Core-shell microstructure formed in the ternary Fe-Co-Cu peritectic alloy droplet

Abstract: The metastable liquid phase separation occurs in the ternary Cu50Fe37.5Co12.5 peritectic alloy droplets during free fall. The separated alloy melt rapidly solidifies and evolves core-shell microstructure composed of L1(Cu) and L2(Fe,Co) phases. Based on the determination of the phase transition temperature, the core-shell microstructure evolution, the interfacial energy, the temperature gradient and the Marangoni migration are analyzed. The interfacial energy of the separated liquid phase increases with the decrease of the temperature. The temperature gradient changes from large to small along the radius direction from inside to outside in the alloy droplet. The Marangoni force (F M) acting on the micro-droplet of L2(Fe,Co) phase increases with the increase of the size of the L2(Fe,Co) phase, and decreases with the increase of undercooling. Driven by F M, the micro-droplet of L2(Fe,Co) phase migrates from outside to inside in the alloy droplet, collides and coagulates each other during migration, and then forms different types of core-shell microstructures.

Formation of ζ phase in Cu-Ge peritectic alloys

Abstract: Rapid growth behavior of ζ phase has been investigated in the undercooling experiments of Cu-14%Ge, Cu-15%Ge, Cu-18.5%Ge and Cu-22%Ge alloys. Alloys of the four compositions obtain the maximum undercoolings of 202 K(0.17T L), 245 K(0.20T L), 223 K(0.20T L) and 176 K(0.17T L), respectively. As the content of Ge increases, the microstructural transition of “α(Cu) dendrite + ζ peritectic phase → ζ peritectic phase → ζ dendrite + ( +ζ) eutectic” takes place in the alloy at small undercooling, while the microstructural transition of “fragmented α(Cu) dendrite + ζ peritectic phase → ζ peritectic phase → ζ dendrite + phase” happens in the alloy at large undercooling. EDS analysis of the Ge content in ζ peritectic phase indicates that undercooling enlarges the solid solubility of α dendrite, which leads to a decrease in the Ge content in ζ phase as undercooling increases. In the Cu-18.5%Ge alloy composed of ζ peritectic phase, the Ge content in ζ phase increases when undercooling increases, which is due to the restraint of the Ge enrichment on the grain boundaries by high undercooling effect.
Solidification microstructure and phase constitution of Fe-7.5%Mo-16.5%Si ternary quasiperitectic alloy

Abstract: Solidification of Fe-7.5%Mo-16.5%Si ternary quasiperitectic alloy is investigated by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and drop tube containerless processing techniques. The primary phase is identified as R (Fe5Mo3Si2) and the quasiperitectic phases are τ1 (Fe5MoSi4) and Fe3Si. With the decrease of droplet diameter, the cooling rate and undercooling of the droplets increase rapidly. The experiment result indicates that the solidification microstructure is composed of remnant primary phase, quasiperitectic phases and ternary eutectic when the droplet diameter exceeds 400 μm, whereas the ternary eutectic is suppressed when the droplet is smaller than 400 μm in diameter.

Abstract:

UM2000 signal is a type of multi-audio frequency-modulated signal which is widely used for railway blocking. Principles of three typical demodulating algorithms are presented in details in this paper. Bit error rates of the three methods at different SNRs are achieved by Monte Carlo simulation experiments. Among the three algorithms, the quadrature demodulation has the best performance at the real working environment. However, the three methods have the same problem of phase hopping when noise is too strong.

Abstract: In this article,the study on biological degradability of mixture of P204 (di(2 ethylhexyl)phosphate acid and kerosene is conducted by measureing BOD5 and COD of their water saturation.The results show that the mixture of P204 and kerosene by different volume ratio are biological degradable.COD and BOD5 of the equilibrium aqueous phase are proported with the initial volume ratio of P204 and kerosene when the initial concentration of P204 is lower than 70%. However,the values have little change when the initial concentration is greater than 70%.The formula of P204 concentration in equilibrium aqueous phase is proposed which is important to the extraction displacement technology.

