Reflexiones sobre los Tribunales de las Oposiciones Universitarias Thoughs on Competitive Examination for University Professors
Guillermo Vazquez Mata,Felipe Rodriguez Castro,Rodolfo Alcaraz Sala,Francisco Javier Novoa Mogollon
Educación Médica , 2006,
Abstract: La medicina presenta cambios clínicos, terapéuticos, y tecnológicos, coincidiendo con variaciones demográficas culturales y epidemiológicas. Medicine is undergoing clinical, therapeutic and technological changes, and this is coinciding with demographic, cultural and epidemiological variations. These factors, and the speed with which innovations occur in all fields, requires a rethink of doctors' training, not only during their initial university studies but also throughout their professional life. Those responsible for appointing medical school lecturers must take into account all these aspects in order to ensure that the teaching staff of the future will transmit these values to students. In turn, candidates must be aware of the key aspects around which they should develop their curriculum.

Agricultural Sciences (AS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/as.2017.88056
Abstract: Micropropagation has been widely used for the rapid multiplication of many plant species, where the final quality of the plant depends on the acclimatization stage. To obtain compact plants, with desired characteristics and adaptable to field conditions, the use of chemical inhibitors of growth is necessary. In sugarcane of the variety CP 72-2086 the effects caused by the growth regulator paclobutrazol (PBZ) in vitro plants applied in the acclimatization phase are unknown. The objective of this research was to know the effect of paclobutrazol in the acclimatization phase in the growth and development of the vitro plants of sugarcane of the variety CP 72-2086. The research was carried out in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agronomy of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, located at 24°37'29\"N and 107°26'36\"W, in Sinaloa, Mexico. Micro-propagated sugarcane seedlings were used by tissue culture; vitro plants were extracted from the flasks 24 hours before being transplanted into the greenhouse. The treatments of PBZ applied were the doses of 0 (control), 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 mg·L-1. The PBZ was applied when the seedlings had seven true leaves [(31 days after transplant (ddt)], and did not show gutting. At 36 ddt, the vitro plants of the trays were extracted and the variables evaluated were height (cm), stem diameter (mm), root length (cm), root volume (mL), root dry weight (g), aerial biomass dry weight (g), leaf area (cm2) and greenness in spad units. A randomized complete block design with three replicates was used. The results of the study indicated that the dose of 150 g·L-1 of PBZ induced the growth of plants more compact and of better quality for the transplant.

Agricultural Sciences (AS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/as.2017.84019
Abstract: For knowing the effect that causes the extract from the leaves of the cedar (Cedrela odorata L.) in termites (Reticulitermes sp.) that affecting rooms, libraries, racks, fence posts and all articles wood source, considering the hypothesis that the extract from the leaves of the cedar is a substance that it makes termites die at a certain time, which makes it possible to use the extract as a biological insecticide that does not harm the environment and influencing the sustainable management of the rooms and many articles wood source. Termites were reared in a greenhouse in susceptible consumption and suitable for reproduction wood, of where the termites were collected and placed in petri dishes toguether with the remains of wood that contained. The application of the extract was done with a manual atomizer, sprinkling it on termites and wood waste, using 20 mL per petri dish and then counted the seconds until termites immovilized or dead in a 100%. Cedar extract acted as insecticide on termites but of all doses tested 5.0 g of leaves per 500 mL of water was the that caused the termites died in a few seconds after application under laboratory conditions.

