Desenvolvimento em Quest?o , 2011,
Abstract: This paper proposes a rapprochement between the sociology of development and urban sociology. The towns are the core of development as they are in them, which appear the characteristic culture of the development of the modern capitalist state - "urban culture". Therefore, there is the possibility of rapprochement. For that we conducted a literature search, from which a dialogue was established between Jacques Lambert s the theory of developmentalism and theoretical contribution of some authors of urban sociology.The aim was both to understand how the concepts of urban sociology appear in the theory of Lambert and compare the discussion raised by this author about the obstacles of Brazilian development, in the 50s, which is dualism rural / urban, with recent studies of authors who dedicated to the urban theme in urban Brazil, as for example Luiz Cezar Q. Ribeiro, who also points to existence of a dualism in Brazilian society.

Abstract: The Agenda 21 and the United Nations Convention for Desertification Combat definesdesertification as the degradation of lands in arid regions, semi-arid and sub-wet dried,resulting from various factors, among them the weather variations and the human activities.This understanding, besides marking the geographical space to be taken into consideration,undoes with the clearly climatic view of the question and proves that desertification has itsorigin in complex interactions of physical factors, biologics, political, socials, cultural andeconomics. However, it’s necessary to recognize that there are generally more serious causes,as the poverty, that leaves no alternative for the husbandmen only get from land the maximumpossible to supply the family’s immediate necessity even affecting its subsistence for a longtime. In terms of world, semi-arid regions represent 1/3 of the planet's surface, where lives 1/5of the population, more than 1 million people. Twenty-two per cent is the participation ofthese areas in the production of foods. The Semi-arid of Brazil is registered as one of thephysiographic zones of the Northeast Region, representing about 57% of this territory. Theorganization of the economical process, historically based on extensive cattle breeding andagriculture, and on the existence of some products of larger importance in the market, like thecase of cotton was, always based on an agrarian structure dominated by land concentrations.In the more diffused desertification process in the North-eastern semi-arid this pattern hasbeen constructed on alarming proportions, aggravated and reaffirmed by the occurrence ofperiodic droughts and the peculiarities due to the systems of production that appear from thisprocess directly contrary to the correct manners of use of the natural resources, in option to,where and how to develop the agricultural activities.
Development of a Soy-Based Synbiotic Beverage  [PDF]

Food and Nutrition Sciences (FNS) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/fns.2012.38148
Abstract: Nowadays consumers seek foods that not only provide basic nutrition but also contain compounds that contribute to health. Thus, different products have been designed to meet this demand, especially those with probiotic and prebiotic characteristics. This study aimed to evaluate different formulations of a soy-based synbiotic beverage. The composition and process conditions were defined using a Placket & Burman factorial design in which the independent variables were process temperature, concentrations of the soy hydrosoluble extract and fructooligosaccharides (FOS) and the initial concentration of the probiotics Bifidobaterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus paracasei subsp. Paracasei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus. Changes to the product by addition of sucrose, Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. Bulgaricus were also studied. Response parameters were: pH, cell concentration (plate counting), and quantification of fructooligosaccharides, acetic acid and lactic acid. The specific growth rate (μx) and change in cell count (Δx) were determined in each formulation. The soybean hydrosoluble extract was considered a good substrate for beverage production; FOS had a greater effect at lower concentrations. At the end of all fermentation tests the total probiotic count was greater than 7 log CFU/mL, meeting the legal requirements of a functional food. Lower temperatures were better for the growth of probiotics. The addition of sucrose resulted in a lower consumption of FOS by the fermenting microorganisms, while the presence of Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus represented little change concerning the evaluated characteristics. Therefore, according to the results of this study, the production of a soy-based symbiotic fermented beverage can be performed using soybean hydrosoluble extract at 10% (w/v), fructooligosaccharides at about 3% (w/v), sucrose at 12% (w/v), and the process temperature should be maintained at 35℃. Initial probiotic concentrations need not exceed 5 × 106 CFU/ml.
ética bibliotecária no contexto atual
Souza, Francisco das Chagas de;
Perspectivas em Ciência da Informa??o , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-99362007000100011
Abstract: the article discusses the thematics of ethics, taking the three last decades of the 20th century as reference. it considers that the current discussion indicates a predominance of the understanding of ethics under a simply practical perspective and quality gauging. there is also an indication that the mere invocation of ethics would be a sign strong enough to reach the desired solution of a problem of intersubjective nature. the paper presents the understanding that the simple use of the term ′ethics′ in the professional areas, such as library science, is not enough to solve the ethical issues; therefore its excessive invocation ends up contributing to halt a more realistic understanding of the facts almost entirely dehumanizing the ontological sense of life.
