología. En el siglo XXI probablemente se centrará en los principios de la susceptibilidad y el condicionamiento genéticos para desarrollar un cierto tipo de reacción. ésta ya no será calificada, como lo hicieron los antiguos, por rubor, tumor, dolor y calor, ni como lo hizo la mayoría de los inmunólogos del siglo XX, de acuerdo con los niveles aislados de proteínas solubles o de membrana y de sus correspondientes se ales intracelulares en diferentes subpoblaciones, sino mediante la inmunogenética, la inmunocibernética y otras ciencias de sistemas complejos que darán cuenta de las interacciones de los organismos consigo mismos y con los factores del ambiente. Abstract: Before becoming toponymic references in the Javeriana University in Bogotá, Félix Restrepo, CarlosOrtiz, ángel Valtierra and Jesús Emilio Ramírez were a reference of academic life, highlights of Jesuiticintelligence. In these days, when an important number of new laboratories are being inaugurated in thebuildings bearing their names, it is relevant to become acquainted with a few aspects of their interests andachievings throughout their lifetime. We will follow briefly their history as walking through the corridorsof the buildings of which they are the eponyms today. In this exercise we will try to throw a light on theirintellectual production and, eventually, on their scientific dimension.