Luz Llarely Cázarez Flores, Teresa de Jesús Velázquez Alcaraz, Leopoldo Partida Ruvalcaba, Tomás Díaz Valdés, Felipe Ayala Tafoya, Norma Delia Zazueta Torres, Moisés Gilberto Yá?ez Juárez
Agricultural Sciences (AS) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/as.2018.93020
Abstract: The research was done to determine the effects of paclobutrazol (PBZ) through the dose of 150 mg·L-1, on the quality of seedlings determined by the content of chlorophyll, height, leaf area, dry matter of roots and of the aerial part of cucumber, squash, melon and watermelon. Sowing of all species carried out on October 21, 2013 in polystyrene trays with 200 cavities filled with peat moss. Treatments were the doses of 150 mg of PBZ·L-1 water and the control (distilled water). The solution with PBZ and the distilled water were applied only once with manual atomizer on cotyledonal leaves by mean of 25 shots made approximately with the same force, having put physical barriers between experimental units. In the four species (cucumber, squash, melon and watermelon) the PBZ increased the chlorophyll content in 26.0%, 14.9%, 19.4% and 26.5%, respectively, compared to the control; height decreased in 24.0%, 34.7%, 16.3% and 23.4%; leaf area decreased in 40.1, 0.5, 30.4 and 16.2%; the dry matter of roots increased in 20.0%, 62.5%, 85.7% and 19.7%; whereas in cucumber the dry matter of the aerial part increased 12.3%, in squash decreased 5.3%, and in melon and watermelon increased in the respective 22.9 and 3.3%, so that the 150 mg dose of PBZ can be used to produce seedlings with higher quality for transplant.

Agricultural Sciences (AS) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/as.2018.99077
Abstract: The aim of this research was to knowing if it would improve the shelf life of the lemons that were stored in hermetically polystyrene containers closed, as same that were placed in a refrigerated chamber with temperature of 10°C inside, high relative humidity (85%) and renovation of the air by action of the compressor of the chamber. Lemons cv “Lisboa” were cut directly from the orchard and washed with chlorinated water at 150 mg⋅L−1 sodium hypochlorite. The study variables were the color of the epicarp (shell) and the endocarp (pulp), polar and equatorial diameter, firmness of the pulp and total soluble solids concentration (°Brix) in the endocarp. The tone and purity of the yellow color of the shell (epicarp) and pulp or endocarp of the oranges increased significantly within polystyrene containers and, consequently, its quality was preserved and its shelf life was extended to more than 100 days without that they have symptoms of deterioration, by losses polar and equatorial diameter or decrease in total soluble solids. Inside closed containers polystyrene the temperature decreased to 2.0°C in the refrigerated chamber, so that the principle of thermal insulation polystyrene reaffirmed, and its functionality for packaging products, such as fruits, resolve some of their physiological problems themselves, to prolong its shelf life and improve its presentation.

Abstract: aim: to test the feasibility, efficacy and safety of a new two port laparoscopic technique for dialysis catheter placement. material and methods: from january 2006 to july 2009 51 patients underwent dialysis catheter placing using an original technique. all procedures were finished laparoscopically using two 12 mm-sized ports. our technique bases on placing oreopoulos- zellerman catheter along a straight guyon's guide with atraumatic tip, visually guaranting optimal placement. catheter can be repositioned if desired by reentering the guide. median follow-up was 25 months. results: mean operating time was 32 minutes (range 15-55 minutes). one patient suffered an immediate postoperative catheter obstruction that required surgical repositioning. no other technical intra or early postoperative complications related to technique were reported. mean time to discharge 1,02 ± 2.2 days. catheter outflow failure rate was 7.6%. conversion to haemodialysis due to peritonitis 13%. peritonitis per patient/year was 0.27. catheter 6 mo, 1 year and 2 year survival rate was 94%, 87% and 72%. catheter migration rate was 4%. there was no peritoneal dialysis liquid leakage. conclusions: the two ports technique described is an easy and rapid procedure, with few complications and early discharge. due to its reliability, offers good catheter function outcome.
Informal and Formal Labour Flexibility in Mexico
Alcaraz,Carlo;
Desarrollo y Sociedad , 2009,
Abstract: we address a vital topic about labour markets in developing countries: the flexibility of the formal and informal labour sectors. for the mexican economy, we use a panel from the national survey of urban employment (eneu) from 1995 to 2001. we control for workers? observable characteristics, sample selection and non observable regional heterogeneity. we also take into account the possible endogeneity of the unemployment rate. the results show evidence that in the formal sector, unemployment does not affect wages. on the contrary, we found a clear negative effect of unemployment on wages in the informal sector. we also found evidence of a positive relation between formal-informal wage differential and unemployment. these results suggest that the informal sector is more flexible than the formal sector.
