Biclustering of time-lagged gene expression data using real number  [PDF]
Feng Liu, Lingbing Wang
Journal of Biomedical Science and Engineering (JBiSE) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/jbise.2010.32029
Abstract: Analysis of gene expression data can help to find the time-lagged co-regulation of gene cluster. However, existing method just solve the problem under the condition when the data is discrete number. In this paper, we propose efficient algorithm to indentify time-lagged co-regulated gene cluster based on real number.
A New Definition of Intuitionistic Fuzzy Similarity Degree  [PDF]
Qun Liu, Changhuan Feng
Open Journal of Statistics (OJS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ojs.2016.61005

As far as the problem of intuitionistic fuzzy cluster analysis is concerned, this paper proposes a new formula of similarity degree with attribute weight of each index. We conduct a fuzzy cluster analysis based on the new intuitionistic fuzzy similarity matrix, which is constructed via this new weighted similarity degree method and can be transformed into a fuzzy similarity matrix. Moreover, an example is given to demonstrate the feasibility and validity of this method.

Effect of Medicaid Coverage of Tobacco-Dependence Treatments on Smoking Cessation
Feng Liu
International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health , 2009, DOI: 10.3390/ijerph6123143
Abstract: Smoking cessation aids (nicotine replacement products and anti-depressant medication) have been proven to double quitting rates compared to placebo in several randomized controlled trials. But the high initial cost of cessation aids might create a financial barrier to cessation for low-income smokers. In the U.S., Medicaid provides health insurance coverage to low-income people, and in some states covers smoking cessation products. This paper uses nationally representative data of the U.S. to examine how the Medicaid coverage of cessation aids affect smoking behavior. The results indicate the Medicaid coverage of cessation products is positively associated with successful quitting among women aged 18–44.
A Short Analysis of the Reader Variables Affecting Reading and Testing Reading
Feng Liu
Cross-Cultural Communication , 2011, DOI: 10.3968/1599
Abstract: This paper gives a short analysis of the reader variables which affect reading and the test of reading. These include reader’s background knowledge, skills and abilities, purpose in reading, motivation, affect, and other characteristics. These variables not only affect the reading process but also affect the reading product and the testing of reading.
A Short Analysis of the Text Variables Affecting Reading and Testing Reading
Feng LIU
Studies in Literature and Language , 2011,
Abstract: This paper gives a short analysis of the text variables which affect reading and the test of reading. These variables include text topic and content, type and genre, linguistic variables, typographical features and others. It is found that these variables not only affect the reading process, but also affect the reading product—testing reading. Key words: Reading; Testing Reading; Variable; Text Variable
Reading Abilities and Strategies: A Short Introduction
Feng Liu
International Education Studies , 2010, DOI: 10.5539/ies.v3n3p153
Abstract: This paper gives a short analysis of reading abilities and reading strategies. Much research has been done to investigate the nature of reading, though it’s had to exactly define reading abilities and strategies. Different kinds of readings are discussed in this paper and distinctions are made between first language reading and second or foreign language reading.
The Effect of Three Test Methods on Reading Comprehension: An Experiment
Feng Liu
Asian Social Science , 2009, DOI: 10.5539/ass.v5n6p147
Abstract: This study carries out an experiment to find out the effect of three test methods—multiple-choice questions, gap filling and short answer questions—on reading comprehension. It is found that the three test methods have a significant effect on reading comprehension, gap filling is the most difficult, while multiple-choice questions and short answer questions are easier. Both the low-proficient and high-proficient students are affected by test method, there is no interaction effect. It is also found that it takes the longest time to complete short answer questions and the shortest time to complete multiple-choice questions.
A Short Analysis of the Nature of Reading
Feng Liu
English Language Teaching , 2010, DOI: 10.5539/elt.v3n3p152
Abstract: This paper gives a short analysis of the nature of reading. Though it is generally believed that reading involves perceiving the written form of language, the term reading has not been clearly defined up to date. It is possible to see reading as a process, or to examine the product of that process. Three reading models, namely Bottom-up Model, Top-down Model and Interactive Model, are discussed in this paper.
Charmless Three-body $B$ Decays at BABAR
Feng Liu
Physics , 2008,
Abstract: We present Dalitz-plot analyses of $B^+\to K^+\pi^-\pi^+$ and $B^0\to K^+\pi^-\pi^0$ using the data sample collected at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ by the BABAR detector. We have found evidence for direct CP-violation in the decay $B^\pm\to\rho^0 K^\pm$, with a CP-violation parameter ${\cal A}_{CP}={\Gamma_{B^+}-\Gamma_{B^-}\over \Gamma_{B^+}+\Gamma_{B^-}}= (+44\pm10\pm4^{+5}_{-13})%$, where $\Gamma_{B^\pm}$ are the decay rates. The uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and model-dependent, respectively. We also search for the suppressed decays $B^+\to K^-\pi^+\pi^+$ and $K^+K^+\pi^-$ and improve upper limits on the decay branching fractions.
Definition and Research of Internet Neurology
Feng Liu
Computer Science , 2015,
Abstract: More and more scientific research shows that there is a close correlation between the Internet and brain science. This paper presents the idea of establishing the Internet neurology, which means to make a cross-contrast between the two in terms of physiology and psychology, so that a complete infrastructure system of the Internet is established, predicting the development trend of the Internet in the future as well as the brain structure and operation mechanism, and providing theoretical support for the generation principle of intelligence, cognition and emotion. It also proposes the viewpoint that the Internet can be divided into Internet neurophysiology, Internet neuropsychology, Brain Internet physiology, Brain Internet psychology and the Internet in cognitive science.
