Abstract In Brazil, Axel Honneth`sworkmanshipis, still in a while, a little divulged. There are some articles on periodics, rare chapters in books and only twobooks from the author translated to Portuguese, all of these in national circulation. The main objective is giving a synthesis about Honneth’s Work and trajectory. Currently he is considered the representative of the third generation of “Frankfurt school” in the European academy. In special, to offer introductory subsidies to everyone who is interested in knowing his Theory of Recognition as well as a good reflection on the validity of such approach in the understanding of the current urban conflictualities.
Russell′s Early Type Theory and the Paradox of Propositions
André Fuhrmann
Principia : an International Journal of Epistemology , 2001,
Abstract: The paradox of propositions, presented in Appendix B of Russell's The Principles of Mathematics (1903), is usually taken as Russell's principal motive, at the time, for moving from a simple to a ramified theory of types. I argue that this view is mistaken. A closer study of Russell's correspondence with Frege reveals that Russell carne to adopt a very different resolution of the paradox, calling into question not the simplicity of his early type theory but the simplicity of his early theory of propositions.
Traditions of martyrdom in the Ignatian Letters
S. Fuhrmann
In die Skriflig , 2011, DOI: 10.4102/ids.v45i2&3.35
Abstract: The letters of Ignatius represent one of the key texts for the emergence of martyrdom during the second century AD in Christianity. This article is concerned with the question whether Ignatius contributed to a “theology of martyrdom” or whether he rather relied on previous traditions. The author argues, by undertaking an analysis of certain pragmatics and semantics, that the motif of martyrdom is solely used to buttress Ignatius’ claim for authority among his intended addressees by referring to an understanding of martyrdom that has its roots in the New Testament. An identification of the author of the letters with a historical martyr is regarded as unlikely.

Recent multi-wavelength campaigns in the Fermi-GST era
Lars Fuhrmann
Physics , 2010,
Abstract: Since 2008 the Fermi/LAT instrument has delivered highly time-resolved gamma-ray spectra and detailed variability curves for a steadily increasing number of AGN. For detailed AGN studies the Fermi/LAT data have to be combined with, and accompanied by, dedicated ground- and space-based multi-frequency observations. In this framework, the Fermi AGN team has realized a detailed plan for multi-wavelength campaigns including a large suite of cm/mm/sub-mm band instruments. Many of those campaigns have been triggered, often for sources detected in flaring states. We review here a few interesting results recently obtained during three such campaigns, namely for the flat-spectrum radio quasar 3C 279, the Narrow Line Seyfert 1 PMN J0948+0022 and quasar 3C 454.3.
Non-Smooth Saddle-Node Bifurcations of Forced Monotone Interval Maps I: Existence of an SNA
Gabriel Fuhrmann
Mathematics , 2013,
Abstract: We study one-parameter families of quasi-periodically forced monotone interval maps and provide sufficient conditions for the existence of a parameter at which the respective system possesses a non-uniformly hyperbolic attractor. This is equivalent to the existence of a sink-source orbit, that is, an orbit with positive Lyapunov exponent both forwards and backwards in time. The attractor itself is a non-continuous invariant graph with negative Lyapunov exponent, often referred to as "SNA". In contrast to former results in this direction, our conditions are C^2-open in the fibre maps. By applying a general result about saddle-node bifurcations in skew products, we obtain a conclusion on the occurrence of non-smooth bifurcations in the respective families. Explicit examples show the applicability of the derived statements.
Programa Saúde da Família: viabilizando a saúde pública universalizada no Brasil
Fuhrmann, Nadia Lucia
Textos & Contextos (Porto Alegre) , 2003,