Abstract: In this study, cry-type gene of 31 isolates of Bt had been identified using PCR-RFLP identification system, and SDS-PAGE analysis and bioassay had been performed. 25 strains containing cry1 type gene express 130-150 kD protein and 16 of them contain cry1I gene, which codes 80 kD protein and is larvicidal to both lepidopteran and coleopteran species. 15 strains contain both cry1 and cry2 type gene; 10 strains contain unknown cry-type gene; 6 strains don't contain seven identified cry-type gene. Result of bioassay shows that the strains containing both cry1 and cry2 gene have high toxicity to lepidopteran order, 7 of them are strongly insecticidal to Pristiphora beijingensis and Lymantria dispar larvae; the strains containing cry1Ab + 1Ac + 2A or cry1Aa + 1Ac + 2A have high activity to Heliothis armigera; no cry gene, no activity. It is indicated that identification of cry-type gene and its analysis of SDS-PAGE protein can predict insecticidal activity of Bt isolates, and it is no pertinency between cry-type gene and serotype of Bt strain.
Some Results on Preconditioned Mixed-Type Splitting Iterative Method

Abstract: We present a preconditioned mixed-type splitting iterative method for solving the linear system , where is a Z-matrix. And we give some comparison theorems to show that the rate of convergence of the preconditioned mixed-type splitting iterative method is faster than that of the mixed-type splitting iterative method. Finally, we give one numerical example to illustrate our results. 1. Introduction For solving linear system, where is an square matrix and and are -dimensional vectors, the basic iterative method is where and is nonsingular. Thus, (2) can be written as where and . Assuming that has unit diagonal entries, let , where is the identity matrix and and are strictly lower and strictly upper triangular parts of , respectively. Abstract: Objective: To investigate the relationship between the single ALT positive (ELSIA-HBV/HCV negative) and NAT-HBV/HCV on blood donor samples. Methods: 28710 samples were surveyed retrospectively from Dec. 2010 to Dec. 2011. ALT was detected by rate method, and the single ALT positive samples were detected by ELSIA-HBV/HCV and NAT-HBV/HCV. The relationship between the single ALT positive and NAT-HBV/HCV were analyzed. 21 samples, values in 40 U/L ≤ ALT ≤ 70 U/L, were selected at random from 2516 samples with single ALT positive, which were second detected by ELISA and NAT in the second donation. Results: 2516 (8.74%) single ALT positive samples (ELSIA-HBV/HCV negative) were found in 28710 donors. Among these samples, 8 (2.8/10000) positive were detected by NAT, including 5 HBV-DNA-positive and 3 HCV-RNA-positive. Obviously, positive rate of NAT from the donors whose ALT value ≤ 70 U/L were lower than those of ≥ 71 U/L (P < 0.01). 21 donors were investigated in the second donation in following 153 to 401 days, All samples were negative by ELISA-HBV/HCV and NAT-HBV/HCV. Conclusions: Donors with single ALT positive (value in 40 U/L-70 U/L) are not likely to become HBV/HCV virus carriers or HBV/HCV patients after half or one year. So it is to set ALT abandone threshlod to ≤ 70 U/L can ensure blood safety, and reduce blood abandone in our center.

Abstract:
A novel scheme which can realize high-speed optical signals transmission and reception by using 4-pulsed amplitude modulation (4-PAM) and demodulation in 10 Gb/s passive optical access systems with different bandwidth optical Bessel filter (OBF) is introduced. In this scheme, a PAM sequence generator module, an M-ary pulse generator module and one Mach-Zehnder intensity Modulator (MZM) are employed for generating the 10 Gb/s optical 4-PAM signals. And then, the generated optical 4-PAM signal achieves transmission over 20 km single mode fiber (SMF) for downstream (DS) access links application. Finally, the optical 4-PAM signal after transmission is directly detected and demodulated. We measure time-domain sequential waveform curves, optical spectrum curves, and eye-diagrams, and analyze the receiver sensitivity of 10 Gb/s 4-PAM signals before and after transmission. The received performance of the optical 4-PAM signals after transmission over 20 km single mode fiber (SMF) with different bandwidth OBF has also been analyzed.
